Remember Level One? The Toronto group who’s video spread like wild fire late 2011? Well they have already started making moves for 2012 with James releasing a few photos of his s2000’s latest look.
True to Level One form the car looks great.
Of course it also looked great before as well:
May 29th 2011 lookBeside fellow Level One member DanA closer look at the later revision
For 2012 the car looks significantly different thanks to a Spoon bumper and Volk TE-7 Super Laps.
The bumper really changes the front end drasticallyEvery revision of this car has taken full advantage of those over fendersThese pictures were taken recently in the middle of "winter"Can't wait to see it in the summer with the top dropped
Those wheels look a little familiar I wonder if they came off Dan’s s2000 or maybe even Carson’s Evo?
Knowing Level One though they are probably brand new.
Don’t be surprised if more photos of this car start to pop up real soon, I know when I see it in person I will be taking more than a few.
This is one of two Bosozoku builds to be posted here on Stance Is Everything and really it was only a matter of time before more and more North American interpretations of this Japanese tuning style started popping up.
There are a few builds out in California and perhaps couple more in Florida but now Arizona as a boso build to call their own.
The owner of this B2200, who is a member of the Alabama Racing Scene forums, doesn’t really seem to be taking this build too seriously but at the same time is taking it pretty serious.
Maybe the best way to describe it is something that started as a joke but began to evolve into something much more.
Starting platform, a once pristine mini build perhaps?2" spacers4" spacers...Dropped... huge purple boso exhaustThis truck is no garage queen that is for sureFresh paint version 1.0It is still a truck after all...The flares really make quite the difference...Possible final rendering a.Possible final rendering b.Shit just got real
The owner also has an STI, a Fiat, and a Triumph so I don’t think he is ultimately too worried how this thing turns out.
Site Updates
The most obvious update this week would be the redesign of the site but in addition to that I have already been alerted to 4 shows for 2012, a couple of which I might have some part in, details as the begin to materialize.
Also I guess the groundhog said spring is going to come soon so I have to get on a few projects for my car, nothing major though.
Finally a few more proposals and joint projects forthcoming with other sites, stores, and the like.
Flashback Friday
Turns out this is actually the second Boso build to be posted here, this was the first.
James the owner of the Boso box in that post sums everything up pretty well “its for sure a love or hate style of modding”.
My apologies for any damage done to your cheque book caused by my posting items up for sale two days in a row but just look at this Subaru.
It is honestly one of the most intimidating and refined looking Subarus I have seen in a long while.
There is a lot to be said about raw looking track cars, but a car that can get down on the track and still look this good sitting still?
Best of both worlds.
18x10.5 +15mm offset... 290/30/18... lord have mercyHopefully the drive up to this point is as fun as I am imaginingAbsolutely sinisterMove over. The heart of the beast
The wheels pictured in this post are pretty damn rad, originally manufactured by Campagnolo (Campy to the cyclists) for a 77 Ferrari 08 GT4 the owner sent them to rotiform for re-drilling and refinishing so he could mount them to his Jetta.
Now the wheels are for sale for $3000 which is pretty reasonable given their rarity.
Perfect for the person who is looking to stand out this season without resorting to insanely bright colors or near double digit camber.
Lookin' factory freshFor wheels originally made to fit a Ferrari they look awesome on a JettaPre Rotiform..and afterand because it is Wednesday here is a winter shotThe only other car the seller was able to find with the wheels in question
-Originally 5×108, redrilled to 5×100
-15×8 et 20ish front 15×9 et 8ish rearfronts are 15×8, 2″ lip, and roughly et 20
-lips are chrome and centers are gold powdercoat
After yesterdays Mopar fest I figured I should try my best to get the Chevy guys back on board ( and deal with blue oval fans another day).
I’ve never been a huge fourth generation Camaro fan but this one really caught my eye.
Maybe it was the photos, the height its at, or the fact its in the snow, I can’t really say but I felt compelled to save and share these photos.
On topic of Camaros does anyone like the 78-79s other than myself? My girlfriend swears up and down that I am the only person that could possibly like the late second gens.
However because she hates IROCS so I consider her opinion invalid as no 80s child should hate IROCS.
Ok Mopar fans you can ease up on the hate encouraging emails because I am finally doing the ‘turbo dodge’ Theme Tuesday many of you have requested.
While Dodge has a habit of turbo charging random vehicles their owners are generally not down to to put them on the ground.
After sifting through many fairly negatively toned threads about stance I was able to find a decent selection of lowered Mopar vehicles that came from the factory equipped with snails (with a few exceptions).
A few of you also helped out with emails as well.
Dodge Conquest
So what these were/are really Mitsubishis? They were sold here under the Dodge platform so it wouldn’t be right not to include at least a couple
They kind of remind me of early SuprasThis one was from an old guest blog on SpeedhuntersBest plate this Tuesday?
Neons/Daytonas
I once inquired about buying a turbo Daytona, it was sitting outside a local shop with the motor in the hatch. The owner said he would put it back in for two thousand dollars, I ended up with my e30 and that car was never fixed.
This car is local, though I have never seen it, unlike any other I have seenEngine compartment of the aboveThe lowest/cleanest Daytona I could find
SRTs
Didn’t post too many of these only to leave the door open for a dedicated Theme Tuesday at a later date on SRT’s in general.
Found this in a thread called SRT Forums most hatedAnd I believe I found this one in a thread of people arguing about stanceSup V2lab
Omni and Omni GLH
Dodge gets a lot of credit (from me) for releasing a car with the acronym ‘Goes Like Hell’ attached to the name. Could you imagine that happening now?
No me either.
This is a readers old GLH that had a built 2.5 running a 58 trim turboNot actually 100% sure if this one is a GLH but easily the lowest of the bunchAnother angle of it… photo is pretty low res so I don’t think it is a shopLooks very, very, similar to a Rabbit from this angleK-1s? In celebration of the fan page surpassing the 8k milestone (thanks) I’ve decided to debut a new category on the site called ‘Olivers Travels‘.
Who’s Oliver you might ask? Well Oliver (Ollie) is a long time reader and knowledgeable enthusiast who has submitted a few things here and there before.
I am convinced Ollie simply loves anything with a motor and four wheels because week after week he sends me a variety of cars that he finds in places he won’t identify.
This part 1 of Oliver’s Travels is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his submissions and should give you an idea of the variety to expect from these posts.
Ollie is a bit of a Mini fan.. by a bit I mean quite a Mini fanMore so fast Minis with Honda motorsThis Volvo was recently featured on Stance | Works but Ollie sent it in ages agoBombs, not always weapons of mass destructionThis is a 48 International MetroWide body v12 monster of a CobraIf Ollie told me the wing keeps this car from going airborne I'd believe himAlfa Romeo GTV6 RenderingOh my stars and garters...Hubs and whites! The Skull Orchard ExpressGassers... functional Stance OGs?Grande lighting them up
Ollie has been a long time reader and contributor for awhile so it only made sense to give him something regular.
Hopefully you like this new addition to the content.
About a week ago Will from Stance East (who is known to rock SIE shirts in the club) asked on the facebook page if low riders ever tip over after I posted a pic of an Impala hoping.
However, it would appear that if you three wheel a square body s-10 blazer there isn’t really anything stopping you from going ass over tea kettle while bending them corners.
Not going to lie I hang around layitlow.com just to see things like thisFlexin'Impressive hops tooLocked upBall so hard... that shit tippedClean ass undercarriage thoughSomeone on the forum said they did it before and just tipped it back and drove home lol
I have not made my way all the way through the 230 plus thread to see if this particular one got rebuilt, but I don’t see why the owner wouldn’t fix it, all things considered its not too badly damaged.
Got a few interesting proposals both local and abroad in my mailbox to take a look at as well but first I got areply from the city about the roadwork that put a flat spot in my Equip so I will follow up on that.
Flashback Friday
Posted up a red e30 on the fanpage this week and someone responded perfect, made me think of this one.
In the original post an e21 Theme Tuesday was suggested… I need to write that one down.
Late in 2011 I got a fairly larger order from a Takafumi Ebata, a Stance Is Everything reader from Japan.
The first time I sent out the order I misread it and as a result a few things were missing, so to make amends I resent the entire order along with some freebies from the mystery box.
Fast forward a few weeks and Takafumi showed his appreciation by sending through some photos from Fitted Fes 1 which took place January 22nd in Nagashima Japan.
Other than my friend Josh (and by association Hoda) I don’t really have any real first hand connection to the automotive scene, or culture, in Japan so I really appreciate Takafumi giving me the opportunity to run his photos here.
Furthermore with the internet currently saturated with coverage from the Tokyo Auto Salon it is really cool to see some photos what could be considered a typical meet in Japan.
Vans
I think at this point the people of Japan have modified more vans than North America did in the 1970s.
While I like 70s vans for their nostalgia I think if you take everything into account Japan knows their way around the family hauler.
Rusted panels have made their way over seas... perhaps by seaThis looks like a giant aquarium on wheels slammed to the groundThis is a Toyota Wish, and up until a few days ago I had never heard of it
Euro
One of the first photos that caught my eye in Takafumi’s coverage is the absolutely incredible looking e36 at the end of this group of photos.
For no reason in particular I assumed European cars wouldn’t be as popular in Japan as they are here, obviously I was wrong.
Nice Audi in the foreground and looks like something interesting in the background alsoThat rear fitment is money, and the USAF stickers are a neat detailAnother very nice e46 also with exceptional fitment. Is it just me or do those rear arches look a little wider than stock?Clean dumped BMW 1Japan's take on the MKII Golf, much like what you would see hereIs that a touch of pin striping on the hood?More on point fitment, nice WRX in the background tooWhile this e36 is super cleanThis e36 really stole the euro content in my eyes, great example of the classic picture perfect e36
Import/Domestics
Of course domestics and Imports in this sense are the exact opposite of domestics here.
Hey look a VibeSome sort of Holden?Cali plates! Maybe some of the sites stickers made their way onto this car?Fender rawed or wrapped? Not quite sureMore Mazda3 owners need to run the oem lip like this ownerLove this generation Prelude and the NT-03ms look great on itOf course I had to run a photo of the Datsun seen in the Prelude photoThis Celica has minimal camber compared to those I have seen out of Japan latleyPea green DC2 Integra with North American front end and EquipsBeautiful xbSquare setup on this G?Japan has no issue with XXR....maybe this will change a few opinions over here?If only I saw this on Tuesday!Japan loves their camberClose this out with a very nicely done Cressy
Huge thanks to Takafumi for sending these photos in and I hope that this translates to Japanese at least somewhat legibly.
Minitruckers are no strangers to wild front end swaps, some turn out great and some turn out not so great.
I stumbled across this s10 Blazer with a c10 front end when I was pulling together this weeks ‘no shine’ Theme Tuesday and thought it was worthy of a post of its own outside of that due to how unique it is.
This front end manages to be a huge departure from the standard Blazer front end but not look entirely out of place once you get over the initial shock.
The work looks fairly sound too.
Keeping the body lines was a great touch, and they look pretty straightThe rear lights look different too C10 as well? This > Phantom Grill
Apparently this truck belongs to someone named ‘Lil B’ and was spotted at Rollers Only in 2009.
Contrary to the title at this point I am pretty sure I want it.
