Sometimes I spend so much time looking for different and obscure cars to do Theme Tuesdays on that I forget about the classics.
That is the only somewhat sane justification I can give for taking so long to do a Tuesday post on the Acura NSX.
I know some of you shudder at the thought of ‘NSX’ and ‘stance’ in the same sentence but don’t worry not all of these are tipped totally towards the form site of things.

I know I missed quite a few that have recently made the net, don’t worry though part two is already twelve photos deep….
Many regard Japan as one of a few meccas of automotive culture. Having never been I can’t confirm or deny this fact but based on the amount of people flocking to Japan to take pictures of cars I can only assume it is at least partially true.
Something I have always found interesting about Japan’s automotive scene is the fact that while they often set the trends we follow here they also pick up on a lot of our styling cues and more often than not improve on them.
I stumbled on these two cars a few weeks ago and in addition to demonstrating just how clean cars from Japan are, it also further illustrates the versatility of the almighty BBS RS.
How many other wheels not only look great both a Celsior and Mira but also come in sizing for both?
From what I can skim from the top of the blog posts with the help of Google Translate is that the Daihatsu Mira L700S is Daigo’s daily driver and in addition to lots of low it’s got a lip spoiler, a genuine (oem upgrade perhaps) front bumper, and HIDs.
Specs are 7″ et+30 BBS RS wheels with 5mm spacers and about 5-6 degrees of camber all around.
Fittingly quite a few photos were taken of it at Hella Flush Japan.
The Celsior, which dwarfs the Mira in size, seems to be Daigo’s weekend toy that has gone through a number of revisions including one on Champion Edition LMS.
The most recent setup has the car sitting it on top of 19″ (8.5-1/9.5+5) BBS Super RS wheels.
Problems with the exhaust paying the toll to the ground are often mentioned which leads me to believe that it sucks to roll hard even in Japan.
This Miata is the automotive equivalent of the KFC ‘Double Down‘ sandwich. It takes a sound concept (in this case a v8 Miata) and doubles it up into something that isn’t very visually appealing and ultimately extremely hazardous to your health.
With two Chevy 350s out in the open air and a frame that looks ready to give in on itself safe this probably isn’t. But loud, over the top, and obnoxious it certainly is.
Note in the videos below how long it takes to get this obnoxiously long roadster out of its parking spot and pointed down the street and then remember that Mazda originally designed the Miata to be nimble.
Another thing worth noting is the fittingly doubled up cherry bombs that make up the side pipes.
This is also somehow perfectly street legal, just like the double down.
Kudos to the builders for getting this thing built and running though, I see far too many photos of twin engine vehicles that leave you wondering if they run and drive.
I’m hoping to make it out to media day so if you are going to be there on that day feel free to give me a holler, I should be in a Stance Is Everything tee.
Certainly going really heavy on the bagged cars this week, not 100% intentional, but how could you not like an e30 as beautiful as this?
The recipe for success in this case is a clean late model, Gotti wheels in specs that suit the car to a tee, a dash of stretch, and a healthy serving of low.
If this car looks a little familiar it is because a teaser video featuring it (and an mk4 Jetta) was posted on the fanpage earlier this week.
After how well the video was received a post of the still shots was a must.
That fitment.Only stretched to what is necessary16x9/16x10Location kind of reminds me of the distillery hereThe owners good with a lens also, which never hurtsThe only thing I would love to see is a shot or two sans roof rack
One of the most unnecessary arguments in the automotive community, in my opinion, is the static vs air debate.
I just don’t get it, people should get down how they want to get down and that should be the end of it.
Both setups have advantages and disadvantages and sure people on air can raise their car now and again to get over obstacles but is that worse than having an entirely different car to drive daily or turning your coils down at or before a show?
For this weeks Theme Tuesday I contacted the guys at Air Society for a little help hopefully getting a few static fans to at least appreciate what is over on the “dark side”.

If you never been over to Air Society I recommend checking out their forums where a number of cool builds are going down including my friend John’s widebody Mazda 3 which should be on air really soon.
Remember Level One? The Toronto group who’s video spread like wild fire late 2011? Well they have already started making moves for 2012 with James releasing a few photos of his s2000’s latest look.
True to Level One form the car looks great.
Of course it also looked great before as well:
May 29th 2011 lookBeside fellow Level One member DanA closer look at the later revision
For 2012 the car looks significantly different thanks to a Spoon bumper and Volk TE-7 Super Laps.
The bumper really changes the front end drasticallyEvery revision of this car has taken full advantage of those over fendersThese pictures were taken recently in the middle of "winter"Can't wait to see it in the summer with the top dropped
Those wheels look a little familiar I wonder if they came off Dan’s s2000 or maybe even Carson’s Evo?
Knowing Level One though they are probably brand new.
Don’t be surprised if more photos of this car start to pop up real soon, I know when I see it in person I will be taking more than a few.
This is one of two Bosozoku builds to be posted here on Stance Is Everything and really it was only a matter of time before more and more North American interpretations of this Japanese tuning style started popping up.
There are a few builds out in California and perhaps couple more in Florida but now Arizona as a boso build to call their own.
The owner of this B2200, who is a member of the Alabama Racing Scene forums, doesn’t really seem to be taking this build too seriously but at the same time is taking it pretty serious.
Maybe the best way to describe it is something that started as a joke but began to evolve into something much more.
Starting platform, a once pristine mini build perhaps?2" spacers4" spacers...Dropped... huge purple boso exhaustThis truck is no garage queen that is for sureFresh paint version 1.0It is still a truck after all...The flares really make quite the difference...Possible final rendering a.Possible final rendering b.Shit just got real
The owner also has an STI, a Fiat, and a Triumph so I don’t think he is ultimately too worried how this thing turns out.
Site Updates
The most obvious update this week would be the redesign of the site but in addition to that I have already been alerted to 4 shows for 2012, a couple of which I might have some part in, details as the begin to materialize.
Also I guess the groundhog said spring is going to come soon so I have to get on a few projects for my car, nothing major though.
Finally a few more proposals and joint projects forthcoming with other sites, stores, and the like.
Flashback Friday
Turns out this is actually the second Boso build to be posted here, this was the first.
James the owner of the Boso box in that post sums everything up pretty well “its for sure a love or hate style of modding”.
My apologies for any damage done to your cheque book caused by my posting items up for sale two days in a row but just look at this Subaru.
It is honestly one of the most intimidating and refined looking Subarus I have seen in a long while.
There is a lot to be said about raw looking track cars, but a car that can get down on the track and still look this good sitting still?
Best of both worlds.
18x10.5 +15mm offset... 290/30/18... lord have mercyHopefully the drive up to this point is as fun as I am imaginingAbsolutely sinisterMove over. The heart of the beast
The wheels pictured in this post are pretty damn rad, originally manufactured by Campagnolo (Campy to the cyclists) for a 77 Ferrari 08 GT4 the owner sent them to rotiform for re-drilling and refinishing so he could mount them to his Jetta.
Now the wheels are for sale for $3000 which is pretty reasonable given their rarity.
Perfect for the person who is looking to stand out this season without resorting to insanely bright colors or near double digit camber.
Lookin' factory freshFor wheels originally made to fit a Ferrari they look awesome on a JettaPre Rotiform..and afterand because it is Wednesday here is a winter shotThe only other car the seller was able to find with the wheels in question
