I’ve been wanting to take a trip out to Cayuga for awhile and I have been wanting to go to a CSCS event for just as long so it figures that when I finally had the time to go to one the weather was a mixed bag of nuts. The weather eventually led to the cancellation of the drag racing and had the show and shine guys spent more time drying their cars than showing them but I still took quite a few pics. I am going to start breaking up my event coverage into easier to load pieces (about 30 photos per post) so this is part 1 of the coverage; Random stuff, Drag, Paddock Cars, and Drifters.
Random Stuff
Like every other show I go to I took pics of interesting things that caught my eye, Zombieland taught me to appreciate the little things, go see that movie by the way.
SmileAny relation to Lil John? YEEEEEEEEEEEEAHThis is a little weird since there was a lot of JDM at ImportfestGood to know there are other Transformers fans in the sceneSadly this sticker isn't really true 🙁This little cart pulled around the Jr DragsterCan anyone explain this?
Drag Cars
I Didn’t get a lot of drag pictures at all since whenever I went over there it seemed to be raining and when it wasn’t I was eating, I plan on going to a few drags next year so you 1/4 junkies will have to stick around for awhile.
This Civic was looking pretty serious, never got to see it run thoughAnother Civic from the same crewQuicksnap of a tm3 member lining up in between bites of my hot dog
Paddock Cars
These cars were either lapping or competing in the un-registered hard parking (spectating like myself) event .
Hype-R making its way to the trackI think I saw this beautiful rx-7 run a few lapsAnother nice rotaryLast time I saw this guy was at tuners against street racing, wheel fitments on pointNice color scheme goin hereVery nice Audi waiting to do a few hot lapsNextmod reppin as always
Drifters
The Drift event was pretty interesting due to the ever changing track conditions. Some people who did well during practice didn’t do so well during qualifying and vice-versa. I didn’t get to stick around for the finals so I don’t know who won…
S1DC crewSkyline getting sideways when the sun was outCool to see a turbo brick out thereChris doing it for the e30 crewSome tandem action in the wetSome more wet tandem actionTried my hand at some sequencesThey made us move after this, I guess we could have been run over
That’s it for now, check back later today for photos of the cars in the Show & Shine
The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that suit the vehicles intent). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: Mean Miatas
I’m fully capable of admitting when I’m wrong, and as young lad I was wrong in my assumption that Miatas were a chick car, in my defense my attractive female neighbor did drive one.
However sometime after I saw my first 5.0 swapped Miata I decided to do a little research on these small Mazdas and my tune completely changed. Miatas are a real ‘drivers’ car and since starting this blog I have come across quite a few magnificent looking ones, here are a few.
Judging by the garage and car in the background I am willing to bet this guy has a few toysWho needs chrome?Blue on black works perfectThis car looks like it means business and the works suit the look wellMurder MiataA Local Miata I shot at HT-6, Work Equip 03s ftwI normally don't like wheels with less than 5 spokes but this car I make an exceptionOh and on this car as wellThe lights up totally changes the look of these carsThe slamburglars crew is serious about slamBright rimmed RHD MiataSlideways on more equipsMiatas are really at home on grip courses too but drifting shots are more excitingSay no to sportmaxx?More kickin it outThis is how you do flip flop paint (subtly)I have never seen Kosei K-1s in this color before but this car looks really hotThis little Mazda has a big surpriseThis motor looks right at home in the Miata bayShout outs to Bishop for making me aware of this awesome sticker
As always if you want to see a certain theme for next week let me know via the comments.
Sometimes I think the idea of six degrees of separation isn’t just an idea or theory but an actual fact of life, and this featured ride is a perfect example.
I sent the picture to my friend Keven who told me that the car was actually owned by his girlfriends father Dale this set the wheels in motion to get this Impala the shine time it deserves on Stance Is Everything.
Dale saved this 62 Impala from becoming a potential rats nest in the confines of a dusty barn in Vancouver British Columbia and transformed it into the beautiful piece of machinery you see before you today.
The impala in one of Mississauga's many industrial areas before the weather went sourThis Impala is the nicest car to sit in this spot
Once Dale picked up the car he chose to go the resto-mod route which meant the first stop was the paint booth for a little TLC.
Like previous feature Eugene's Firebird Impalas are also capable of pulling off a teal interiorThese center rear seat speakers are an iconic Impala featureNot wanting to disrupt the flow of the interior the new CD player and voltmeter live in a hidden compartment
Once the interior and exterior got some love a stealth air ride system was added along with oversize torque thrust wheels which compliment the freshly rejuvenated chrome bumpers and trim.
The trunk in full stealth mode with the air ride setup neatly tucked awayHowever with the vintage luggage removed the setup is easily accessible, a lot of time went into finding period fitting luggageOne of the biggest advantages of an air ride setup is the ability to ride Cali style in the GTA
The Impala is noe Dale’s weekend toy which he loves to show off at local Toronto area cruise ins.
If that's not stance I really don't know what isThe Torque Thrusts compliment the chrome grill and bumper perfectlyI should take a second to mention that Keven knows his way around an SLR and took all these photosThe Impala profile will never go out of styleKev said they couldn't go anywhere without turning headsThere were actually two separate photo shoots of this carI can't get over how nicely this car flowsParting shot
In one final example of six degrees of separation Dale’s wife is a flight attendant who happened to have Chip Foose on one of her flights, and after a few how do you do’s Dale is now the owner of a personally signed marker and pen illustration of his Impala.
Some guys have all the luck.
Thanks to Keven for shooting these photos for me, and Dale for allowing us to feature his ride.
Expect to see a lot more photos from Keven on this site as he is about as down as it gets in support for this blog.
As always if you want your car featured send me an email at [email protected]
Anyone remember the game Crazy Taxi? It was a pretty good arcade game back in the Cruis’n USA days. Since I live close to the only surviving Playdium I played a lot of crazy taxi, this doesn’t really have much today with today’s post other than the fact that these are some Crazy Taxis.
I am not sure what country modified taxi’s are from but it seems like it’s not a one off deal. Modifying a taxi seems a little counter productive since I couldn’t imagine people liking it when you slow down to a crawl to get over a speed bump so the kit on your taxi doesn’t scrape but what do I know.
What I want out of every taxi I am are giant stickers obscuring the drivers visionBitch community, perhaps a females car?The seem to get North American music wherever they are however spelling is optionalVolcom Stone! Is that a snorkel or exhaust? Going up to the roof?Racing to the next fareIf I was a passenger I would cover my face as well
Ninja Edit: Hey guys I forgot this earlier but another great week here at Stance Is Everything, daily traffic keeps going up by leaps and bounds and I am gathering a few comments each week as well which means people are participating in discussions. This Saturday I plan to head out to the last CSCS event (weather permitting) for some new event coverage content for Wed and on Monday I have a sick exclusive feature car get stoked!
Or a little right of the norm, whichever you prefer, either way these cars are not typical of the Stance Is Everything norm but still fly none the less.
Old Ram Van on RS Watanabes, this would make a cool road trip vanI didn't know K-1s came in Yaris fitment, probably the only Yaris I will ever postI've never seen a vintage econoline like this on the road but it's good to know they look good lowEconoline trucks pickups get the same treatmentIt's funny 90s Boyd Coddington (R.I.P.) wheels look dated on minitrucks but alright on this Golf, how unexpectedStance everything.Everything.
Years ago I came across a Lexus LS in my dads neighborhood that made had me questioning how someone could drive so low. Ever since that day I took the route too my dads house that passed by where I originally saw the car. VIP-esque cars were and are still pretty rare around here so I had made sure to get as many viewings as possible. I saw the car go through 2 sets of wheels then I never saw it again…
Thanks to the internet, and stickers on this car that read “SicRyde.com” and What is Fonnixx? stickers. I’ve been able to track down this low flying Lexus LS.
Murder Mode
The first time I saw this car was at night and I am not sure how I saw it since it didn’t have a single spec of chrome to be seen.
The first time I saw this Lexus it was blacked out like thisBefore switching to VIP style this was one of the first blacked out cars I ever saw
Chrome Neepers
Chrome Neepers were the shit back in the day but even when the 504 Boyz were running the show I knew that to rock 20s hard you had to lay low, thankfully this car is lower than low.
Sic Ryde On 20sThese Neepers are some of the biggest looking 20s I have ever seen
Rolling video on the 20″ Neepers
Chrome Niche Game’s
To my surprise the owner of this car keeps his cardomain up to date and I was able to nab some pictures of the car in this revision. I never saw it like this in person and these are probably my least favorite wheels of the bunch but its still ballin’ out of control.
20" Niche Game Wheels came nextI wonder what show this was taken at
Twenty Twos
Stepping the game up for 2009 the car now rolls on 22″ wheels, I am sure a lot of work went into choosing these wheels and looking at the car now it’s hard to imagine driving it on a regular basis.
The stance, grill, smoke headlights, and turns are the only constants on this rideNow this car is sitting on 22x9" rims245/30/22 riding on wide rubber bandsTuckin significant rim out backThis car rides on K sport coilovers NOT airbags
One thing that bugs me is that after all this time the Fonnixx and SicRyde.com sites still don’t answer the question of what exactly are they? I think i am going to holler at the owner and find out.
The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that fit the vehicles overall theme). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: Murdered out rides
Dan’s GLX got me thinking that I love black on black or “Murdered Out” rides. I came sort of close with my truck but I never got to do the look the full justice it deserves, all of today’s cars however have this look down to a tee.
I'm not sure what looks more menacing the plane or the carThis car added some blood to the murder mix*Jaw hits floor*Murdered v8 240Wonder how often those glass packs scrapeWay better than a family vanYou could probably fit a few bodies back thereSay what you will about Domestics but I would drive this SRT-8 any dayTakes a special type of enthusiast to take a car like the Carrera GT and black it outBlack on black means you can spend more time driving less time cleaning rimsRauh Welt produces a lot of merked powerhousesThis Ford flex would make a great road trip vehicleZO6AMG black widowUnderground Racings TT Gallardo, apparently the fastest in the world
