The number of tastefully modified cars in the Toronto area is increasing at a rate far greater than ever before and the local Volkswagen community seems intent on being at the forefront of this clean car revolution. Mina, no stranger to riding low, made a few changes to his JDM and Euro inspired GTI during the off season that have made it one of the most easily recognizable MKV’s in the area.

Normally the features on this site are written in more of a magazine style tone and not the same personal tone the rest of the posts are written in, however in regards to this car and it's owner I felt a more personal approach was justified. In the short time I have known Tim (the owner and builder of today's Subaru) I have come to learn a few things about him. He's a talented do it yourself mechanic, a Batman fanatic, a proud father, and one heck of a nice guy.

It's interesting to consider whether or not Honda knew just how popular the s2000 would become when they released it in 1999. Since it's birth the the car has been modified 1000 times over with literally no end in sight. It's really remarkable what people are doing to these cars around the globe and right here in Toronto. Matt, a long time Honda enthusiast and show veteran, has been working on his s2000 ever since he sold his Civic and the current revision of this constantly changing project is simply stunning.

When discussing aggressively fit Mazda 3 hatchbacks* three cars instantly spring to mind: Kevin Nigel's titanium gray 05 that was on SSR Vienna Kreis wheels, Rocky's fender flared conversation starter, and the subject of today's feature the always clean Safron Yellow example owned by Yevgeniy Kovalchuk. Anyone that's grown up riding (or skating) was probably told at some point prior to getting their license that as soon as they got the keys to their first car they would no longer be interested in spending hours on end at their favorite street spot, skate park, or set of trails and would instead be interested solely in automobiles. While that is true for some, those of us who love bikes and boards as much as we love cars always knew that both would have a significant presence in our lives.

Because it's been winter here in the GTA most of the recent features have showcased cars from sunnier climates, however as our seasons gets closer and events are being announced left right and center it's time I turned the spotlight back towards local rides. This Golf is a perfect example of the level in which a lot of the local VW enthusiasts operate and when it arrived in my inbox I was immediately impressed with what I saw.

A few years ago I saw a Volkswagen Mark II with a sticker on it that read "CCM - Clean Car Revolution" and while I'm fairly certain that at this point the owner of that car, and whoever coined that phrase, has moved on the revolution continues to live through cars like Jon's 2004 350z. Clean might be a word I use far too often on this site but it's the perfect word to describe Jon's car because it looks simply amazing without the need for a wild body kit, loud paint, or camber that's practically horizontal.

One of the best parts about being a car enthusiasts in this internet age is that it's incredibly easy to connect with other scenes around the globe. With less than an hour and a few clicks you can see what's going on in Europe, North America, and Japan. This means that tuning styles are no longer regionally based. Andre, who is from Brazil, got hooked on clean, low, cars fast thanks to international forums like NASOIC and blogs like this one. Once the bug bit it wasn't long until Impreza was on sitting much closer to the earth.

When starting a new project most of us begin with nothing more than a stock chassis and an idea.
