Stance Is Everything & Importfest

Importfest is coming up on it's 10 year anniversary and the organizers have asked to be a part of making this years one to remember. New for this years event, which takes place September 11th 2010 at the Metro Toronto Convention center, are 10 new trophy classes including 'Baddest Stance' which they kindly given me the opportunity to help judge. Check out the full post for more info on the new categories and to find who who's this years Miss Importfest.

The Perfect Storm?

Apologies are in order for the horribly cliche title, but I never thought I would ever find myself willingly posting pictures of a Geo Storm. I've got respect for people who work with what they've got and make use of and oddball platform and this Storm fits the bill. I can't recall the last time I saw one of these in person and this one is without a doubt the best I have ever seen.

Mini Feature: Andrew’s Next Mod Genesis

Hyundai surprised a lot of people when they released the Genesis being a company with no prior sports car platform to speak of unless you make the stretch to include the Tiburon. In 2009 it was tough to say how the car would do in regards to initial sales and aftermarket acceptance/support, however about a year or so after initial release it's fairly safe to say that the Genesis has been well received.

Clean Local EK

Toronto has it's share of clean EK's and here is another one I happened to come across on a local message board.

Theme Tuesdays: E36 Ti’s

It's about time I made good on my promise to do an e36 ti Theme Tuesday. While not for everyone (they took awhile to grow on me) with a fairly easy motor swap or the addition of some forced induction the e36ti can become quite the little monster. With the right aesthetic mods they don't look to bad either since they are really just a smooshed e36.

Slept On

With all of cars lately that have sticker covered body panels, roof racks full of whatever, rust, crazy paint and extreme amounts of stretch and poke I think sometimes people over look how great a car can look with clean paint, the right wheels and perfect stance. Julian's wagon has been one of my favorite Subaru's since the first time he sent me pictures of it, his show room clean paint, and dialed ride height allowed him to rock stock rims better than damn near anyone else and I now that he has retired his stock wheels in favor of Work 11R in 17x9 wheels his car has never looked better.

The Scraped Crusaders do Jitterbug 2010

Gilbert, Matt and the rest of The Scraped Crusaders made their way to the 24th annual June Jitterbug in Niagara Falls last weekend and judging from the pictures had one heck of a good time. Here are the photos Matt took at the show with captions written by Gilbert (the lead blogger over at The Scraped Crusaders) who's not a VW aficionado but a stance lover none the less.

WTF Friday: Guess This Supercar

It's been awhile since we've have played the guess this car game and as soon as I saw this car it would make a perfect candidate. Having been interested in cars most of my life it's fairly rare for me to come across a model of car by manufacturer I have never heard of before (kit cars aside). Noah and Phil are normally pretty good at posting models of cars I have never seen before so chances are they might have an idea what it is, and so might Ollie as he knows his fair of oddball cars as well. Regardless this contest is open to all of my readers and if you figure out what today's car is you win your choice of url stickers, let's get to guessing.

Featured Photographer: Matt Berenz

It’s been quite awhile since I last featured a photographer here on Stance Is Everything so I am very happy to be able to showcase this photographer’s work today. Matt Berenz hails from the Durham region and rolls with The Scraped Crusaders, which means that he never has to look far for a clean dropped ride to shoot, but Matt talents are not restricted only to automotive photography. His natural gift allows him to shoot a number of different subjects with ease and he is also very capable videographer as well.
