      Event Coverage: Summer Sizzle 2

Last Sunday I attended Summer Sizzle 2 put on by Pur Secretz at Vonn Cycle, and even though the calendar had yet to tick over to 'Summer' it was sizzling out. The show had a pretty big turnout and a lot going on (especially for a free show) so I was there for quite awhile between walking around and shooting the breeze in the shade.

      Rotary work out

Local Toronto rotary driver Mike has had his RX-8 for a little while now and recently decided to raise the RX-8 bar in Toronto by installing a brand new set of 19x8.5 (+38) and 19x10(+36) Work VS-XX rims wrapped in 235/35/19 & 265/30/19 Yokohama S-drive tires. To keep his car from looking like a 4x4 on his ballin new set of wheels he brought the height down with a set of Tien Flex coilovers.

Just how BMW would have wanted it

Local e30 guru and the organizer of the last GTA e30 meet, Rudy, recently gave his e30 a face lift. Previously I said Rudy had what was perhaps the cleanest 325is in Toronto but now it is hands down the cleanest oem MTECH II kitted 325is in Toronto.

      Theme Tuesdays: Subaru clearance sale

My Stance Is Everything folder was simply over flowing with photos of Subarus which I had a few different ideas in mind how I could break them up into a few different Theme Tuesday posts but decided to hell with it I can always collect more later. Here is a lot of AWD low.

      Victoria Day Mazda 3 Photoshoot

Last week my friend Chris, from Toronto Mazda 3 gave me a shout asking if I wanted to take part in a little photo shoot/meet on the May 24 holiday Monday. Having nothing better to do I cleaned my car, grabbed my girlfriend and headed out, here are some of the resulting photos my girlfriend took of the day.

Event Coverage: Street Classics May 24 2010

Last Saturday I felt the need for a little bit of change from the super slammed, stretch tire, flush type of stance and decided to head out to the weekly Street Classics Show and Shine at Canadian Tire Etobicoke and take in some real American Metal. Since it was a long weekend the turnout was smaller than usual but 20 cars or 200 I still enjoy these shows, it's something about the atmosphere.

      WTF Friday: Compact Disasters

I have nothing against compact cars, if you need something to drive with the misses and are not really concerned about performance or hauling miscellaneous crap around with you then they are perfect.. However when modifying them it's best to not use a heavy handed approach but rather with a certain grace & finesse. Most certainly not with a full size body kit and a large quantity of body filler. These talented, but misguided body men decided to throw caution to the wind and go all in, here are the results.

      A lot of e30

Got another quick message board find today, this shortened week combined with running around getting parts for my car means that a lot of the drafts I have written for such occasions are finally seeing the light of day. I spotted this e30 awhile back and I am still not 100% sure how I feel about it. The black helps the 'Testarossa' sides for sure, and the wheels have gobs of dish, but the small brakes behind them kind of throw me for a loop. At any rate all of the work is well done and it's nice and low.

      Functional Fitment

Came across this e46 a few days ago on Max and even though the owner thinks his track wheels look tiny I'm a fan of how this e46 looks set up for the track on Apex Arc-8 17x9 (et) 42 wheels with 255s all around. At 17lbs a piece these wheels won't slow the owner down on the track either.

      Keith’s the man

My friend Keith has been working on his Model T coupe for the past four or so years and last Friday the angry bastard fired up and screamed at the world. The Olds 303 in this car sounds mean as hell and I can't wait until he has it on the road, and yes I will get more pictures of it when it's up and running.

Theme Tuesdays: BBS LM Appreciation Part 2

BBS LM's are an amazing looking wheel with a design that never goes out of style. Some might say the LM is played out but I would rather go with timeless, BBS is one of the few wheel manufacturers with a near flawless record of putting out designs that are versatile, unique, sought after, and often imitated but never duplicated. I did a BBS LM appreciation post last year and the time as home for me to do it once again, hope you don't mind.

      Team Nextmod 2010

Nextmod is a great tuning shop here in the GTA, and it's one of those places that whenever you go not only are you likely to run into someone you know, but there is also a good chance you will have leave with less in your wallet than when you arrived. The owner, Peter, is an active member of the local tuning community and often holds meets and free barbecues at the shop. When he emailed me a few days ago with pictures of his 2010 team I realized that Next Mod's really got quite the trio going: dope shop, awesome meet spot, and an excellent line up of cars.
