Theme Tuesdays: Rolling Shots Part 3

Is this seriously only the third rolling shot edition of Theme Tuesday? I could have sworn I had done more than that, I suppose the rig shot one kind of counts, either way they were both several months ago so here we go again. I've taken zero rolling shots myself this year and had none taken of me. I should really fix both of these issues before the season is out.

      Featured Ride: Mina’s Golf GTI

The number of tastefully modified cars in the Toronto area is increasing at a rate far greater than ever before and the local Volkswagen community seems intent on being at the forefront of this clean car revolution. Mina, no stranger to riding low, made a few changes to his JDM and Euro inspired GTI during the off season that have made it one of the most easily recognizable MKV’s in the area.

      WTF Friday: Random Local Oddities

I've been sitting on a couple submissions and local random nonsense for awhile now and it's time that I throw up some weirdness from right here in the GTA. While the Toronto area has a lot of nice cars (many of which I post up here) we are not immune to some of the more ...unique... cars you see elsewhere. If you are ever out cruising and you see something that's local to you and quite different for whatever reason don't hesitate to send it in to [email protected].

      The Animated Series

Batman The Animated series is one of the best cartoons ever and Kevin Conroy is the best voice of Batman. What does this have to do with cars? Nothing. But this beautiful Rabbit submitted by talented photographer Matthew W. Vieweger put Batman on my mind thanks to the slick vinyl work.

Event Coverage: Vagkraft 2011 Part: 2

Vagkraft was actually the first event I went to on Sunday and I had intentions of getting this second half of coverage up and out the door last night so I could get to editing and posting the photos from the second event. However I ended up getting sidetracked editing photos for the next featured ride and before I knew it the entire evening had evaporated.

      Theme Tuesdays: Toyota MR2s (w10/w20)

I've got to thank Ollie once again for the help with this Theme Tuesday. Most of the w10 designation MR2s in this set came from his collection actually as a lot of my collection was made up of the later body style. I'm honestly a little surprised I don't run across these cars more often at the various events I go to, did a lot of them get over cooked into solid immovable objects or something?

Event Coverage: Vagkraft 2011 Part: 1

It's been two years since the last time I attended Vagkraft and even though it poured during last years event I still kind of regret not going, so when the forecast for this year looked similar I decided to head out anyway. Thankfully the collective will of hundreds of car enthusiasts kept mother nature from acting a fool and it was dry the entire time I was there. The local VAG community goes pretty hard so if you like European cars and have not attended one of these events you are missing out.

WTF Friday: With no offense to purists

Cars like this are exactly the reason I couldn't be like you guys. This 75 5 series has everything a purist would lust after, it's mechanically sound, extremely clean and lacks the large North American safety mandated bumpers. However had it stayed exactly like as the BMW factory intended chances are pretty good that I wouldn't be dedicating an entire post to it. The builder and I obviously think along the same lines...

      Knoops

I've been reading Stephen Knoops blog (simply titled Knoops Blog ) for awhile now and watching his s14 progress has been a real treat. He made a bunch of performance focused changes since his last season which included new springs and dampers, a new bumper bar, and less camber out back. Once the mechanical amendments were more or less all squared away paint was sprayed and photos were taken. The end result is awesome on wheels.

      And suddenly out of nowhere

I have been a member of the Maxbimmer forums since 2002 (god damn) and still check it fairly consistently so I like to think I have a good idea of the cars and builds on that forum and more so those I like and those that I don't. Recently the influx new cars of new cars slowed down considerably so I was quite surprised when seemingly out of nowhere the owner this 87 Carrera put up a few photos stating: I know its not eveyone's taste but to each their own.

      Theme Tuesdays: Honda Preludes

From the perspective of someone who doesn't live and breath Honda it the Preludes seems like the black sheep of the community when compared to Civics, CRXs, and even Accords. At shows and events there numbers are always fairly small. I don't think the Prelude is an unattractive car at all and with the right touch all generations can be done up tastefully. I think if Honda made them in a FR configuration more people would mess with them today instead of just plucking their motors and moving on.

Event Coverage: Parking Lot Pimpin’ 3

Since I was young I've always had an interest in the Lowrider culture, and while it's tough to say who exactly started this stance business I think it's safe to assume that Lowrider guys are some of the true OGs. When I found out this event was taking place minutes from my house deciding whether or not to attend was a no-brainer, especially because for the longest time my only exposure to cars like these was through television and music.
