Theme Tuesdays: Hot Rods With Modern Wheels

Wheels can make or break a car, and in many cases people are very, very particular about what wheels they expect to see, or will put, on a hot rod. On the flip side there are...

The Birth Of A Dynasty: Mike’s 1968 ‘Ghiaru’

When writing about builds it's far too easy to focus on their mechanical make up and completely neglect the human elements like friendships and memories created in tandem with the final driveable product. The talking points...

I'll be straight with you guys, the idea of a one photo WTF Friday never sits quite right with me, but not posting this Volkswagen Beetle at all doesn't sit well with me either. I...

Theme Tuesdays: Volvo 240s

If Friday's questionably styled and Toyota motivated Volvo left a bad taste in your mouth you can consider today's Theme Tuesday as the mouthwash to cleanse the palette. Like the majority of Theme Tuesday highlights older...

Event Coverage: Battle At The Bridge 2014 – Pt. 2

Theme Tuesdays: Wheel Stands

I've been dropping hints that this Theme Tuesday was coming for awhile now and I've finally pulled together a collection I'm happy with (at least for a part one). Most of these pictures come from hanging around the H.A.M.B. and the Yellow Bullet forums where they love cars new or old that can put their front wheels in the air via monstrous amounts of torque.

2010 SEMA Wheel Gallery

Most of SEMA coverage part 4 was from the Wheel & Tire hall of the SEMA show. Looking through the photos for that batch I noticed I had amassed a decent amount of wheel shots from the various exhibitors at the show. Instead of working these photos in with a set of normal event coverage I figured these shots would make a great weekend post and so, here is the '2010 SEMA Wheel Gallery'.

Built for a purpose

This car is easily one of my favorite EG's in the area. I followed the initial build closely on jdmrides.ca (actually the main reason I joined the site) and have continued to watch the car evolve from daily driver/track car to track car/daily driver as the years have gone by. Over the winter Spenser plans to do even more function oriented work to the car so that next year it's even more of a contender out on the Shannonville Track.

WTF Friday: Compact Disasters

I have nothing against compact cars, if you need something to drive with the misses and are not really concerned about performance or hauling miscellaneous crap around with you then they are perfect.. However when modifying them it's best to not use a heavy handed approach but rather with a certain grace & finesse. Most certainly not with a full size body kit and a large quantity of body filler. These talented, but misguided body men decided to throw caution to the wind and go all in, here are the results.

Theme Tuesdays: Rider Owned

I'm not exactly sure how or when it happened but BMX riders have managed to successfully infiltrate nearly every area of the car scene. From pro level riders with awesome cars, to pro level drivers with a bikes they tinker with during the off season, the BMX/car crossover is simply impossible to ignore.
