Tow truck drivers are an interesting bunch, I’ve had both the pleasure and displeasure of using their services at different times in my life. If nothing else anytime you get into a tow truck you are going to have a memorable experience. However I hate ‘chasers’, chasers are the tow truck drivers who race to an accident first to ‘claim’ the cars they often drive erratically and can cause more accidents themselves. Today’s WTF Friday is an example of just that.
The general word on the street as to what happened is that the tow truck driver in question was doing 140km in a 60km zone trying to make it to a fatal car crash first, in his haste he was almost in a fatal car crash himself.
The driver escaped with minor injuries and power was taken out of the area for a little bit but it was all restored. Cost the tax payers 20,000 though…
This really could have been worse and its a miracle that no one was seriously injured or killed. But man wtf 140 in a 60?
The Function vs Form article I wrote has been fairly popular and even got a retweet from Speedhunters which is great because I have been trying to get my foot in the door relationship wise with them for awhile, Bryans T-bird has also rightfully garnered a lot of traffic.
In sticker news I ordered 90 more yesterday the colors are as follows:
Once they arrive I will let you all know how to get them. I am thinking about setting up pay pal donations this time just so I can put the proceeds into more stickers sort of like a perpetual motion machine. Anyway TGIF!
Some call them “chasers” I call them scum/low lifes. Seems like the only nice tow truck drivers are the CAA ones since they don’t try hustling you for tows!
I have a tow truck driver on my street. He’ll randomly just rip it down the street, fly around the corner and blast the stop sign.
Vultures I tell ya.
CAA drivers are amazing!
CAA has saved my ass countless times.
