Sunday’s Refined: Curated Sunday Special

I have no problem admitting that I’ve become a bit more guarded with my time. A lot of my recent event coverage reflects that. These...

Guest Coverage: Goodwood Festival Of Speed Part 1

Every year at England's Goodwood Estate there are two awesome automotive events; The Goodwood Revival and The Goodwood Festival of Speed. If I were located on that side of the pond I would surely attend both no questions asked but sadly I'm on this side of the pond and currently it's not in the cards to attend either event any time soon. However long time reader and England native Matt Blackhurst had the opportunity to attend this years Festival of speed and was nice enough to send through some coverage so enjoy today's post from his perspective.

Theme Tuesdays: Midwest Camp N Drag 2013 Favourites

It's been a little while since I've lived vicariously through the lens of someone else for a Theme Tuesday but once Camp N Drag photos started showing up in my news feed over the weekend this week's fate was set. It took a bit but after some searching I managed to find a great variety of photos from Lisa Bryant, 4130 Photography, Upstate DVD and CM Photography.

French Connection

Visiting Montreal for Eurokracy 2013 opened up several opportunities to share a meal, drink, or both, with people I had previously only had the pleasure of interacting with on-line and today's feature comes by way of one of those chance encounters. Gabe, and Kevin, --who I met over dinner after Eurokracy-- are part of the production team at French Canadian VDO; a Quebec based media outlet that has been making an impact on the minitrucking world for the past few years.

WTF Friday: 10 Crazy 60s and 70s Show Rods

Today's WTF Friday was originally going to be a Theme Tuesday but after some consideration I thought it might be a little too "far out" for some. Despite the fact that many of them are some of the most ridiculous looking things on four wheels I've always loved show rods from the sixties and seventies. No matter how over the top they still manage to stay (somewhat) grounded in era correct modifications by way of wheel selection, motor, loud pipes/headers, and of course raked stance.

Event Coverage: Euronited 2013

Situated down the street from my house attending Euronited for another year as pretty well a no-brainer, especially when I woke up Sunday morning and the sun was shining. Blessed with great weather two years in a row Euronited 2013 had a respectable turnout of well built European cars.

Theme Tuesdays: Trucks Being Awesome In Car Like Settings

Lots of people seem to think that trucks are only really good for hauling around couches, dirt bikes, debris, and people. These same people believe that trucks should stay stock height and should never be pretty as that "defeats the purpose of a truck".

Blue In The Face

While migrating rss feeds from the recently deceased Google Reader over to The Old Reader I skimmed through few blogs I had not checked up on in awhile and located in the Motoriginal coverage of the Verses Classic Car Showdown was this impressively low Subaru BR-Z sitting on what look to be Weds Bazreias.

…And The Winner Is

The Car Crazy Canada's Best Contest has wrapped up for another year and Meguiar's Canada is proud to announce Joey Dube of Baylon Ontario as the 2013 winner. Joey and his wife own the surprisingly stealthy bright yellow 1970 Ford Torino that managed to creep it's way into the number one spot under the noses of everyone who participated in the round table discussion.

Eurokracy’s Finest 2013

The car that undoubtedly stole the show at Eurokracy 2013 was this teal, right hand drive, MK1 Rabbit. Built by Quebec City based Unix Performance this no holds barred, no expense sparred, beauty was hidden behind a wall of slack jawed on lookers almost the entire show and personally I stopped by the car on three different occasions in a vain attempt to take in all of the details.
