Well it seems there has been a changing of the guard for e36 convertibles in the GTA. Since the last one got sold it opened up the door for a new kid on the block. The new kid said to hell with the door and smashed down the wall Kool-Aid man style, this car is off the hook.
The owner of this ride spent a lot of time (and money) restoring the body and building the wheels you currently see on this car and it all paid off in spades. There have been a few e36 convertibles on Max that have done the low BBS game but I think this one just raised the bar so high trying to see it is equivalent to star gazing.
How many people do you know who rock that much dish in the front?Dialed fitment, dialed paint, dialed wheels
I am sure a lot of you may not have ever heard of a Lada let alone seen one in person (I have not) so when I Spotted this quick progressing build over on Maxbimmer.com I figured it was worth sharing since it proves that with a little drop and elbow grease damn near anything can look cool.
The unsuspecting Lada at purchaseAfter a trip to the detailer the original paint really came back to lifeLooking surprisngly good after a drop and some hub caps
Sickfinga is crazy about his weird European cars so I will have a watchful eye eye on this odd little build and keep you guys in the loop. There is talk of spacers next….
I have been to a few Street Classics shows before and I always have a good time so when I saw a flier for their Pre 1955, Hot Rods – Roadsters -Rat Rods, show I made sure to stick it on my fridge so I would remember to cover it.
While the show was smaller than previous Street Classics shows I had been too (due to age specification) the quality of cars was still amazing.
Stickers/Airbrushing
We young punks are not the only ones with a sense of humor
I seem to be seeing this sticker more latelyOld school stickers are so much funThis is the second time I have seen a painted on plate at a Hot Rod showLost timeNo woman no cryAwesomeIf you need any real fabrication this guy is the manThis song was played at least once during the dayAirbrushed Pontiac logo, pretty bossAirbrushed inside of the hood
Trucks
Vintage trucks just have a certain look about them that makes them unique. I think it has to do with the balance of round fenders with strong body lines.
And to think this was probably a work truck onceVintage hotnessThis truck is full of winThis Suburban was for sale, around 35 thousand if I recallThe most unique vehicle at the showBest hood ornament everPurpose builtShe moves
Led sleds
Chopped, dropped, and channeled, no bondo here
Flatblack, lake wood pipes, and flames, classic lead sledTo finish of the look this car just needs a floodlightFlat pearl paint helps the pin striping popThese cars are so hard to identify due to the amount of modsDumped.
Hot Rods
While technically all the cars on this page could fit into this category I am going to use it to separate the other rods from the Highboys and Lowboys
Bad ass Bel AirAttention to detail yields a clean trunk like thisA classic flame job fills out these fat fendersThe bra kills the front end but saves it at the same timeThe spilled coffee was fakeNot a rod but this guy dropped by for a little bit with this nice chopperBetter shot of the car with the painted on plateThis one was actually really small more so for a four doorHaha woodie. They sure don't design them this well anymoreI love the lines and wheelsI wonder how much these paint jobs cost, I guess if I have to ask...I bet this car goes like hell due to it's sizeTiny little thingLow shot of the this small rocketBel Air wagon
Ford Highboys and Lowboys
In this weeks Theme Tuesday I alluded to the fact that it was one inspired by an event. Well this was the event.
Inspiration for this weeks Theme TuesdayKiller profileClean HighboyI always loved the exposed gas tanksDouble the funClassic vintage hot rod styleThis car was so period correct I spent a lot of time looking at itThe white firewall and two tones of purple help bring it all togetherThis angle shows off the motor detail a bit betterBeautifulWouldn't expect this car to be towing a trailerThe beginning of a work of artThe finished work of artThe black ruby metallic pearl of the car in the foreground was immaculate
Hopefully I can make it this show again next year and see more classics.
The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that fit the vehicles overall theme). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: Ford Highboys and Lowboys
I’ve loved 32-33 Ford Highboys (fenderless) and lowboys (full fendered versions) since I was a kid and since I saw a few at a car show this weekend (coverage to follow later today) I figured why not post up a few awesome ones from across the internet today.
This 32 from American Graffiti is an iconic car to generations of gear headsAs cliche as flames are these days sometimes nothing suits a vehicle betterColor co-ordination works on any type of vehicleDon't call it a Rat RodThe classic moon eyes red/black themeSalt flat highboyAnother salt flat highboy, love the headlightsSmooth as glassLittle rough around the edges but it adds characterThis turns headsI bet this was exciting.
Part 2 of the, VAGKraft 2009, VW and Audi Car show at the Powereade Center in Brampton on August 16th 2009. This show had easily over 300 cars so the coverage suited a multiple part post.
Part 2 includes pictures of the mk4s, vendors, dyno runs and auto-x pictures.
Random
An overview of just some of the VAGkraft showThis is a pretty cool piece of VW memoribiliaI ride bmx but I would never been seen with a late 90s vertigo on my roofVAGkraft is a family affair

Some of the Vendors at VAGKraft had really nice set ups.
The source brought out a smashed mk2 golf and a clean cabbyThe air assisted crew had my favorite booth of the showThe rides the brought out were all super clean and super lowTuckBorderline immaculateOne of the best looking hatch setups I have seen in a bagged car
Auto-X
Tried my hand at taking some autocross pictures for the first time
Drivers meetingBodyrollThis Miata was hitting the practice hardA little too hard at pointsLil bit of oversteer never hurt anyoneMiatas are popular auto cross vehiclesCavalier's never struck me as nimble but this one seems alrightPorsche doing its rounds
Dyno Runs
Not often that shows bring out the portable dyno
Dyno's attract a crowdEverytime I headed over to take pictures the car on the dyno would just be sitting there...
Volkswagen owners are pretty much the originators of the slam, stretch, and poke so when I heard that Vagkraft was happening 10 minutes away from my house I had to attend. The weather once again co-operated and the turn out was great.
Part one includes: mk1s, mk2s, mk3sCorrados, Sciroccos, Beatles and non vws.
Mk1s
These old VWs don’t die, they just get lower
Chromed out, stock liped RMSBehind the chrome rim'd cab was this orange rim'd sedanThis car comes together quite nicelyThis guy was moving some furniture and decided to stop by
Mk2s
Perhaps the most commonly seen generation?
These e30 wheels are pretty rare so it was quite a shock to see them on this mk2A pair of orange rims made it on to this mk2This car probably has some get up and go to itMore e30/mk2 rim swappingFunny the mk2 with the flairs has the stock RMS

Corrado’s, Sciroccos and Beatles
Type a's are legitI love these carsGroovyI am actually surprised I did not see more bugs at the showFull fendered bug
Non VWs
Car shows always draw out every type of car no matter what the focus is.
Where do you even find someone selling Bentley rims? These wheels in this picture got lost in the shadows....... however this Audi had the same onesI have a feeling I am going to be seeing a lot of this carDrop dead sexyI had no idea these were so smallI love this clash of old and newThis bagged caddy was chillin in the parking lotIt was pretty legitThis car was loudEvery version of this car has been legitClassy e46 in the parking lotKind of redundant but pretty cool none the lessThis car used to be owned by a friend of mine, good to see its still in good hands
For those of you following along you already know that I think vans can rock stance just as hard as cars but I have not really said anything about scooters being able to do so. I know about the Honda Rukus movement that’s going on, but only in passing, and I have no intentions on ever owning one however I think this scooter with a VW bus sidecar is absolutely amazing and warrants a post regardless of suspension setup. I wonder how many drinks were involved when this was thought up.
Riding this around without drawing attention is probably impossible. Look the lights even work!Love the rag top roof covering up where I assume the passenger would go...
I can’t find a lot of additional info on this scooter so I don’t really know wtf inspired the person to build it which makes it perfect for wtf Friday!
This weekend there are three big shows in the GTA that I know about, and I am going to be hitting at least two of the three so expect lots of new original content on Monday and Tuesday. Get stoked!
I am sure some of you have noticed that the site has been crawling lately. The home page can take up to 14 seconds to load and sometimes the admin page takes 43 seconds. Lame and annoying.
Therefore on August 15th between between 8-12pm Eastern Daylight time I am going to try a few different ways to increase the performance of the site. Hopefully after that the site is back up to snuff. If not time to work on version 2.0
This picture has nothing to do with speed but I've been sitting on it for awhile so what the hell
The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that fit the vehicles overall theme). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: Civic EFs
Having just come from the 6th Honda Tech meet I figured what better time than now to post up some of the EF pics I have been collecting. As the years go by these cars are getting rarer and rarer due to the notorious Honda rot so let’s appreciate them while we can.
A KISS rule followerI'm normally not a fan of pin striping (on imports) or wheels with less than 5 spokes but this is an exceptionI have had a thing for crxs ever since my friend Dave did his up, this is not his thoughSlammed crxEF sedans are the exact opposite of the crx but still have clean linesThe volks help set off the industrial gray paint on this rideEfs are probably the only cars that pull of molding stripesSee what I meanEFs lend themselves to older, rarer, wheelsOld school wheels and graphicsDumped and flushedThese cars need so little what was with all the bodykits before? This driveway looks kind of serious
Got an idea for a Theme Tuesday? Let me know in the comments!
