I’ve got a serious amount of photos from Tuners Against Street Racing to sort through and I knew I wasn’t going to have them edited and posted before I left for work today so for this Monday morning I thought I would share what a local, female, BBS/Euro/Slam lover has been doing with her set of custom 17X9 et 20 and 17X10.5 et 28 pink BBS RS wheels.

The final destination of these wheels was an e46 but they made a few different stops along the way…

Originally these wheels were fit to a bagged, silver, Golf which I’m sure most of you have seen here or on other sites around the web:

At Vagkraft 2009

Dat ass

This is the picture I used for my girls with hot cars Theme Tuesday from awhile back

After the wheels were taken off the GTI they were milled and re drilled to fit BMWs and had a quick stop on this Z4

The pink on these wheels is crazy bright

and after the z4 they ended up at their final home on this e46.

While she’s not entirely done with the stance in the rear she is off to a great start since she has already made a few BMW guys uncomfortable…

That air freshener kills me

Sittin low

The wheel build is here for those who are interested in how they ended up looking how they do today

Not sure why it took me this long to do a Theme Tuesday dedicated to e36s but it did, so without further adieu here is something for the e36 lovers. Warning you will see lots and lots of style 5′s in this post, but that’s not a bad thing.

I also included a few local e36s in the mix.

Local Boys

Let’s start things off with a few of the local e36 guys who are doing things right

This owner of this car was cocky as hell and claimed the lowest e36 in Ontario for awhile...

He was shortly, more humbly dethroned by this gentleman

As usual cars from all over the great internet

Don't always need an M bumper to look good, more people should rock BBS RCs

Red on gold will never get old

Green on green isn't bad either, really like this one

F**in bomb

Tired of style 5s yet? No? Me either

This is rare, normally the white rims are dirtier than the car...

That’s it for now but ti fans don’t worry, I have started collecting pics for an e36ti Theme Tuesday all ready.

I believe all car enthusiasts should attempt some level of DIY on their vehicles however one should take the time to research their project and make sure that it something that they can handle without supervision.

By no means should anyone half ass their DIY job as bad as these people…

I guess if you really need one fog light and have a motorcycle tire hanging around...

I guess this would reduce trunk rattle?

Wow just, wow, office supplies meet the garage

Not sure how anyone could assume this is a good idea, common sense is not common

Site Updates

To all of the bloggers I contacted earlier this month I am going to be working on “that” article this weekend so no you didn’t send me your information in vain :)

In addition to writing this article I will be also working on a mini feature for Monday so that’s something to look forward too as well.

I’m also going to be making steps towards launching a big cartel store this weekend as my new batch of stickers has arrived and I optimistically anticipate the demand for them will be more than I can handle just through the gmail account.

Finally site traffic has hit another milestone all by itself with no real additional promotion by me so that’s pretty rad.

Thanks again for everyone who checks this site daily, weekly, monthly, or even yearly keeps me going.

Flashback Friday

Local e30 wheel fitment guru Jay (Mystikal) is selling his 1994 Dakar Yellow m3 which he says is on stock suspension (I know shocked me too) so I figured I would throw it back to when I made a post about his Trevors now sold e30.

According to Jay the 95s sat lower and all he had to do was remove spring pads to get this stance

Check out the blast from the past to: “GTA BMW Love” by clicking here or the photo and check out Jays Dakar Yellow e36 M3 sale thread here.

See y’all next week though I might do another Random Dopeness/Sunday Swag this Sunday if time allows….

Long time readers of Stance Is Everything might remember a post awhile back of a local Black E36 slammed on style 5′s titled “This Is How It’s Done“.

In that post I mentioned that the car would appear here again and Doogee came back hard this season after spending the winter polishing his style 5s and tweaking a few other exterior bits.

The changes this year are subtle, Bosch headlights, the return of amber taillights, and the aforementioned polishing of the epic fitting style 5s. Work was done, and it was done well.

Polished the lips on these wheels really pops

Fitment remains epic

So glad warm weather is coming back

Amber tails replace last years clears

This is Doogees sig on max, it kills me

Once again e36 owners I hope you are taking notes, because this is beauty.

I saw this video on maxbimmer.com and I can safely say that it’s not a ride that I would want to go one, although it looks like if someone was eventually able to flag the truck driver down that the occupants in the car would be ok.

The video in question:

There are two schools of thought on what has happened here on maxbimmer:

  1. The owner of the car cut off the truck driver while traveling in his blind spot causing the truck to essentially perform a pit maneuver on the small car which moved the car from one blind spot to another. Since it’s raining its possible that the driver doesn’t notice to much resistance and that the noise isn’t incredibly loud. This all seems hard to believe and yet it is occurring in the video so…

  2. The second thought is that truck driver has had a really bad day and enough of people cutting him off over the years and has therefore lost his “cot dang” mind.

I’m not sure where one would find the true answer but I am leaning towards number 1. Either way it’s unbelievable.

The stickers are now on their way to me so I can show you guys the other two designs that are more for the auto-x/race crowd.

Flashback Friday

Since I just saw this car and got to meet it’s owner at Performance World I figured it would be a good time to do a Flashback Friday do the ‘What Is Fonixx?’ post

Sic Ryde always looks clean

Anyway my lip is back on, the weather is nice, and I am going to enjoy the weekend… until it rains.

Today’s blast from the past doesn’t really go all that far back, just to a time when GTA e30s were low with wheels were sunk into fenders.

Though now sold this alpine white e30 will be remembered as one of the first e30s in the GTA do go down and out.

While I don’t quite remember the first time Leonard popped up on maxbimmer.com I do remember the reaction he got when he posted pictures of his 325is. Jaws dropped and people gawked. No one could deny that hate it or love it this car was pushing the boundaries of GTA e30 tuning at the time.

Slammed on KW Variant 2′s Leonard’s car sat on 16×9.5 and 16×10.5 BBS Rs wheels with an et of 0 and -3 respectively. These now rare wheels (production stopped in about 91 or so) were originally seven inches wide and shipped in all the way from Germany to the USA before Leonard picked them up.

To get these wheels to fit the rear fenders had to be rolled, flared, and cut, in addition to running serious amounts of camber.

I still remember my girlfriend asking me what was wrong with his wheels the first time we drove behind him on a max cruise, funny to think about that now since she’s pretty up on slams now though she won’t admit it.

It wasn’t just the wheels, height, and m-tech add-ons that set this car apart from the crowd like Randy was one of the first people to run HIDs in smoked ellipsoids on an e30. This was a big deal since at this time HID kits were still pretty costly.

The Euromobile

Leonard also had one of the most immaculate e30 I.C.E. trunk setups I have ever seen. He did it all himself and it looked very good in person.

Having thought my setup was pretty clean this one made me down right jealous, not to mention it was done to match his equally gorgeous interior.

Amazing set up

V.I.P. e30?

Once Leonard’s original m20 motor gave up the ghost (thanks to a pooched head gasket) Leonard went to RMP Motors and had an s50 power plant and 5sp manual transmission swapped in.

This swap made this car a complete package and helped quiet the people who were grumbling about the car being all show and no go.

s50 swapped in

I’m not sure where this car ended up after he sold it but thankfully Leonard is a gifted photographer and images of his e30 threads all over the internet (most notably vwvortex).

Enjoy the collection of photos I was able to scrounge up of this car.

What's to hate?

Leonard had a knack for choosing great locations

I might write about the purple mtech in another blast from the past

I also happened to find this video of Leonard in winter mode (all year round!) on youtube.

UPDATE:

Leonard was nice enough to send me a photo of the car the last he saw it. Seems that the MTECH wheels have been removed as well as the BBS RS wheels. While still very nice looking I much preferred how it looked before.

I am going to guess these wheels are either Type A’s or B-1s.

Being Canada’s largest bmw community maxbimmer.com is known for having a few nice rides, however it’s been minute since someone on Max built up a simple, clean, low, e36. Doogee has been a max member for awhile now and every time he started a new thread with photos of his car I saved them for a future e36 Theme Tuesday. When he got a new set of wheels and spun his coil overs down I knew that this car deserved a post all to itself.

Doogee’s 328is has undergone a remarkable transformation over the last year or so. After being rear ended by a preoccupied young driver he took his car to one of the best shops in the city and got it repaired to essentially factory, if not better, condition.  At this point the car already had a few appearance and performance related modifications however the car really caught my attention when he pulled out his H&R sports and installed Bilstein PSS9s.

With an M bumpers, a new stance, Kosei K-1s, and a bunch of performance mods including: an M50 manifold, AA intake, Remus Exhaust, X brace, sway bars, and a reinforced sub frame it seemed like Doogee was just about done with this e36 modification wise and ready to make the jump to an m3 (some argue he might not actually notice a difference at this point).

That was until he found a set of oem style 5′s and lowered his car a bit more. His new look proves once again that not only are style 5′s one of the best oem BMW rims ever made (M parallels are another), but that you don’t need much more than subtle mods, clean paint, dope wheels and a perfect stance to look dope.

A few weeks ago I promised to post Sam’s shots of the Maxbimmer Autumn e30 meet. Then I got sidetracked with some other posts today I make good on my promise and liberate these photos from my stanceiseverything@gmail inbox. Enjoy.

Autocross

Before the e30 meet there was BMW Club of Canada, Trillium Chapter autocross event I really wanted to make it out this event since I have still yet to auto cross myself but I had a wedding the night before and was therefore out of commission in the early morning. Sam however went to the event to participate and shoot some action shots.

One downside to the automotive hobby is that it’s generally one big sausage fest and when an adventurous woman does try to break into the scene she is either not taken seriously, hit on relentlessly, or both which is unfortunate because this often sends these women right back out of the hobby. Some girls however are dedicated enough to pursue past the bullshit and continue on. Stephanie, the owner of this feature ride, rolls her Black 335i with vanity plates the read Blak WIDW (Black Widow) and like a black widow spider she isn’t one to play with or take lightly.

Not only does she roll with punches of the male dominated maxbimmer.com crowd better than a lot of the fellas she also drives a car that’s so tastefully modded it’s no doubt sent a few guys back to the parts catalog to reconsider their modifications for next year.

Stephanie is no stranger to the automotive scene, she’s been modifying cars since she was of legal to drive (16 for you out of town folk). Her previous ride was a hand built boosted Civic that laid waste to anyone ready to underestimate it and her. After having enjoyed Civic nation for a few years Stephanie made the jump from Honda to BMW with a slammed (black of course) e36 convertible, and then upgraded once again to her current 335i.

Stephanie’s 6 speed, black sapphire metallic, premium sport package convertible, with a coral red interior with aluminum accents that puts down 300hp/300lb of torque from the factory was thing of beauty when it rolled off the line at BMW however the modifications Stephanie has done to this car make you wonder why the designers at BMW didn’t consult Stephanie before rolling out the concept.

The exterior was treated to an OEM BMW Aero-lip, yellow fogs, tints, and shadow lined trim, and after having some issues with the stock wheels cracking repeatedly (GTA roads FTL) 19″ staggered VMR V710 wheels (8.5″ front with 225/35s and 9.5″ rear with 255/30s) were put on and the stance of the car was properly addressed with H&R sport springs factory sport struts.

Motor wise the car is chipped wit a JB3 and now puts down numbers in the range of 400hp.

Having grown tired of the drag racing scene Stephanie’s next modifications are more lapping focused and her future plans include: KW V3 suspension, an upgraded front mount inter cooler, downpipes, and a full exhaust system.

Big thanks the Stephanie for submitting in a great set of photos for her feature and a nice list of modifications which made writing this article really easy and finally for allowing me to feature her car.

Even though I don’t drive an e30 anymore I still have my ear to the ground when it comes to what’s going on in the community, so I watched this years thread about the Autumn e30 meet on max and figured it would be worth making an appearance. The turnout was awesome and I am really glad I made it out, it was a good excuse to  kill an afternoon, reminisce, and do some ‘spirited’ driving.
