Theme Tuesdays: Honda Preludes

From the perspective of someone who doesn't live and breath Honda it the Preludes seems like the black sheep of the community when compared to Civics, CRXs, and even Accords. At shows and events there numbers are always fairly small. I don't think the Prelude is an unattractive car at all and with the right touch all generations can be done up tastefully. I think if Honda made them in a FR configuration more people would mess with them today instead of just plucking their motors and moving on.

Event Coverage: Parking Lot Pimpin’ 3

Since I was young I've always had an interest in the Lowrider culture, and while it's tough to say who exactly started this stance business I think it's safe to assume that Lowrider guys are some of the true OGs. When I found out this event was taking place minutes from my house deciding whether or not to attend was a no-brainer, especially because for the longest time my only exposure to cars like these was through television and music.

WTF Friday: Big Bertha

It's been awhile since I've posted something questionable/'too each their own' looking in a WTF Friday post so here is an... interesting truck I came across on s10 forum. I'm fairly sure the owner of this truck would vomit at the cars I normally post here as it is quite obvious the thought patterns of he or she and myself when it comes to car modifications do not come anywhere close to matching up.

I want a Versa

If you asked me this morning if I would type those words my answer would have been no but Dominic of Dominant Engineering, who is also the owner of the Ford Focus SVT I featured awhile back, sent me an email this afternoon that changed my tune. In two days Dom took his girlfriends Versa from stock to this, including fixing the cracked and curbed wheels.

Import Bible

David over at Import Bible has been on his grind and is currently in his fifth year of designing and producing shirts independently. To celebrate this respectable feat he has released his series 5 T shirts. As a show of support and Canadian brotherly love David sent me a shirt, lanyard, and a couple stickers from his latest line. My wardrobe is mostly made up of BMX shirts and stuff from 80stees.com so getting some automotive apparel into the mix was long over due.

Ninteen Plus

Of all the oem wheel catalogs out there I think BMW probably has (or maybe had?) the best selection. A good number of their wheels look great and come in sizing that makes them versatile enough to make there way from one model BMW to another as well as cars outside of the BMW umbrella. To this day M Parallels are one of my favorite wheels and style 5's are legendary but I've obviously been sleeping on style 19s because this e36 I found on v2lab looks simply stunning.

Theme Tuesdays: Lettin’ the sparks fly

One of the hardest things I have ever tried to do is explain to friends and co workers who are not really into cars is why exactly I, and people like me, enjoy seeing a low vehicle leave a trail of sparks in it's wake while traveling at high speed. Of course to a lot of rational people this act is counter productive and downright dangerous and that's probably why I like it. Life is short right?

Featured Ride: Tim’s Wrx

Normally the features on this site are written in more of a magazine style tone and not the same personal tone the rest of the posts are written in, however in regards to this car and it's owner I felt a more personal approach was justified. In the short time I have known Tim (the owner and builder of today's Subaru) I have come to learn a few things about him. He's a talented do it yourself mechanic, a Batman fanatic, a proud father, and one heck of a nice guy.

WTF Friday: Swangin’

Going to let this one go a little early this week given the circumstances (Cuba internet is unreliable): Swing up doors are a bit of a touchy subject nowadays. They were quite popular for awhile but of late have dropped off to the point where most people rocking them currently just can't be bothered to swap them back.

Event Coverage: Importfest 2011 Pt: 2

Here's the second part of the 2011 Importfest coverage (well third if you include the women). Compared to last year the first thing I noticed when I showed up at Importfest this year was how incredibly busy it was. While this is obviously awesome it made getting clear photos a little harder than usual, but with some patience I was able to put in work. I tried my best not to re shoot too many of the same cars from the previous coverage so that those who didn't make the show could get an idea of the variety of cars IF brings out.

Buick Turbo V6 Swapped 1968 Chevrolet Camaro

A GM fan's wet dream. The looks of a 67 Camaro, the power of a Buick Grand National. This sub 10 second car saw plenty of miles and none behind a trailer.
