Guest Blog: Theme Tuesdays: At The Car Wash

Car washes are fun when you're young, but frankly, if you're out of the training diapers it's about as boring as it gets when it comes to cars. Unless of course, there are women in wet, skimpy clothes bending over to polish your dirty body. And what makes it even more special and makes us feel a lot less guilty for wanting to partake, is when companies do these car washes for charity! (Plus our significant other can't get as mad). (Potentially NSFW, you've been warned :P)

Event Coverage: CSCS Opener 2011: Pt 2

Finally managed to make it to the end of my photo stack from last weekends double header. Including this post I have uploaded over 100 photos in the last four days. As much as I love going to events, hanging out, and documenting sometimes it's hard to find the time to sit down and edit the photos I take. This problem becomes more apparent when it's nice outside & work is kicking my ass. However the show must go on so here are the pictures from the CSCS opener show and shine.

Event Coverage: Fleetwood Cruize In Part 2

Continuing the Fleetwood Country Cruize In coverage from Monday I have got 40+ more photos of classic, mostly American, metal to share with the class. This show being my first outdoor classic show of 2011 might have spoiled me and set the expectations a little high for the rest of the year but I am still looking forward to checking out more classic events. As I have said again and again my favorite part about the classic events is the atmosphere and the conversations I have with the car owners, many of which who have owned and worked on their cars for longer than I have been alive.

Event Coverage: Fleetwood Cruize In: Part 1

Since I had never been to Fleetwood Country Cruize In before I wasn't really sure what to expect. I figured it would be pretty good at least being affiliated with The Speed Channel and Meguairs' Car Crazy, but I really had no idea just how big of a classic car event this was until we were on our way to Dorchester the night before and we passed classic after classic on the highway. This was easily the biggest car show I have been to in Ontario with vehicles sprawled all over the ginormous Plunkett estate. It was a sight to behold and worth the trip if you were ever debating it.

Guest Coverage: Summer Sizzle 3

I didn't mean to leave you guys without any new content yesterday but things have been a bit hectic at work which means more time spent there and less time spent elsewhere, however thanks to Mike Branco I've got even more event coverage from this past event filled weekend in the Toronto area. While I wasn't able to make it out to this years Summer Sizzle put on by Pur Secretz Mike happened to be showing at the event and was nice enough to snap a few photos for use here.

Event Coverage: S&P May 29th 2011: Part 2

Here is the second batch of photos from the first Stretch & Poke meet of 2011. Over 150 cars turned up to this meet which actually dwarfed a few of the shows that day. I am really glad you guys chose Euros for Part 1 on the fan page because it gave me a chance to edit the rest of the photos I took for todays much more photo intensive post.

Event Coverage: Krown Lakeshore Show & Shine

Before Stretch and Poke I swung by the Krown Lake Shore Charity Show & Shine put on by a friend of mine and fellow Toronto Mazda 3 member. The show was family run and family focused so it had a real positive vibe to it, and it's always great to see automotive enthusiasts getting behind Sick Kids Hospital as they do incredible things (I am living proof).

No Mercy.

I feel bad for people that can't appreciate a wide variety of vehicles because I couldn't imagine ever calling myself a car enthusiast and not liking something as magnificent as this Nova. The only thing I find harder to imagine is building a car like this then going on to sell it.

Theme Tuesdays: Pinup Girls

Pinup style models, (and Rockabilly - esque) women are something I never really see at shows around here, even the classic ones I go to. Whenever I see photos of them online I'm a fan for two reasons the first is because it's something different than your typical yoga pants and bikini top fare, and the second is that wherever a pin up style model is a bad ass classics is never too far behind.

Random Dopeness: Volume 6

I almost completely forgot I mentioned on Friday I was going to post today. At some point between doing my taxes, and cleaning the house, I remembered. I suppose I needed a distraction from those two mundane tasks. Here are a couple of my random favorites.

WTF Friday: The Goddamn Batman

Keeping the whole kit car thing going I've got another local kit car build that's sure to raise a few eyebrows and turn a few heads. Local Subaru nut, Batman fanatic, and all around nice guy Tim Neil is seeing through a life long dream of his and building a Bat Mobile. Not the Barris one most people think of either, he is building the one from the very dark (and very good) original Tim Burton Batman flick.

Guest Coverage: Bangkok Motor Show

My friend Jeff recently got out of dodge and skipped to Thailand for an extended vacation, on one hand this sucks because he was a blast to work and one of the best bosses I ever had, but on the flip side it rocks because now I have someone out in Thailand who is willing to go to events (that have women) and take pictures of the cars (and the women). Here are some photos from his recent trip to the 32nd Annual Bangkok Motor Show. Pretty cool to see what a motor show looks like in different country.
