Event Coverage: Street Classics Weekly Car Show 07/04/09

I went back to the first show I covered for Stance Is Everything, The Street Classics Weekly Cruise and Show and Shine. This time I arrived on time and prepared with the SLR and an empty CF card. The turnout and weather were great and the 50/50 draw was up over $2000, these shows are an excellent way to kill a few hours on a lazy Saturday Night.
Dioramas
A local diorama creator was at the show selling and giving away some of his works as prizes

They were fairly detailed

And failry accurate — And fairly accurate

Super Stock
The more of these shows I go to a the more track purposed cars seem to show up.

Again, Camaro's are a popular platform

This Monza was 80% tire and motor

The fitment issues these guys must go through

Black and chrome is timeless

First but hopefully not the last Super Stock set up truck I see

I overheard the owner saying he hated the car during the build but loves it now

Ridiculous

I would have liked to get a picture of this with the front end down but it was up the whole show

Although the front end being titled did allow for this shot

Every inch of this car had been addressed

Including the trunk

Impalas
I have a strong love for classic Impalas

I am not sure what the message is here

My friend says Impalas are played out, I disagree, this color pops

Bottles are for babies real men get blown

Air ride helps put this car where it needs to be

The interior was also proper, switch placment is well done

Chevelle’s
Where I like Impala’s my girlfriend likes Chevelles

70s Bad boy

Lyndsey was particularily fond of this one — Lyndsey was particularly fond of this one

Trucks
I still have a soft spot for trucks

Just a reminder that lifted folks can get it in too

I would drive this any day of the week

Those front fenders lend themselves to tucking tire well

Assorted Hotness

Seems odd that it took me this many posts to throw up a Corvette

Grand National enough said

Street Rod I can't identify

Gasser stance is highly identifiable

Custom paint
Two cars at the show had pretty interesting paint jobs

Ghost flames

The King was in the lot

The General
These pictures mostly speak for themselves.

The young boy in the picture informed me that it did have a dixie horn

This car was accurate

Clearly a regular at General Lee events

I wonder if I can get one of these stickers...
