Cars like this are the reason that I am glad I started this blog. When I originally saw this car on jdmrides.ca I thought it was amazing and sent it to a few friends but really wished I had a chance to share it with more people since I think cars like these make the hobby more interesting.

Thankfully the one year old thread was bumped recently and the pictures were still live so I can now share this ride with a larger audience.

Jake Blackman’s Civic SI’s exterior is perfect example of the oem plus tuning style that Derek Kreindler is so fond of, and under the hood hides a big surprise.

Looking at this car how much horse power do you think it makes? 150? 200? 250?

Well if you guess 900hp, could you please guess some lotto numbers for me as well? When I first saw this dyno sheet I stared at it in awe and amazement for a good five minutes.

I’ve heard of a wolf in sheep’s clothing before but this is on an entirely different level.

In track trim the car looks a bit different but still I can just imagine a few unsuspecting car owners just getting obliterated by this car.

Racing a car with this much power on the streets would be ludicrous so he does it at the track

The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that suit the vehicles intent). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: EG Hatches

I have Joe from The Chronicles to thank (blame?) for this Tuesdays Theme, he recently did a photo shoot of a pretty unique EG Hatch that got me thinking that EGs would make a good theme, today’s clean Civics are such a nice change from the rice buckets of yore.

I think this car really comes together nicely and it looks like it could go pretty good as well

I'm normally not a huge fan of cf lips but it works here

I knew a guy with an EG sedan this color and I thought it could never look good, eggs on my face!

Is it me or does this car look like it has an evil grin?

I started working on the feature for my old truck this morning (yay?) but I realized that I have out my license plates in most of them because I am super paranoid like that and I couldn’t get them all done before work today, so ya it’s not up. However I figured this would be a good time to big up one of my favorite automotive blogs: The Chronicles

I know it seems somewhat counterproductive to shout out another blog but I really respect what Joe has going on over at The Chronicles and his blog is one of the main reason this blog exists. He noticed an niche that needed some exposure in the blog world (Hondas and Acuras) and set forth to represent for them and his scene without the bullshit. Which is the heart of what is going on here as well.

I check The Chronicles daily and coming from the average BMW owner mentality I was never really a Honda guy but thanks to cars like this, boards like these, and blogs like The Chronicles I have come to respect them.

Last Friday I asked the question WTF is this?

It's old, it's bagged, and it's JDM. What is it?

Well it’s a 1973 Toyota Strout. Never heard of it? Ya me either.

This side of the world Strouts quickly got renamed to “Hi-Lux” but over in the land of the rising sun they kept the ‘Strout’ name. This particular Strout is bagged, body dropped, and shaved and graced the cover of  Mini Truckin magazine.
