I’ve been noticing smooth chrome wheels seem to be surfacing outside of the rod/muscle/mini truck scene lately, and while I wouldn’t want to see these wheels popping up ever where, I do like them in moderation. It’s a nice change of pace from the standard fare.
This VW is going for that moon eye lookI quite like this car but without the slam the wheels would not workThe wheels compliment the grillI have posted this Volvo Amazon before but it's worth re posting in this context.Take the wing off the back of this crx and I would be all over itToaster on smoothies
On the plus side these wheels would be really easy to keep clean, since there would be no brake dust. On the down side brake temperature is probably through the roof, however I don’t imagine that anyone in their right mind would track with these wheels so that’s probably not even an issue.
Subaru’s are capable cars that are meant to be drive all year round. Today we have two Subaru’s that are not afraid to be out in the fluffy white stuff that falls from the sky.
This first one is my friend Krystyn’s (who I have talked about before) old STI and I everything about this photo is awesome. Fresh snow and an open parking lot is always a recipe for a good time.
May this car rest in peace
The second of today’s winter Subaru’s is a slammed pig nose sitting nicely on some flushed out wheels. Whether these are Rota’s or real Emotions doesn’t matter what matters is this car looks sick and the owner enjoys it.
Pig nose really grew on me
As for here in the GTA it snowed last night which means my car got nice and dirty on the drive in this morning. Perfect!
The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that suit the vehicles intent). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: Honda Accords
Growing up my mom had a 1988 Honda Accord, it was maroon and pretty ugly but it had flip up headlights which always intrigued me a little bit. Beyond that though not much about the car or Accords in general interested me for years to come.
As the rice phase passed and Accords got cleaner and cleaner they started popping up on my radar more often and lately seem to be a quite popular platform for the stance/flush crowd. Coincidentally my mom just picked up an 09, maybe I will have to drop it on her when no one is looking.
I was going to organize this by generations but I’m not really up on my Accord generations so I did them from oldest to newest best I could based on look…
Clean straight foward CB, the pin stripe around the trim is quite niceI'm normally not a fan of car bras but this car is pulling it off wellEvery car so far has had a roof rack, unintentional I swearMy gf thinks I am crazy for liking Accord WagonsI see this Wagon all the time in the summer at the skate parkMesh and dish can never failJoey from the Chronicles had a sick ass accord on WorksVIP styled Accord, nice fitmentMore racksThat's a big lipCali styleOne of the cleanest Accords I have ever seenKey Chain's sixth gen has been making its rounds on the internetAnd for good reason these MB battles look great on this carLocal sixth gen at import festOne half of the Tucson duo behind the lens the other in frontAnother Accord sitting on battlesIf your roads look like this slam it to the groundGreat looking shot great looking carHawaii once again showing us how it's doneNever seen this color before, it's quite niceThis gives me ideas for my moms newest Accord
This morning my gf and I realized the fatal flaw of the standard alarm clock, you have to set it.
Luckily I’ve had these photos uploaded since last week when I was going to post them until something else came up. I don’t really know a lot about this car other than the fact that its a build from Portugal shot by Gonçalo Reis.
The car is really, really, clean and rocks that classic black and white color scheme that just works so well on these cars.
Clean and period correctNothing over done hereNice assGoing for speedGoing for style
While I would love to link to a buildthread on this car I actually can’t find it anywhere. However Gonçalo Reis’s flickr account has got a ton of other rad automotive photography to keep you amused so be sure to check it out.
For example:
Gotta love how calm both of them areAnd boom goes the dynamiteLove to see e30 m3s on the track
Finally if you have not seen the movie Lucky Number Slevin go do that, it’s great.
All of the images and video in today’s WTF Friday post are pretty random but they are all loosely automotive related and pretty weird so up they go.
I’ve also added a flashback Friday portion to my Friday posts to shine some light on older content some of the new readers might not have seen.
The Barrel Bike
I can’t imagine what this would be like to take down a hill… probably loud and somewhat out of control.
It's got a cup holder! my e30 didn't even have oneThose kids are jealous
Random Images
Just some stuff, you know.
Haha vut?BangbikeI could ask you guys wtf kind of car this is but I won't do that to you...
Tight Garage
Grant sent me this one and it’s actually kind of sad and awesome all at the same time. It’s cool to see that this guy is working with what he has and figured out a way to get out of his car right into his house, I wonder how long it took to get this dialed.
Since I have a decent amount of back content that some of my newer fan base might not have seen I have decided to add flashback Friday paragrpahs in the standard WTF Friday fare.
I actually found some time to put the mobile theme on last weekend so that’s pretty handy (at least for me). I’ve also been contacted by Image Space Media to test out there new way of serving ads on images and I might try it out on a few pages and see how it effects performance and usability. I don’t want this site to look like a Nascar so I’m a bit hesitant to start stuffing ads all over the place but we will see.
Other than that its business as usual, traffic is steady and I bought a box of envelopes for sticker shipments. TGIF!
Chris Savard’sdouble now triple build The Infamous Project has been moving along ahead of schedule. The AC Schnitzer e36 is more or less complete, just awaiting a few final finishing parts, and the Mustang is next up for some mods followed by his Lightning. The e36 looks exactly like the rendering except for one minor detail, it’s actually lower!
The man behind the renderings actually thought that the height he rendered it was lower than Chris could actually realistically drop it.
Chris laughed at this and took it as a challenge, looks like Chris won.
The inital renderingI've never seen someone match their wheels to their trim before works really wellE36s always tuck so hard in the rearNotice that the splitter also matches the rims
Spotted this set of photos on HellaIV via EKHatch and I have to admit I was pretty impressed with the use of a fairly common location. Photos in train yards are nothing new but I have never seen someone drive on the rails like this before.
I couldn’t imagine doing it I would worry about driving off the rail and somehow getting stuck, that would be hard to explain not to mention embarrassing.
This looks similar to Dans Jetta which I posted in readers ridesProbably the most clearence this under carriage has seen in a long timeNice raked stance
Now I know that some of you looking at this photo are thinking ‘whats so special about a square body s-10 Blazer/Jimmy in the snow?’ Well this isn’t just a square body s-10 Blazer (the best gen) its an honest to goodness GMC Typhoon! While I am sure the modestly rated 280hp/360 ft/lbs of tq factory turbocharged 6 cylinder 4.3L powered Typhoon would be tons of fun in the snow, salty climates these things rust out faster than the electric gauges in standard Jimmy’s will fail.
Even though GM totally wussed out and never built anything quite like the Typhoon (or its s10/Sonoma sibling the Syclone) again these trucks will always go down in history as fast little s.o.b.s that could not only hunt down Corvettes of the same vintage but 300zx’s as well as Ferrari 348ts.
At 30,000 new these things were a steal compared to what else was availible at the time. Now I think they hover at around 12-15k making them an attainable dream car for me and if I ever do own one you can bet it will be lower, faster, and less fuel efficient than it came from the factory.
Awd would come in handy in these conditions
Until I own one of my own feel free to watch this review from Motor Week review 1992:
When I started this blog aside from the somewhat far fetched goal of going to SEMA I didn’t really have any goals set goals, I figured I would post and let things unfold as they will. Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined that one day stickers with my url would be next to a Fatlace sticker on an army vehicle, on an army base, without someone going to jail.
Although never a goal, seeing this makes me feel very, very accomplished.
SSgt Phil B contacted me in the comments of the Stickr’d post asking how he could get some stickers to throw on his hydraulic equipped Air Force Loader and contributing photographer Keven Soldo covered the cost of the stickers to make it happen.
Shortly before Christmas I went to the post office, and after a bit of confusion about sending packages out to the middle of nowhere a few Stance Is Everything url stickers were on their way to Al Dhafra United Air Force Base.
Yesterday Phil sent along some pictures of those stickers on the loader along with some Fatlace stickers and it honestly made my week. It’s so cool to know that when he is on R and R from fighting for his country he takes time out to visit Stance Is Everything and takes time out to email me.
For a vehicle that spends it's time in the Desert it has surprisingly good stance
Wonder what its like to drive at full heightFatlace and myself holdin it downThe clear bit was removed after these pictures were takenHow wide you guys figure these wheels are?Phil ride that's waiting for him at homeAnd the man himself
I’m not going to get into the politics/controversy/opinions/whatever about ‘the war’ as there is already enough of that as it is and this isn’t the place for it.
I will say however, that I hope everyone currently fighting for what the believe in make it back home safely to their families, friends, pets and cars.
Thanks Phil for being a fan and sending in these photos!
The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that suit the vehicles intent). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: Vintage Lowriders
This one might be a little weird for some of you and if so I apologize but I fell asleep Saturday night watching the Barrett Jackson Auction, woke up Saturday morning in time to watch Living The Low Life with Vida Guerra, and then yesterday after reading a Speed Hunters article on Eric Big Daddy Roth I stumbled across some vintage pictures of vintage low riders.
I figured all of this was some sort of divine intervention telling me to post some real classic stuff for this weeks theme so I searched for some vintage low rider scans on google and this is what I dug up.
Hopefully you guys enjoy!
