Theme Tuesdays: Pictures With Attitude: 4

5

I love doing these ‘Pictures with attitude’ aka rad picture Theme Tuesdays because it gives me a chance to let my automotive A.D.D. run wild.

The car hobby is a big one and there is no fun in only enjoying select parts of it all the time.

Epic win
Don't see enough modified 300zx's
Tons of clearance
I love the no big deal look on his face
Would suck to put down low numbers in front of all these people lol
Think he kept it on 2 or rolled right over
Dori
Do work!
Another oddball drifter, sorta wonder if I have posted this before
Burroughs.
Hell yes.
This is either Rust and Dust or Jalopy showdown I can't remember
That face is nothing but attitude
I would need a new change of underwear
She has good taste

Immaculate

I’m not even sure what I need to say about this R32. After taking a look at the entire flickr album @Mike_Shake sent me on twitter I knew that I absolutely had to post this car.

This car is the definition of clean.

Perfect fitment, perfect camber, the perfect amount of stretch and poke, minimal stickers, and perfect bodywork.

The great photography just further compliments this car, Epic job all around by Michael Petrino.

Clean and low, just the way it should be
I mean, god damn.
17x9 and 17x11.5 in the back. Sheesh
This was the first photo I saw of the car, it's now my desktop
Immaculate.

Such a well put together car, the results of careful planning and execution, make sure to check out the full album at flickr.com/mpetrinophotography

WTF Friday: The Transporter

5

The Pontiac Transport has to be one of the few vehicles that is damn near ‘unstanceable’ it looks like a giant cheese wedge covered with gaudy plastic body cladding. However as we know that will never stop a few people from trying to come up with something, as seen inside.

The winners of the S.I.E/Shell V Power ‘You’ve got gas’ contest will be revealed in the site updates section of today’s WTF Friday so if that’s why you are here then scroll down.

Not sure what is going on here....
Logic tells me it's bagged but can you apply logic to a modified Transport?
Surprised this can do this
Here is another one I found that someone tried to mod....

Site Updates

Alright let’s get into the winners from the S.I.E/Shell V Power ‘You’ve got gas’ contest.

The runner up with the comment that made me laugh the most is: desborough who’s tired of having to cash in at the sperm bank for gas, ya he went there when no one else would. 😛 For his efforts he will receive a set of stanceiseverything.com url stickers, a Sweetie Girl Racing Chaser sticker, and an I hate speed bumps sticker.

Honorable mention also goes to Dumped mk3 Dan for his comment explaining how he would pick up an upper class Woodbridge girl, I actually sort of want to bankroll this idea and see if it would work.

The grand prize winner of a set of stanceiseverything.com stickers, and $50 of gas courtesy of Shell V Power is Santiago Gomez, past feature photographer, Union Auto club member, and the man behind Static Sugar. Congratulations Santiago hope to see some more footage of you drifting with that free gas!

This is how Santiago intends to use his gas.

Don’t forget to win a years supply of gas enter the Shell V-Power® “Fuel My Passion” contest at shell.ca/fuelmypassion.

Flashback Friday

Chopshop is a local VW shop run by a fellow bmx rider Kevin.

The shop cranks out a number of sick V.A.G. cars and I almost forgot I did this Theme Tuesday dedicated to the shop last year, almost.

Sam got a Miata

5

My friend Sam recently sold his m50 swapped e30 and picked up a Mazda Miata. What does this have to do with today’s photo? Nothing.

However, I am pretty busy today and figured you guys wouldn’t mind if I just said very little and instead just posted up a picture of a girl next to, what I assume to be, her slammed Miata.

This is not Sam.

Was I right?

Edit: Here is Sam in his new car.

Autocrossing as usual.

Featured Ride: Cungs G35

4

G35s’s have definitely become a popular chassis for those looking to go down and out while retaining the ability to go fast and get wild.

Shortly after finishing his car, for the first time, Cung got hooked on stance and fitment and decided to take his car back to the garage for a complete ground up make over.

Now, post op, Cung is ready to showoff his ‘Shrek’ Green creation to the world.

Cungs car pre makeover

This G’s transformation started to take shape when Cung removed his previous Tein S tech spring/shock setup and bolted on a set of Megan Racing street coilovers. This new suspension brought his car down to a much more appealing ride height and improved the cars handling to boot.

The cars original color, black, will always be timeless however while the car was in the shop having the K2 front bumper, Chargspeed rear bumper, and Impul side skirts installed Cung decided to paint the car a slightly more eye catching color.

Midway test fitting his new bumper

After browsing through the body shops collection of paint chips Cung settled on the bright green paint color you see today which is ‘Signal Green’ and comes from the Porsche color chart.

This color, though very bright, doesn’t come off looking gaudy and contrasts very well with the black roof Strafe Speed carbon fiber trunk, and Seibon ‘Top Secret’ carbon fiber hood.

Fresh out of the shop at HF5

With the car sporting a new paint job and low ride height Cung knew that he needed wheels to match, so he fit 19″ Varrstoens ES 2.2 rims (19×9.5+0 215/35/19 and 19×10.5+0 245/40/19) underneath the fenders with a little help in the camber department thanks to SPC front upper control arms and a matching SPC rear camber/toe kit.

6

While working on all four corners Cung also installed EBC slotted and drilled rotors which were a wise choice because in addition to a few standard bolt on mods and an Injen cold air intake Cung has also installed a 100 shot Zex nitrous system.

Cung’s got a nice aggressive rake

While the Zex system gives Cung an instant boost in power he still isn’t quite satisfied with his cars overall performance.

Forced induction is now next on the to do list as Cung currently has a Vortech supercharger teasing him from a box in his garage, until then the motor sings via an -X02 Stainless Steel Catback Exhaust with Megan Racing resonated test pipes.

Still have to make it out to Cali…

Inside of the car Cung has installed a Spraco Racing fighter seat with matching Spraco harness as well as a very extensive I.C.E. setup which culminates around a very attractive looking custom fiberglass enclosure containing two JL w6v2 Subs and his Zex bottle.

Close up of Cung’s trunk setup

Cung first debuted his cars new “Shrek” skin at the HellaFlush5 meet in Hungington Beach, CA and has continued to show it off at the Nisei car show in Little Tokyo.

Leaving the vents black was a nice touch

With it’s new stance, eye catching paint, and soon more power don’t be surprised if you start to see this car popping up more and more on the internet.

No matter how many times it’s said its always appropriate, dat ass!

Great build Cung and good luck with the future plans for the car, I know you have plenty.

Theme Tuesdays: Untraditional Low

9

The lowrider style Auburn Speedster I posted last Friday got me thinking that people will lower basically anything and everything and I should do a Theme Tuesday dedicated to those who like to think outside of the box.

I had a few of these vehicles saved already but after doing a lot more web mining I came up with a pretty interesting collection of photos.

Enjoy.

Look, a Yugo!
Forgive me for not knowing what this is but its cool looking
I've posted this Ford COE a few times but no one ever complains...
There is something so right about this.
Slammed Big Rigs are familiar territory around here
This is known as the Sneaky Pete, it looks different now, but looks wild here
This lowered short bus is a few years old now
Wonder if the owner still has/drives this
This is a bright green Ice cream truck
This truck was for sale on ebay awhile back
This jeep has been kicking around for years, ruffled a lot of feathers when it was first done
This Jeep is probably nothing new to you, it's been on a few blogs
I did not know it had a Nissan power plant
The windshield is like a mail slot
This one is fairly new to me but is pretty wild
Wonder what it's like to drive?
Another dope bus
Let's see sparks!
I have not the foggiest what kinda car this is
The craziest for last... this is wild.

Shout out to those who think outside the box

S.I.E./Shell V power You’ve got gas contest

24

After doing the last, super successful, reader appreciation contest I said that anytime I am fortunate enough to have stuff to give away I was going to do it, and guess what I have more free stuff so here is another contest!

The fine folks at Shell have given me the opportunity to give away  $50 of Shell V-Power® gasoline to one lucky winner. Additionally if $50 of free gas isn’t enough to feed your ground scraper, a years supply of shell gasoline is available to win via the Shell V-Power® “Fuel My Passion” contest.

To win $50 worth of free Shell V-Power® gas and a set of Stance Is Everything stickers all you have to do is leave a comment explaining what you would do with $50 worth of free gas.

The winner will be chosen by random draw and announced in his weeks WTF Friday (entry closes 11:00am October 22nd 2010).

Get creative with your answers because while the gas prize winner will be chosen randomly the answer that makes me laugh the hardest will receive a set of Stance Is Everything stickers, a Sweetie Girl Racing Chaser sticker, and an I hate speed bumps sticker.

Grand prize winner package
Get creative and win these

There is a limit of one entry per email and this contest is only open to Canadian residents.

To win a years supply of Shell V-Power® gas along with the chance to win other great daily prizes simply head over to www.shell.ca/fuelmypassion and enter the Shell V-Power® “Fuel My Passion” contest by submitting a picture of you next to your ride giving the “V” sign (example below).

Sports cars, luxury cars, motorcycles, boats, RVs or other rides are all welcome and the Shell V-Power® “Fuel My Passion” contest runs until Nov 8th 2010.

Do as she does and win a years supply of gas!

Good luck!

Betcha can’t have just one

Don’t you hate when you come across one image of a car and can’t find anymore? Because that’s the case with this e30 on Work Emotions (not CR Kai as explained here).

No matter how much I search I keep coming across the same old ass picture. Maybe it’s just me and perhaps I suck at using Google but I need more!

To the guys at Felgen Garage do this again and take more pictures please, for the sake of the internet!

So good
Here is a picture of the same car on Hartge's just because.

Buy this so I won’t

4

My vinyl guy, Mat at Seche Media, is selling his modified 2007 Mazda Speed3 for an exceptionally low price, low enough that I have considered picking it up, transferring some parts from my car to his and then selling my own.

However in an effort to avoid putting myself into bankruptcy (just got a house, laptop, new snowboard) I figured it’s best to give his car more exposure so one of you can purchase it rather than myself.

This car is well maintained and comes with a number of top dollar modifications, take a look.

Don't let the mileage fool you this car is clean
I'm sure he would throw in some stickers for you as well...

I miss my car

3

My car has been in the shop for about a week now for warranty rust repair so I have been either taking the public transit or hitching rides with my girlfriend.

For the most part being chauffeured around has not really bothered me but seeing the latest pictures of Kevin’s hatch on the Mazda 3 forums really made me miss my own car because like JDR‘s car Kevin’s has been one which I look to for inspiration.

This photo is the one that really had me convinced on the new wheels

More specifically I look to both cars as a base for what sort of specs I should consider for my next set of wheels, I have been watching Kevin’s build for awhile now and I have really liked the last two sets of 17″ wheels he has chosen.

I’ve been debating whether to step up to 18″ wheels for my next set or stay at 17s and Kevin has shown that when you choose wheels with the right design, width, and offset there is really no need to go up to 18″ wheels on a Mazda 3.

Kevin's low stance has already cost him an oil pan, gotta pay to play

The design of Kevin’s new SSR Vienna Kreis wheels (17×8 +29/+37)  look closer to 18″ wheels than 17s and the width/offset combined with his low ride height give the car an aggressive look that doesn’t take away from the attractive lines of the early Mazda 3 hatch.

Love the dish and camber out back

If you are curious as to which suspension keeps this car inches from the ground, Kevin is on BC coils with a locking collar removed up front (an alternative to the shorter spring/cartridge setup) and out back he just chose to leave the rear perches in the box.

I love the design of these wheels very unique for the Mazda 3
At the right height the rear 3/4 of these cars look great

Keep up the good work Kevin,  you’ve inspired a lot of Mazda 3 owners, including myself, to step their game up (or is it down?)

Clean and simple

For lots more photos of Kevin’s car check out his thread on the Mazda 3 forums.
