JDM rides member, xxbvanxx, hosts weekly Sunday night meets in the Square One mall parking lot here in Mississauga. This year the kick off meet was promoted  about two months in advance and highly anticipated.

As Sunday April 25th finally rolled around the weather looked like it could be a problem, but it eventually cleared up long enough for 200-300 cars to gather for about 20 minutes before being told to leave by the local Police department.

Essentially every message board and car ‘club’ in the GTA had heard about this event which made for what could have been one of the biggest free, spontaneous, meets I can remember going to since the days of the ‘Rona’ meets in Woodbridge.

Had we been allowed to stay it could have been a pretty good meet but with the tomfoolery that eventually went down it’s not hard to see why we got the boot (see list of things not to do at a meet at the bottom of this post).

The most ironic thing about the Police kicking us out is something that JDM rides member Pistol Pete said:

I find it hilarious the 5-0 wanted us to leave, Because you know….having 300+ cars on the road is much better then having them all parked in one spot.

It’s funny cause it’s true, anyway, enough talk for now, here are some pics:

I took this shot when I arrived

...and a few minutes later

This e46 owner whos name I forget asked me to take a few pics of his car so I

Since everyone was leaving around us it was hard to get a good shot

Took me awhile to realize I saw this same Civic at the Next Mod TM3 meet

Everyone making their way to the exit

Clean lookin Teg I caught leaving the first spot

Wet second spot, I jetted after this

What not to do at a car meet (if you don’t want to blow out the spot)

-Race into/out of the parking lot
-Pop your blow off valve every 2 seconds (ya you’re boosted we get it)
-Blast Beamer Benz, Bentley or any other commercial drivel (actually don’t blast anything at the meet itself)
-Leave your alarm on if it’s super sensitive to bass/exhaust (as people ignore the things above and will set it off over and over)
-Chirp other people or the cops when hidden by the anonymity of being in the crowd (tough)
-Act like your car makes you better than anyone else there
-Sit on / lean on / suspension push test anyone’s car without permission
-Be a douche

It would be really awesome if one day the ‘tuner/jdm’ crowd had a weekly free place to meet like the Applewood Plaza muscle car crowd does but as long as a few idiots keep doing the things above it’s not going to happen any time soon.

Just the other day I was thinking about how now that the weather has gone sour I really  miss going out to Street Classics and Applewood Plaza shows. I’m a pretty  big fan of older American iron so I was really excited when  the stanceiseverything@gmail.com account and had these pictures BC Stance is Everything fan Bryan M’s 63 Thunderbird waiting in my inbox, his car is a real beaut and I am glad to be able to share it with you.

Thanks Bryan for sending in pictures of your bird, it’s great to see someone keeping the classics alive and proper.

For those of you who have sent in pictures of your rides rocking Stance Is Everything pictures don’t worry I am going to post them soon I am just going to compile them all into one post. Just waiting on a few more promised shots :)

Sometimes I think the idea of six degrees of separation isn’t just an idea or theory but an actual fact of life, and this featured ride is a perfect example of that. When this blog was in it’s infancy I shot a quick point and shoot photo of an Impala at one of the weekly Applewood Show and Shines. I sent the picture to my friend Keven during one of our weekly msn car chats and as luck would have it the owner, Dale, is his girlfriends father. Kev and I share the same taste in cars and he is a bit of a photog so the wheels were set in motion to get this Impala the shine time it deserves on Stance Is Everything.

Dale was lucky enough to save 62 Impala from becoming a potential rats nest in the confines of a  dusty barn in  Vancouver British Columbia and transform it into the beautiful piece of machinery you see before you today.

In one final example of six degrees of separation Dale’s wife is a flight attendant who happened to have Chip Foose on one of her flights and after a few how do you do’s Dale is now the owner of a personally signed marker and pen illustration of his Impala.

Some dudes have all the luck.

Thanks to Keven for shooting these photos for me, and Dale for allowing us to feature his ride. Expect to see a lot more photos from Keven on this site as he is about as down as it gets in support for this blog.

As always if you want your car featured send me an email at stanceiseverything@gmail.com

Went out to the weekly car show again on Canada Day. Small turnout this time but I was still able to get a set of photos with no re shoots from last week and a few more creative shots since I  had more time. I can’t stress  enough how much I like this show.

In 2001 and group of Toronto area BMW enthusiasts got together to create an event for other hardcore BMW enthusiasts in the area. What they created was Bimmercruse and it has run successfully in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and this year Bimmercruise is flying under the Eurofest banner and sis gearing up to be one of the largest cars shows in Ontario and perhaps the largest European car show in Ontario.

Looking to top the 200 entrants from last year and being open to all European cars which includes but is not limited to: Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo, Maseratti, Lamborghini, Peugeot, Ferrari, Lotus, and Audi.

The venue this year is Cayuga International Raceway which not only allows for more cars than ever before but it also allows for the show to be more than just a show and shine.

This years event also have the following events:
-Time Attack ($150)
-Lapping ($100 for 4 25minute sessions)
-Drifiting ($100)
-Drag racing ($40.00)
-IASCA SQ & SPL sound competitions ($30/ea)

The event is $20 for spectators and $40 for show and sine entrants and the mantra behind this years event is that it will not be your average car show and you are encouraged to bring your friends, family, and significant other.  This event can’t be missed for more info visit Eurofest.com

I totally forgot about this set of weekly show and shines as well. I had sometime yesterday before going riding to swing by this show and shine with the point and shoot. There were so many nice cars that I plan on going back next week with the SLR to shoot this event properly and maybe get some photos of the burnout rumored contests.
