      Event Coverage: Vagkraft 2013

Historically Vagkraft has been a show I have always enjoyed due to it's laid back nature, great organization, and incredibly large turnout. Last year I ran into a bit of a scheduling conflict and was unable to attend but this year I cleared all that up in advance so I could head over to the Powerade Centre for a few hours and see what was up.

      Theme Tuesdays: Rider Owned

I'm not exactly sure how or when it happened but BMX riders have managed to successfully infiltrate nearly every area of the car scene. From pro level riders with awesome cars, to pro level drivers with a bikes they tinker with during the off season, the BMX/car crossover is simply impossible to ignore.

      Balancing Act

The 2013 Toronto Fitted Lifestyle event brought together some of the finest cars the GTA has to offer and one car that stood out among the field was Mathew Barrada's immaculate s14. Shimmering in the sun the way only a car coated in pearlescent paint can it is a stunning example of the less is more philosophy. Every time I've seen the car since it has never failed to catch my eye and today via the lens of Chris Johnston this stunning s14 is visible in a non show setting.

Event Coverage: Tires 23 Customer Appreciation BBQ

While I was at Torque Modified, a little closer to home in Mississauga Tires 23 was holding a charity BBQ/show and shine as a show of thanks for the years of support they've received from the community. In addition to free food, the event had speciality trophies, giveaways, raffles, and live music and at the end of the day Tires 23 raised $1,022 for Credit Valley Hospital.

      WTF Friday: ‘rixtoy’

While browsing one of my favourite threads on s10forum (most hacked shit ever seen)  I stumbled upon this truck that at a first (very quick) glance looked like a cool project but as I scrolled down I was reminded exactly what thread I was browsing through. Bodied, tube framed, swapped, and RHD this truck has all the right ingredients for cool truck but the overall execution leaves just a hair to be desired.

      Theme Tuesdays: Volksrods

From what I understand the 'rules' for owning an air cooled Beetle are a little different than those of your average car or truck. Certain years you are basically free to do whatever you please without much scrutiny, while some years if you so much as repaint them people will request your head on a spike. I've heard things get so strict that people would rather their parts sit and rot in a shed than go to a project they "don't agree with".

      Keeping It Neil

Travelling, studying, and living abroad is often a once in a life time opportunity and those fortunate enough to do so are usually forced to sacrifice quite a bit. In fact it is regularly said that the best philosophy to have when living life on the road is to pack light and never acquire items you are not willing to walk away from at a moments notice. For car enthusiasts, this mentality can be a bit of a problem because very few of us are willing to give up our cars, or passion for modifying them, at the drop of a hat.

      Theme Tuesdays: Sy/Tys

As a big first generation S10/Blazer fan the first time I discovered Syclones and Typhoons they shot to the top of my 'favorite vehicles ever built' list about as fast as they ran down the quarter mile. I mean what's not to like about an all wheel drive pickup/suv that could out run a Corvette and a Ferrari in stock form?

      Event Coverage: 2013 CSCS Mosport

With Importfest coverage just barley out the door we can move things right along with the third round of CSCS coverage for 2013. Round three took place at Mosport and while that's a venue I particularly like shooting I opted to sit things out this round because I was a little run down from a week of preparation for Importfest. Luckily I was able to find a few photographers willing to pick up my slack and judging from the photos contributed by Kevin Tam and Kenny Barnes, CSCS Mosport was a blast just like years previous.

      WTF Friday: The Fly

In the movie The Fly a mad scientist enters a transporter and winds up crossing himself with a house fly becoming a grotesque monster that frightens little children. In Toronto a mad mechanic crossed a c5 Corvette with Eclipse tail lights, Foose wheels, and a lot of fibreglass to create a grotesque monster that confuses car enthusiasts world wide.

      Event Coverage: Importfest 2013 – Pt. 2

Time to jump right back into the second of three Importfest show day coverage photos. Despite the "can't beleive I missed that car" feeling I get after every event I am pretty happy with the coverage this year compared to years previous. I'm finally on my way to figuring out the tricky Metro Toronto Convention Centre lighting. Part 1 ended off with a lot of the cars Nextmod brought out and today's coverage hops from crew to crew before ending off with a few vehicles from Street Outlawz including their insane v10 Nissan s14 project.

      Theme Tuesdays: BMW 2002s – 2

It's been two years since the last 2002 Theme Tuesday and quite frankly that is far too long. The 2002 is perhaps second most loved classic BMW (first being the e30) of all time so there are plenty of stunning examples out there. So many great examples in fact that you shouldn't be too surprised if a part three creeps up in the not too distant future.
