While Dodge has a habit of turbo charging random vehicles their owners are generally not down to to put them on the ground.

After sifting through many fairly negatively toned threads about stance I was able to find a decent selection of lowered Mopar vehicles that came from the factory equipped with snails (with a few exceptions).

A few of you also helped out with emails as well.

I once inquired about buying a turbo Daytona, it was sitting outside a local shop with the motor in the hatch. The owner said he would put it back in for two thousand dollars, I ended up with my e30 and that car was never fixed.

In my search for ground scraping Dodge Omnis and Daytonas I stumbled upon this SRT-4 swapped Chrysler Town and Country that is completely stock inside and out other than the drive train.

The donor SRT-4 looks like it had a run in with a pole so it was up for auction as was the original Town and Country that’s 2.2 turbo engine went up in smoke so two and two made four, and then eight as the builder ramped up the difficulty by keeping things like the abs, srt4 key fob, and dimmer via ignition for the interior lights intact.

With SRT suspension this car, in theory, could be slammed to the ground. That would kill it as a sleeper though.

Some of you may have noticed that certain items in the store are getting low in stock or are just plain out of stock. This is somewhat by design as I plan to do another ‘vote for the next color’ type of posting on here and facebook so I know what colors to order for 2011.

I am hoping to have the sticker color selection posts go up the week of the redesign, which I have picked a launch date for but will not announce just yet in case I further procrastinate.

Flashback Friday

It has been a long while since I have posted dedicated a post to a Honda fit, a platform worth revisiting and posting more of perhaps?

I guess its not all together ridiculous.Intrepids can’t be worth all that much these days and they do happen to have very large engine bays.

I’ve also came to learn that the exhaust tunnel can double for a drive shaft tunnel provided you route the exhaust elsewhere.

I suppose like most of the swaps I post on Fridays the question isn’t why, it is why not? I can’t really think of a good reason not to put the motor in there if you have both kicking around.

The yellow accenting though… I wouldn’t have put that on there and I may have perhaps forgone the blower for more of a sleeper look like this one (yes there is more than one).

Hoping to get an event coverage year and review post up next week, not sure when I will work on it but it would be the next ‘big’ thing coming for 2011 with more features resuming 2012.

So that’s my list, what would yours be?

A few might make their way to Importfest Montreal but the rest will either be converted back to winter mode, stored, or go under the knife for rebuilds.

With that in mind I made sure to do a few laps of the show and shine Sunday just to make sure I got some photos of some of the more attention grabbing cars.

Before I jump right into the cars here are a few stickers and random things I spotted including a dog and a Tiburon covered in 15 layers of Plasti Dip which evidently turns it into a giant chalk board.

I’ll be hitting up the True Playaz Lowrider BBQ here in Mississauga Saturday and I am really looking forward to it as its been awhile since I have been to a gathering of traditionally done up low lows.

Aside from that I’ve got a couple things in the works but one thing I have to get started on is some new sticker designs in time for Importfest.

I just called myself out on that though so maybe it will help?

This was the first one of these events I had been to in 2011, and the first I had been to in quite some time where the forecast was great the entire day.

The turnout was incredible and the cars were awesome as always, if you live in the area and like cars there really is no excuse why you shouldn’t check one of these out. Also the 50/50 draws are getting pretty high so you could leave the event richer than when you arrived, we didn’t though.

First time I have noticed bikes at these meets, guess it’s my growing two wheel obsession.

A car with a story to tell

I found this Bel Air incredibly interesting because it was obvious that at some point in its life somebody really took care of it and did a lot of modifications to the car, then that care suddenly stopped and the car has become less than half of what it once was.

I never saw the owner to ask what happened but that is probably a good thing because I’m not sure how I would phrase the question without it being offensive, it’s just weird to see a car in this shape still driving normally they only start to look like this after years of sitting in a driveway.

I’m sure this car has a story and one day I would love to hear it.

The Car of my dreams?

My girlfriend and I often chat about what type of car I will build when the time is right and I can devote a lot of money into something I plan to keep for a long time. I’m pretty much dead set on owning a classic simply because I have always wanted one and while I love Impalas she is pretty partial to Chevelles and considering the amount of money the project will probably cost I am willing to make a compromise on model of car.

That being said this Chevelle is perhaps the closest I have seen to what I picture building in my head.  It’s low, it tucks, has huge tires, a heavenly exhaust note and an epic single solid color paint job.

I stood fixated in this position for about 5, maybe 10, minutes

This was my first ‘Heat The Street‘ show of the year (their 7th in total) so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect in regards to turnout number and quality of cars. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised on both counts, many of the usual suspects came out to enjoy the sun along with a few people and cars I had not seen in awhile.

Heck even I parked my car within the show boundaries.

Random

Took a bit more time at this show to take some pictures of some of the other things that I saw at the show outside of cars and women. I was able to capture most of the random stuff that was happening at the show outside of the guys on pocket bikes who I kept missing.

As impractical and illegal as those things are I still want one. Even though I would probably get bored of it really quick.

Bikes seem to be popping up at meets more and more this year, or maybe I am just noticing them more and they were always there. If the latter is the case it is not a good sign for either my wallet or well being.

These two Mustangs stood out to me for fairly obvious reasons. The first one because the owner thought outside of the box in regards to wheel selection and the second because it was all around ridiculous.

I am hoping to head out to a Street Classics Cruise in this Saturday so maybe I will see it again there?

Most of the GM field was made up of trucks that were also at the Niagara Truck and Tuner Expo, though a couple I hadn’t seen since last years Scrape if at all.

You’ve got to give it up for these women, giving back to society on so many levels. Who cares if they’re getting more soap on themselves than the car? They are fearless and courageous, and while other women might talk badly about them, they are the most confident business women around, having fun while making a living, and looking damn good while doing it.

Dave and his ever growing crew are working pretty hard this year to raise the bar in regards to meets in the Toronto area and so far so good as they were able to pull a decent crowd even for Fathers day.

These meets have been a great way for me to meet a lot of the fans of the site for the first time so I spent a lot of time Sunday networking instead of snapping photos of every car that was on hand so sorry in advance if I missed yours.

As I have said again and again my favorite part about the classic events is the atmosphere and the conversations I have with the car owners, many of which who have owned and worked on their cars for longer than I have been alive.

Just to give you an idea of how big the show was this is a shot of just one of the fields where cars were on display.

Steve Plunkett is a huge Cadillac enthusiast who luckily enough has the coin to support his passion. His personal collection is fairly robust from both a car stand point and memorabilia stand point. I didn’t take too many pictures of it because it was packed inside but if you want an in depth look at his collection just give his site a visit.

That’s it from Fleetwood 2011, however I recently signed up to The H.A.M.B so don’t be surprised if I end up hanging around a few more large scale classic events before the summer is out provided I can fit everything in.

But this one is a little different as it’s got a Mercedes AMG 5.5L V8 supercharged motor under the hood putting down 443 HP and 481 lb/ft torque at the wheels.

Site Updates

I’ve spent a couple nights this week cutting stickers for a show out in the Philippines, which is pretty cool because I didn’t know I had a fan base out there, it’s at the end of the month and they are going to send pics after so I am looking forward to that.

Rob’s International feature is still doing incredible numbers, and was posted on Falken Tires facebook fan page this week, awesome.

I am nearly done the first of two articles about that Diablo replica as well, should have the one wrapped up this weekend… 1000 or so words without sounding long winded is tough but so far so good.

But first, tomorrow I am working on my car and throwing on my Dominant Engineering camber arms, then painting my calipers. Early next week I will roll my front fenders to match the rears and then after that I think I am out of things to do excuses for not putting on my wheels.

Flashback Friday

One thing I didn’t realize until reading some forums where Rob’s feature was linked back from was that he was the owner of the Northstar swapped Cavalier that had 22s on the back and 20s up front. This makes sense though since that car blew my mind almost as much as his International does.
