Theme Tuesdays: Street Machines

At first pass a few of you are going to think I am off my rocker --which I might be-- for posting 70s Street Machines in the Theme Tuesday category and not the WTF Friday one but, in my opinion 70s Street Machines and today's aggressive fitment scene are really not that different from one another. Swap BBS wheels (or your 3 piece of choice) for Cragars (or you slotted mag of choice), coils for shackles, stretched tires for the widest tires possible, wild vinyl wraps for wild custom paint, and it's tomato, tomato.

WTF Friday: Talk About A Challenge

People have swapped quite a few motors into the nimble little Mazda Miata chassis but I think Quebec native Yannick may be walking away with the top spot for 'most unlikely combination' with his current project. Yannick is a man who likes to buy cars that are either damaged, undesirable, or missing key components, and make them drivable. His search for damaged auto-mobiles landed him a 2005 Maserati Quattroporte that was auctioned off (slightly damaged) with 64, 000 miles on the clock.

Event Coverage: H2O International 2013 – Pt. 3

One of the beautiful things about H2O is that though the get togethers are 'scheduled' that doesn't mean if you show up late all is lost. More often than not a few people end up sticking around simply because on the next hour another meet is sure to spring up around them. Today I've got a few photos from the Air Cooled get together and the Scraped Crusaders/E30 get together which are both meets that we technically 'missed' but still enjoyed.

Theme Tuesdays: Uncommon Stance Part 2

For one reason or another it has been a few weeks since the last Theme Tuesday so lets get things back on track with a second/third edition of  'uncommon stance' which is a reliable old favourite. I know there are plenty of people out there with lesser modified, limited after market, or just plain oddball chassis so hopefully this post inspires at least one of you not to push that project into the nearest river.

Event Coverage: H2O International 2013 – Pt. 2

In part one of the 2013 H2O coverage I mentioned that attending the show is optional if your goal  is simply to see a ridiculous amount of awesome cars. Having only just now popped my H2O cherry I can't really speak to how or why it happened but --to the ire of some VW enthusiasts-- Ocean City has become the destination for car enthusiasts of all kinds on the last weekend of September. The Saturday before the show consisted of basically on non stop trips up and down the strip stopping at packed parking lots along the way to see a variety of different cars.

WTF Friday: 10 More Crazy Show Rods

Decided to get lost in a few 'good old days' forums last night and when I emerged I came up with enough material for a continuation of the Crazy Show Rods WTF Friday series. Like the first I can't be sure that all of them were actually driven but a bit of back and forth on the forums alludes to at least a few of them seeing some road time in some capacity.

Event Coverage: H2O International 2013 – Pt. 1

On the way to Ocean City my co-pilot and I had a lot of time to discuss just how great H2O could actually be. Previous coverage and instragram updates made it sound pretty great but we wanted to keep our expectations fairly realistic so we talked it down a tad to not be disappointed. Several hours into the drive we figured we had formed reasonable expectations but the second we turned onto the strip said expectations were blown clear out of the water by the sheer number of vehicles in Ocean City MD.

I’m Back Sorry I Left You….

...without a dope post to sift through. About an hour or two after our successful second attempt at crossing the boarder (US Customs doesn't like I Like 'Em Dropped Stickers) it hit me like a ton of bricks that I neglected to mention here on the site that I would be in Ocean City for H2O International.

Event Coverage: 2013 CSCS Season Finale – Pt. 2

Back today with part two of the coverage from the CSCS Finale which is a small set of non action oriented photos. To my surprise there were a few cars at the finale I had not seen the entire season including one car I've never seen in person period. This isn't an exhaustive coverage of the show and shine but more a selection of vehicles and compositions that caught my eye. Enjoy!

And suddenly out of nowhere

I have been a member of the Maxbimmer forums since 2002 (god damn) and still check it fairly consistently so I like to think I have a good idea of the cars and builds on that forum and more so those I like and those that I don't. Recently the influx new cars of new cars slowed down considerably so I was quite surprised when seemingly out of nowhere the owner this 87 Carrera put up a few photos stating: I know its not eveyone's taste but to each their own.

Theme Tuesdays: Local Builds Part 1

It's been awhile since a build thread has appeared here, and with the season almost completely in full swing today seemed like the perfect time to post some of the local builds I've been following. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of these builds are at the first Stretch & Poke event on Sunday.

WTF Friday: Just throw it in four low

When I first saw these pictures it took a little while for me re realize what was going on. My brain struggled with the fact that someone drove on public roads like this. I really wish there was video to go with it, imagine the stopping distance?
