Theme Tuesdays: Whitewalls

While reading another excellent Keith Charvonia feature on SpeedHunters it became alarmingly apparent that I have yet to do a Theme Tuesday on the classic white wall tire. Unsurprisingly there were a number of cars equipped with said tires on my hard drive so this one came together fairly quickly.

Theme Tuesdays: Lettin’ The Sparks Fly: Part 3

In the middle of a few Theme Tuesday ideas right now so I decided to fall back to all old faithful topic this week. Funny in Part 2 of this series I was debating the switch to air and that I have it I have yet to produce any dragging photos...something to try out on my winter wheels (Works would tear my quarters to shreds) perhaps.

Event Coverage: Nextmod Mississauga Grand Opening

Since opening their flagship Markham store in '09 Nextmod has been steadily working hard to become a household name among tuners in Canada. A Montreal store is in the works and their Ottawa location opened mid summer. Exactly one week ago Nextmod opened their third store in Mississauga to an extremely positive reception and large turnout.

Event Coverage: 2013 Majestics / Luxurious BBQ

A little over a month ago Toronto chapters of the Majetics and Luxurious lowrider clubs hosted their annual summer BBQ. I had another BBQ earlier in the day so I missed a little bit of the festivities (hop off), but still had enough time to get my annual fix of wires, murals, hydros, and candy paint. It's always such a relaxed vibe at these events and the build quality of the cars is second to none. It's seriously mind blowing the amount of time and dedication that goes into these cars and that's exactly what keeps me going back year after year.

WTF Friday: ‘rixtoy’

While browsing one of my favourite threads on s10forum (most hacked shit ever seen)  I stumbled upon this truck that at a first (very quick) glance looked like a cool project but as I scrolled down I was reminded exactly what thread I was browsing through. Bodied, tube framed, swapped, and RHD this truck has all the right ingredients for cool truck but the overall execution leaves just a hair to be desired.

Theme Tuesdays: Sy/Tys

As a big first generation S10/Blazer fan the first time I discovered Syclones and Typhoons they shot to the top of my 'favorite vehicles ever built' list about as fast as they ran down the quarter mile. I mean what's not to like about an all wheel drive pickup/suv that could out run a Corvette and a Ferrari in stock form?

WTF Friday: The Fly

In the movie The Fly a mad scientist enters a transporter and winds up crossing himself with a house fly becoming a grotesque monster that frightens little children. In Toronto a mad mechanic crossed a c5 Corvette with Eclipse tail lights, Foose wheels, and a lot of fibreglass to create a grotesque monster that confuses car enthusiasts world wide.

Event Coverage: Importfest 2013 – Pt. 2

Time to jump right back into the second of three Importfest show day coverage photos. Despite the "can't beleive I missed that car" feeling I get after every event I am pretty happy with the coverage this year compared to years previous. I'm finally on my way to figuring out the tricky Metro Toronto Convention Centre lighting. Part 1 ended off with a lot of the cars Nextmod brought out and today's coverage hops from crew to crew before ending off with a few vehicles from Street Outlawz including their insane v10 Nissan s14 project.

Theme Tuesdays: Trucks Being Awesome In Car Like Settings

Lots of people seem to think that trucks are only really good for hauling around couches, dirt bikes, debris, and people. These same people believe that trucks should stay stock height and should never be pretty as that "defeats the purpose of a truck".

Theme Tuesdays: 2JZ In Everything

Going to even out the LSX in everything Theme Tuesday with a Toyota 2jz Theme Tuesday. Versatility wise it could be argued that the 2jz is on par with Chevrolet's legendary V8. Originally finding a home in the Toyota Aristo the 2JZ GTE soon became Toyota's power plant of choice for the Supra before eventually finding it's way under the hood of all sorts of different enthusiast owned vehicles world wide.

Theme Tuesdays: RIP Jae Bueno

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of lowriders and the lowriding culture and one of the people who documented that best is Jae Bueno. Based in LA Jae had access to the best of the best when it came to lowriding (and everything else automotive) and his work was showcased online via Fatlace, and his own site, and a couple times he even appeared over on The Chronicles.

Event Coverage: 2013 Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo – Part 1.

After being unable to make the Nine-O-Five Rides Tuner and Truck Expo in 2012 I was glad the event organizers reached out with an invitation to attend and sponsor this years event. Leading up to the show the forecast was fairly bleek and in most cases a 90% chance of thunder showers would be the kiss of death for an event.
