There are a few builds out in California and perhaps couple more in Florida but now Arizona as a boso build to call their own.

The owner of this B2200, who is a member of the Alabama Racing Scene forums, doesn’t really seem to be taking this build too seriously but at the same time is taking it pretty serious.

Maybe the best way to describe it is something that started as a joke but began to evolve into something much more.

The owner also has an STI, a Fiat, and a Triumph so I don’t think he is ultimately too worried how this thing turns out.

The most obvious update this week would be the redesign of the site but in addition to that I have already been alerted to 4 shows for 2012, a couple of which I might have some part in, details as the begin to materialize.

Also I guess the groundhog said spring is going to come soon so I have to get on a few projects for my car, nothing major though.

Turns out this is actually the second Boso build to be posted here, this was the first.

James the owner of the Boso box in that post sums everything up pretty well “its for sure a love or hate style of modding”.

I messaged him later saying the farthest I have ever seen one get is parked up on it’s bumper or dragging bumper in a three wheel.

However, it would appear that if you three wheel a square body s-10 blazer there isn’t really anything stopping you from going ass over tea kettle while bending them corners.

Caught up on sticker orders once again this morning and also stocked up on envelopes as I was running out of ones that fit second edition of the “I Like Em Dropped” sticker.

Got a few interesting proposals both local and abroad in my mailbox to take a look at as well but first I got areply from the city about the roadwork that put a flat spot in my Equip so I will follow up on that.

Posted up a red e30 on the fanpage this week and someone responded perfect, made me think of this one.

In the original post an e21 Theme Tuesday was suggested… I need to write that one down.

In my search for ground scraping Dodge Omnis and Daytonas I stumbled upon this SRT-4 swapped Chrysler Town and Country that is completely stock inside and out other than the drive train.

The donor SRT-4 looks like it had a run in with a pole so it was up for auction as was the original Town and Country that’s 2.2 turbo engine went up in smoke so two and two made four, and then eight as the builder ramped up the difficulty by keeping things like the abs, srt4 key fob, and dimmer via ignition for the interior lights intact.

The build thread is here and Jalopnik reported the car up for sale in 2011 so I wonder where it is now?

With SRT suspension this car, in theory, could be slammed to the ground. That would kill it as a sleeper though.

Some of you may have noticed that certain items in the store are getting low in stock or are just plain out of stock. This is somewhat by design as I plan to do another ‘vote for the next color’ type of posting on here and facebook so I know what colors to order for 2011.

I am hoping to have the sticker color selection posts go up the week of the redesign, which I have picked a launch date for but will not announce just yet in case I further procrastinate.

Mangled fenders, missing center caps, and just an odd overall stance (even for a donk) make this car look quickly pieced together.

Today’s trike isn’t just a little weird it is a lot of crazy and comes from @clintjollygreen via twitter.

Clint spotted this single turbo 2jz powered trike at an Ama superbike race in Wisconsin.

The builder who he describes as an older gentleman was originally going to power this with the very reliable Chevy 350 until he decided to throw caution to the wind and do something different.

You see this in your rear view... what do you do?

I Have not had much of a chance to work on the new design since last week but plan to bang out a few more lines of code this weekend.

I’m also working on a new feature which I am going to hopefully wrap up this weekend and I’ve just been invited to check out a local custom shop so that should help break the winter up nicely as well.

Yesterday while giving the thread one last read through the following incident randomly jumped from the recesses of my mind.

Since it happened in 2009 I forget the exact chain of events I read at the time but the pictures do a great job of filling in the blanks.

The following is what happens when you acknowledge you have a gas leak but then proceed to do nothing about it and continue to drive around aired out.

Well there is your problem right there someone cut a hole in the bed.

I guess its not all together ridiculous.Intrepids can’t be worth all that much these days and they do happen to have very large engine bays.

I’ve also came to learn that the exhaust tunnel can double for a drive shaft tunnel provided you route the exhaust elsewhere.

I suppose like most of the swaps I post on Fridays the question isn’t why, it is why not? I can’t really think of a good reason not to put the motor in there if you have both kicking around.

The yellow accenting though… I wouldn’t have put that on there and I may have perhaps forgone the blower for more of a sleeper look like this one (yes there is more than one).

Not too late to late to get your favorite Canadian auto blogger and Audi A3.

The original posters plan was to run a multiple piece rectangular tank stack and there has been a lot of helpful (key word) discussion about how he should go about doing so safely.

Many mentioning the importance of pressure testing the tanks to avoid blow outs like this.

The following is a set of chrome tanks that blew up after a week or so of 200psi.

A few people mentioned how odd it was the plastic fittings had no issues

I found these photos over on layitlow.com where there has been quite a bit of discussion regarding chrome tanks.

Imagine this happened while the guy was driving or working on the car? Air ride is serious business.

This is the tank setup the original posted settled on after testing the setup which he says won’t see over 150psi.

The original posters final setup pressure tested up to 190psi and 155 PSI for 24hrs

And this just might be one of the best looking tank setups I have ever seen.

Less than a week before Christmas… doubtful an A3 will show up under the tree.

This once Vette known as the Scorpion (not to be confused with the Skorpion) is the result of 6 years of work and made up of a combination of fiberglass and hand crafted sheet metal.

The craftsmanship seems to be there but the eye for an appealing end result? Not so much.

Monday I’ll have some words and pictures from my visit with Tall Pines Rally winner Crazy Leo.

Not exactly ‘stance’ related but it is one of those awesome opportunities I just couldn’t turn down, hope to do more random automotive things like that during the off season.

I am also working on a few recap posts of the 2011 event season along with some year end features. 2011 seems to be racing out the door though so hopefully I can get it all done.

Also I need some help with the American compact Theme Tuesday if any of you have some photos of nice looking Omni’s, Chevettes, Escorts etc.

I mentioned the Skorpion up above and the first time I saw that car was at Cruisin’ For The Cure 2009 in Brampton so I’ll toss back to that coverage.

The show was pretty small but it had a pair of cars I had never seen before a Heinkel Micro car and a 1981 HM Vehicles Freeway.

Weird little things.

This truck is a great example of the extreme measures people were (and still are) willing to take to get their ‘perfect stance’.

I remember a lot of things about this truck (the extreme body drop, the fender humps, and the Fiero wheels) but a couple of the other details completely slipped my mind.

For example I forgot the owner had to build a tube frame for the truck because he drug the previous frame to smithereens, and most surprisingly I somehow forgot that the whole rear clip of a Fiero was thrown out back making it a mid/rear engine truck.

It’s a good thing the hilariously dated 2004 tripod page detailing the build is still live and while the pics I pulled from it are postage stamp sized you get the jist:

Makes more sense to get in through the roof than the doors

Fiero rear clip, wedged between a slightly widened Blazer rear

No need for a roll man when you have no bumper

The proportions look quite odd with that much of the bottom missing

I have no idea if this truck was ever finished, or if the Fiero motor ever moved it so to the older minitruck guys reading this if you know what happened to this truck or have pictures please share.

Fabrication aside the owner/builder deserves a round of applause for just getting through the amount of hate that comes along with telling people you are going to dress a 97 Mustang Cobra in 94 Acura clothes.

Admittedly I skimmed the 46 page build thread pretty quickly last night (I went back this morning to read in greater detail and I am currently on page 22)  but not fast enough to the point where I didn’t see the owner field every question and negative criticism with a level head. More people need to take criticism on the internet as well as this guy.

Surprisingly the wheel base of the Cobra and the wheelbase of an Integra are not all that far apart so his plan of attack was fairly straight forward, he cut off the ‘Stang from about the rockers up and did the same to the Integra.  With a little bit of American voodoo, a welder, some determination (and no doubt a BFH) he made it all work.

Someone on the fan page mentioned that yesterdays 911 didn’t have much to do with stance. Long time readers will note that I’ve always been pretty loose with the stance definition though as is evident by the fact I posted this in 09.

The original WTF Friday post I did on that kart shortly has been one of the most popular posts on the site, period.

It has drawn collectors from all over looking to exchange information about these extremely rare pieces of drag racing history and automotive ridiculousness.

The popularity of that post lead to today’s kart showing up in my inbox, and while the owner was fairly Spartan on the details he did share that he purchased the kart a few years ago in Chicago and can confirm that this one has never been run.

Unlike the blue one I posted previously of which there seems to be some dispute about whether or not it was a factory direct kart this one seems to be (as far as I can tell and feel free to correct me) one of the ‘original 7′.

Notice how this Kart has much different brackets attaching the tank and the entire assortment of gizmos required to get the kart to move down the track

The extremely rare rocket pods are also mounted differently than the blue one

Someone put this away knowing it was going to be worth something one day

With stories of these karts blowing up, getting confiscated by municipalities, and generally falling off the earth (or launching into orbit?) it is pretty cool that the community of these kart owners has decided to share some of their information with me so I can share it here.

Now if I can only convince one of them to take a ride down the strip in one…. (video of someone (Jack McClure?) doing just that back in the day here)

The feature of Aidan’s VIP inspired IS300 has been getting a lot of traffic and comments latlely so I will throw it back to that this week.

His cars gone through quite a few changes since but I still really like how it looked here.

Being Remeberance day in Canada today it wouldn’t be right of me to end this off without saying a thank you to those who fought and continue to fight for this country. 11/11/11/11 – ‘Lest We Forget‘

You’ve got to give it to the builder Steve Bashford for keeping this Pacer as factory looking as possible while turning it into a balls to the wall drag car that runs down the quarter mile in 10 seconds.

Steve’s recipe for a silly quick Pacer was pretty simple: get a 9,000 mile Pacer that everyone looked over when building Waynes World replicas and stuff an LS7 crate motor in it with a Powerglide transmission and Ford rear end behind it.

Of course while doing this he also had suspension and cage work done by Advance Chassis and went that extra mile to make sure that none of the aftermarket additions took away from the cars um… iconic look.

I’ve been looking at a lot of SEMA coverage this week which really makes me regret not going again, my feet and wallet are pretty happy I didn’t though.

Anyway here are a few photos from my coverage last year (clicking each pic will take you to that coverage) along with a link back to all of it at the bottom.

Stance Is Everything at SEMA 2010 I’m going back 2012 or you can all call me out for lying.

However after clicking through to the shops car domain page I was quite impressed at the work that lay underneath.

While the final products are not be something I would drive I am very impressed at the workmanship behind all of these builds.

To help illustrate my point here are the first photos I saw:

Most of you looking at these photos probably had a similar reaction to my own, the Trans Am looks a bit like K.I.T.T. after a mid life crisis, the Malibu is old meets new in an odd way, and the Elantra Accent is so far away from what Hydundai originally intended that I almost didn’t recognize it.

But looking at some of the progress pictures below its easy to tell that the builder is very capable with a welder and some metal and I know I wouldn’t be upset if this guy offered to teach me a few things about working with metal.

The rear end, front end, sides and wide body on the Accent is actually done with more metal than filler

Even the bumper is entirely made of sheet metal and not fibreglass

The shop has even taken to building what resembles an armoured A-Team Van

I know a few local body shops (I’m looking at you Mazda Warranty approved shops) that could learn a thing or two from this guys attention to detail.

Or in this case a wild car with TWO crazy power plants between the frame rails.

UK based Fast Car Magazine recently did a feature on this car and since I follow them on twitter it popped up in my feed and immediately blew me away.

I’ve posted a couple twin mill (and twin supercharged) cars before but I think this one takes the cake as the two supercharged v8s in this Ford T-Bucket not only look imposing the make a combined 1007 horsepower.

The builder Gordon Tronson is pretty interesting too, he moved from New Zealand to Canada and began building Lamborghini replicas (sound familiar?) until he got slapped with a lawsuit in 1990. Not wanting to stop building cool cars he moved again and started up a tele-com business to fund crazy creations just like this.

This man knows how to get his priorities in order.

Rick Ross had two seizures, this guy has two motors, I think there is a new Boss in town

The motors are joined with a Gates Poly Chain Carbon belt and sprocket drive and a Ford C5 trans
