Event Preview

Woke up a little bit early this morning and decided to use those few extra hours I didn't plan on having to get a bit of a jump on the Importfest 2013 coverage. After setting up and getting the cars cleaned I did a quick 30 minute lap of the building to get an idea of what to expect for today's show.

This morning at about 7am I walked to the corner store and could ever so slightly see my breath, which means only one thing around here: our days are numbered and soon old man winter will begin to grab the GTA with his cold bony hands to squeeze the life out of the 2011 season. However with events going on basically every weekend of September 2011 isn't going out without a fight.

Finally managed to make it to the end of my photo stack from last weekends double header. Including this post I have uploaded over 100 photos in the last four days. As much as I love going to events, hanging out, and documenting sometimes it's hard to find the time to sit down and edit the photos I take. This problem becomes more apparent when it's nice outside & work is kicking my ass. However the show must go on so here are the pictures from the CSCS opener show and shine.

Sunday May 29th 2011 is shaping up to be an eventful day of car shows and meets here in Toronto. Currently I know of two show and sines and two meets all taking place that Sunday. If you are looking for something to do on the May 29th I suggest hitting up either the Krown Lakeshore Charity Show and Shine, Pur Secretz Summer Sizzle 3, Stretch and Poke 2011 # 1, and finally BVANs kick square 1/jdmrides off meet.

Sometime last year I made the decision that 2011 would be the year I do two things. One rock an aggressive fitment wheel setup on my car daily and two actually learn to drive my car better on a more functional wheel and tire setup via driving schools, auto cross events, and lapping days. As you probably already know the first is well under way, and on March 27th I will be taking the first step in the right direction of the second goal by attending Sweetie Girl Racings Advanced Driver Training clinic at the Toronto Motorsport Park, Cayuga.

The 2010 Canadian Sport Compact Series is wrapping up this Sunday September 26 at Cayuga Motorsports park so if you have not had a chance to make it out to any of the three previous events this year be sure to show up between 11am and 7pm as it will be your last chance. Like all of the other CSCS events this weekend includes: Drifiting, Time Attack,Open Lapping, Drag Racing and a show and shine event as well as product give-aways and multiple stage shows.

Dave and the crew at Stretch & Poke have put together their final meet of the year and it's taking place Oct 3rd 2010 at Downsview Park. Downsview is the same venue as Honda Tech 7 so there is no worry of spots filling up or pay parking, furthermore there will be awesome deals on food and beverages courtesy of Grand Prix Kartways. Chris from CSCS (Canadian Sport Compact Series) was kind enough to remind and invite me to the upcoming CSCS event at Cayuga Motorsports park August 22nd. I had a great time last year because not only was it my first time at Cayuga but it was also my first time seeing a legal drift event. I'm looking forward to attending again this year and taking in the drag racing, drifting, time attack, and lapping events in addition to the diverse show and shine.
