This is a little odd because I’ve done both an MKIII Supra Theme and an 2JZ Theme Tuesday, I guess sometimes the most obvious things are the quickest to fall through the cracks.
Start things off with a little (well a lot) of power from Boost Werx – Video of this car in actionThis is what a 1376 RWHP engine bay looks likeAnd this is what a 1376Rwhp car looks likeA bit more engine bay pornThis is a great looking Supra, nothing over the top visually but still draws you inI posted this car back in 2011, still a huge fan of it, great lookI constantly seem to flip flop back and forth on which look I prefer more, with a wing or withoutFront plate laws can go straight to hell, but I really like the wheel choice on this car, though I can’t tell what they areJammed
Lip spoiler your thing?Or something a little more aggressive? The only thing that can beat a great rolling shot……is a great rolling burnout shotSupra front ends almost have a sinister smile about themYou will have to take my word that I didn’t intentially look for this many booty shots of Supras……it just kind of happened…This tire wear pattern seems pretty common for Supras……as this one appears to be worn damn near identicallyRemember when it was ‘cool’ to put Supra tails on damn near everything? Man am I glad that is overI don’t much like the ABFlug kit from other angles but this looks awesome
Last night (while looking for something completely unrelated) I came across this super unique, and awesome Chevrolet c10.
Intrigued, I put a photo of it up on the Facebook fan page as a reminder to dig a little deeper, and once I located the relevant build thread I was blown away by this trucks awesome ongoing transformation.
Bodied, bagged, tastefully chopped, fit with suicide doors, a sheet metal dash, custom grill, custom tailgate skin, and housing a hopped up 402 big block under the hood this truck really is the complete package.
If you want to follow the builders progress you can do so right here on c10forum.com, sounds like he’s getting it ready for a proper (read:non primer) paint job these days.
While many North Americans are currently drooling over Bismotos 1029hp Honday Odyssey, Australian’s are wondering what all the fuss is about since they have been pumping out high horsepower vans for years.
The Toyota Hi Ace pictured above and below has a 383 cubic inch, MoTec fuel injected, dry ice intercooled, turbo, Chevy Lt1 situated underneath the driver.
Mated to a ProTrans built Powerglide automatic transmission, the van could do an incredibly quick, 8.9 second, quarter mile at 154 mph.
Those numbers are not bad for any vehicle, never mind one with the aerodynamics of a slightly deformed tissue box.
Sadly this van has since been parted out, but never fear because this 350 Chevy motived Mitsubishi L300 also calls Australia home.
Though it’s not quite as quick as the people mover above (10 second 1/4 mile9 second) actually it turns out it runs 9s, the retention of the door advertising and ladder rack make it quite the sleeper, provided the slicks are over looked.
Specifics on the Mitsuibhsi’s exact output are a bit vague (the owner never ran it on the dyno) but apparently the car is quite streetable with the owner using it to get too and from work on several occasions.
With vehicles like these literally being the tip of the iceberg when it comes to crazy builds from Australia I really ought to make the trip some day.
These pictures were taken almost exactly a year ago when my car was at Air Lift Performance headquarters undergoing some final prototype testing of their Mazda 3 kit.
The intention was to post them (last year) for a Winter Wednesday but once I decided the ‘big reveal’ would be at Mega Speed I opted not to steal my own thunder.
Despite now being a year old, unless you drill right down to the 3 kit on the Air Lift site, there’s a chance many of you have never seen these photos which is a bit of a shame because I quite like them.
While the car didn’t see a whole lot of snow last winter it’s seen a TON this year and has performed exceptionally.
The Equips on the other hand will never see snow again.
Almost immediately after I finished the first GC Chassis Subaru Theme Tuesday post I knew I would be revisiting it because one post barley scratches the surface when it comes to these cars.
Unfortunately the same can be said of several Theme Tuesday posts so I honestly wasn’t quite sure when I would get to it, however the same matte grey Audi driving friend who was the inspiration behind part one is ever persistent, so hat tip goes to him for reminding me to get on this.
Start things off with this extremely clean exampleLOVE the wheel choice here, Â hopefully I catch this car sometime this season
Tidy looking wagon out of Cali
I find the upside down license plate in this picture distracting, and now you probably do too. The Subaru is dope though, SSR Vienna Kries wheels work great
Lost myself in this build on Stance Works for awhile
You can check it out hereSome people say black on black is played but I feel it is timeless when done rightThe Team Orange GC drift car
Someone even went so far as to make a very accurate RC replicaAnother GC sliderI don’t get to see this car on the track nearly enough but so much props to the owner for the full 180 from show car to track carGettin’ itAnother monsterWheel Dude’s GC8
A later colorwayIn love with this Team Limit car, it’s made both posts one and two and will probably make three four and five…
In the gen one Mazda 3/Speed 3 world Shavi is somewhat of a legend for always pushing the limits of ground clearance and wheel fitment.
After years of punishing the ground, and the underside of his car, static he made the switch to bags around the same time I did and has been reaping the benefits ever since.
Unimpeded by the malaise that comes with snowy weather Shavi recently put in some more work to squeeze the extra 1/2″ or so of low I need to get out of my own car.
The white Cosmis Racing wheels that were on the car before have been replaced with 18×9.5 Klutch Republik wheels which, being less aggressive, have given him the ability to tuck wheel front and rear and eradicate any signs of light between his car and the ground.
The car is clearly still in the middle of a few touch ups, and apparently the Klutch wheels are temporary, so we will just have to wait and see what’s around the bend. Â
In the meantime once the weather warms up I well have to take another look in my front fenders because there’s clearly more I can do to get a little lower.
The e30 has become one of those cars that people will do literally anything and everything to. The spectrum of what has been done ranges from lowrider all the way to Baja vehicle so I really shouldn’t be all that shocked by today’s car.
But I am.
Up until this point every e30 project I’ve seen has retained it’s native FR engine/drive wheel configuration because most (self included) feel the chassis is fairly well balanced straight from the factory.
However as evident by many a WTF Friday post well enough is simply never good enough, so Romanian Toma Alexandru grabbed his tools and got to work.
The motor sitting where a seat resides in a standard trim e30, is an M50 that Alexandru says puts out 350hp. Backed by an Audi 500 transmission this car has reportedly run the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds with a 60 foot of 1.7 seconds.
These numbers made it Romania’s fastest NA BMW in 2013.
Sadly there’s no real build thread to speak of but there is a decent video below:
If you want to keep track of current updates here’s a Facebook page where you can do so.
Those crazy Romanian’s what will they think of next?
When I first stumbled upon the photos in today’s post I figured that the car was sat on the track for some sort of promotional photo shoot, I mean why else would a 1000hp Porsche 917/10 be sitting in the middle of a track in the dead of winter?
As it turns out the car was at Nürburgring by request of the Federal President of Germany, Dr. Gustav Heinemann.
Dr Heinemann wanted to go for a spin and though it was snowing driver Willi Kaushen obliged because evidently the Federal President of Germany simply isn’t someone you say no to.
Not being a complete lunatic Willi kept things pretty reserved so that all parties (and machinery) returned unscathed.
Looking through my ever growing folder of photos I noticed that I had accumulated more than a few c30 photos over the years.
Since the 3 and the C30 are such close cousins I have, on occasion, found myself on a c30 forum or two and whenever I find myself on a message board I don’t frequent I often type ‘slammed’ in the search box and see what comes up….
Brobets work on damn near anythingCan’t go wrong with a little OEM+ stylingMore proof of the same
If I were to paint my car any other color it might be thisNice use of color on this TMB equipped C30Same car from the rearI’ve posted this car a few times previously, just might be my personal favoriteOcean city has such gnarly ins and outsThis photo would have been a little more relevant in December, but nice cars none the lessC30 from Eurokracy out for a little jogMy car and this one just so happen to be on the exact same suspension setupPress shot from the guys at Air LiftGo figure they make good race cars too
Turns out I’ve seen one of these in person previouslyGoing to end things with this WTCC C30Perhaps I should revisit the tripoding theme sometime soon?
The Canadian International Autoshow is currently running now until February 23rd and for car enthusiasts across the city it serves as a great way to get out of the house and check out the latest from manufacturers, and local  tuning shops in the GTA.
In addition to signalling the upcoming end to winter (thank god), for me the auto show always makes me think about my younger days when I used to go with my old man.
I’m sure at the time he didn’t put much thought into the whole thing beyond silencing my constant chat of “I’m bored” but to me it made a lasting impression and indirectly lead to the site you see here today.
Hopefully this is still true for the hundreds of kids that attend every year.  The  photos today are from media day which I am always very grateful to get a chance to attend because it means that said thousands of kids are not in my photos.
Domestic OEMS
Chrysler was proud to announce the return of the functional shaker hood on the ChallengerNice to have this piece of automotive history back in the gameBeefed up Wrangler Sport on wheels reminiscent of old Countach ones...Personally I find the current gen Viper pretty appealing
I just wish they didn’t sit quite so high…
I’ve read a lot about 3D printing so it was cool to see this 3D printed Mustang as part of the Ford displayFlashing lights during the debut of the new Mustang
European OEMS
Audi’s LED accents in their headlights are often imitated but never quite duplicatedThe new S8 really is a thing of beauty
The gap between the fender and those 21″ wheels actually isn’t even all that bad…I believe this was a CLA 45 AMGOnce again MB managed to suck me in with their model display… this year with a collection of 300SLsNot that I could ever afford one but for whatever reason ‘matic’ in the name of my car would bug me…Couple Benz pedal cars that I might be able to afford…
With a 3.8L 6 pumping out 460hp I reckon a lot of people will enjoy this view
80mm slotted/vented steel rotors with six piston calipers sure look good behind those center locksShould be ripping up the Canadian Tire Motorsport park this year
Japanese OEMS
Replacing Pat’s FR-S in the Scion booth this year was the Top Tuner challenge winning Racemode FR-S
The new 3 looks like a six and it’s weird so I took pictures of this insteadSubaru covering up their new WRX STI prior to the revealAnd here it is…. the EvoabruHyundai is really driving hard to the hoop with their current line up of luxury vehicles. Wonder what kind of sales numbers they will put up?This would be a really sleeksport sedan, if Nissan releases itVery aggressive front end but the segment kind of needs it
This IS350 was…. interesting.Didn’t catch the name of this Hybrid concept from Lexus but it looks much better than the car above
Auto Exotica
I almost completely forgot about the Auto Exotica room up until about ten minutes before close, I’m glad I hustled my way down there however because otherwise I would have missed a few noteworthy cars.
The Autoexotica exhibit is one of the better lit side attractions of the event……which makes taking pictures very enjoyable
Pfaff Tuning
The GT3 earlier in this post would look great in this liveryA quick peak at the custom ADV1 wheels on Pfaff’s McLaren 12-C Spa -FPfaff brought this insane v-10 R8 with a Heffner Twin Turbo kitThe simply outstanding McLaren P1Akebon carbon-ceramic brakes…. 186mph to 0 in a hair over six secondsI don’t even think ‘Dat Ass’ is quite appropriate here
Cruise Nationals
I see this particular 3 window quite a bit, great looking carI’ve seen this a few times at well and I feel pretty confident in saying it will be at MegaSpeed at the end of the month
Once again left to my own devices in this room full of awesomeBlack and raked this car looked great
Richard Petty’s Superbird
This year Muscle Car Alley featured Richard Petty’s Superbird and having never seen a race ready Superbird in person before I took more than a few pictures of it.
In comparison to some of the other race cars at the show it was pretty awesome in it’s relative simplicity.
That legendary nose cone that contributed to the aerodynamics package that made this car unforgettable
The original “Big Wang”
Sport Compact Evolution
Normally the Sport Compact Evoloution section of the car is full of cars I’ve seen several times over the year before but this year Nextmod brought out one car I didn’t see at all last year and one that had undergone a serious makeover.
Not to be out done Can Jam brought their time attack STI to the show as well.
Can Jam’s Subaru hammered to the floor for the show
APH’s Evo is just about ready for this season of racing. Can’t wait to see it out on the trackA street/track prepared Evo from APH
Nextmod’s Liberty Walk R35
I knew Peter had some plans for the 2014 season but I really wasn’t expecting Canada’s first Liberty Walk GTR
Tire specs are 375/20/21, and the wheels are ADV.1s
Quite the site to behold and easily one of the most talked about
