WTF Friday: I ain’t even mad

Even though this 'go kart' has a pull string throttle, bench seat (with no belts), mismatched bald tires, a frame of unknown origin, was built with 'hold my beer' mechanics, and looks to be about 8 kinds of dangerous, I'm not going to lie I kind of want to drive it. It looks (and sounds) like the motors best days are behind it anyway so what is the worst that could happen?

Theme Tuesdays: Dat Ass Part 3

On Sunday I saw something that made me think I should do another 'Dat Ass' Theme Tuesday post and, foolishly, I didn't save it in the hopes I would remember it when the time came to put the post together. No such luck.

WTF Friday: Back To The Future

On the silver screen DeLoreans (Doc Brown's anyway) are a mechanical marvel worth turning into a time machine powered by stolen plutonium. In reality by the time they finished jumping through all the hoops required to go from idea to production vehicle they ended up as stainless steel disappointments.

WTF Friday: More Questions Than Answers

There is a particularly humorous episode of Futurama that involves the Planet Express crew going under water to a city much like Atlantis. Hilarity of course ensues and a after series of particularly ridiculous events concludes with Bender picking up a lit cigar (under water remember) Hermes exclaims "and that just raises further questions!" Hermes' repeated confused reaction and desire to grasp what is going on in that scene is exactly how I felt when I first saw this Geo Metro(?) turned into whatever it is now.

Anarchy

I'm pretty sure not everyone is going to like this car and that's alright because I am almost absolutely positive the owner doesn't care, and I just like to see just what kind of cars I can get away with posting before one of you has me committed (or at the very least disconnects my internet). According to -273 before this car became what it is today it started as some kind of 50s Ford.

Event Coverage: Mega Speed Part 4

I'll be concluding the 2012 Mega Speed coverage today with photos of the Imports, Euros, and Exotics along with a few of the exhibitors booths that were in the back hall of the International center. This post is a little tail heavy clocking in at about 50 or so photos so if you are on your phone maybe save this for when you can grab some wifi.

Event Coverage: Mega Speed Part 1

Being one of my favorite shows in the area I was pretty worried when I heard that Performance World was no more because it was one of the few shows that catered to every part of the automotive hobby. Thankfully the Mega Speed Custom Car and Truck Show team (which I hear is a lot of the same people behind Performance World) picked right up where P.W. left off and as a spectator I didn't really notice a difference between this new show and the previous shows.

2012 Canadian International Auto Show Part: 1

By now I am sure most of you are aware that the Canadian International Auto Show is currently being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Center until February 26th. In addition to your typical auto show fare (concept cars, new models, 2012 updates, and so forth) the show also has a number of specialty rooms showcasing Triumps, Classic cars, and Exotic cars.

BBS RS Love From Japan

Many regard Japan as one of a few meccas of automotive culture. Having never been I can't confirm or deny this fact but based on the amount of people flocking to Japan to take pictures of cars I can only assume it is at least partially true. Something I have always found interesting about Japan's automotive scene is the fact that while they often set the trends we follow here they also pick up on a lot of our styling cues and more often than not improve on them.

Oliver’s Travels: 1

In celebration of the fan page surpassing the 8k milestone (thanks) I've decided to debut a new category on the site called 'Olivers Travels'. Who's Oliver you might ask? Well Oliver (Ollie) is a long time reader and knowledgeable enthusiast who has submitted a few things here and there before.

WTF Friday: 2JZ Trike?

Trikes by design are a little weird. They are not quite a motorcycle, and not quite a car and often piloted by people with big beards and awesome bandanas. Today's trike isn't just a little weird it is a lot of crazy and comes from @clintjollygreen via twitter. Clint spotted this single turbo 2jz powered trike at an Ama superbike race in Wisconsin.

Theme Tuesdays: Favourite Shots of 2011

I had another theme ready to go today until I realized that this was the last Tuesday of the year and I should do something 'special' for the occasion. Going to events and shooting features for a year adds up to a large number of photos and since I have never really brought together my personal favourites before I figured that was enough of a theme to go with for today. These shots are in no particular order.
