Theme Tuesdays: Local Builds Part 1

It's been awhile since a build thread has appeared here, and with the season almost completely in full swing today seemed like the perfect time to post some of the local builds I've been following. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of these builds are at the first Stretch & Poke event on Sunday.

Event Coverage: 2012 Street Classics Season Opener

The 2012 Street Classics season offically started this past Saturday May 19th at the usual Canadian Tire Etobicoke location. Over the winter a number of new retail shops opened up with more on the way which has shifted the location of the show slightly but thankfully has not moved it or shut it down entirely.

WTF Friday: Truck Ram Rod

What's 10 feet 2 inches long, has 480hp, and runs a 12 second quarter mile at 110 miles per hour? This Truck. Why is that something worth talking about? It weighs almost 4000 pounds and has the aerodynamics of a flying shoe box.

EF ya

With my recent obsession with the Japanese American low rider scene I almost forgot about all the awesome native builds in Japan. Chances are pretty good I may have posted this EF sedan sometime before but even if I did it's not like it isn't worth seeing again.

Horse Show

Mustangs two weeks in a row? What's going on? Though most of the Mustang crowd hates the cars posted on this site those that are into the low life sure know how to put together an eye pleasing car.

Theme Tuesdays: Shelby Appreciation

I'm pretty sure today's Theme Tuesday theme is a surprise to no one, Carroll Shelby's impact on our culture is tremendous and to not have done a post touching on some of it would have been disrespectful of me. I'm not going to attempt to summarize his 89 years of life and impact on the automotive culture in this post but rather post some of the many cars he had a hand in creating, influencing, or building.

Street Finds: Life’s a gas

I often think of Gassers as one of the pioneers of stance, sure getting as low as possible wasn't their goal, but they were setting up their suspension for performance and visual appeal before myself and many reading this were born. There is no doubt in my mind that they also faced the same criticisms about 'ruining' cars that modern day stance enthusiasts do today.

WTF Friday: Harley cars

During a stop over on my way to Los Angeles I purchased the May issue of Hot Rod Magazine (along with an issue of Super Street) to pass the time. I ended up reading most of it while traveling but as I was removing it from my back pack to I noticed I skipped over an article featuring a Harley Davidson powered fiberglass 32 Ford.

In Print: Yours To Discover

Over the winter Rob from Performance Improvments asked if I would be interested in doing some writing for their bi monthly Performance In Motion magazine. The idea of having a few pages in a printed publication to do whatever I want with was very appealing and opportunity to reach a new audience was something I couldn't turn down, so I said yes.

SEMA Showstopper: unfuckwithable

The last time RWB was mentioned here was almost exactly a year ago in a post titled "RW Who?" that showcased this  DP Motorsport built  73 911. Then Rauh Welt Begriff had  brought  two extremely popular builds to SEMA --the now  black Pandora One 965 and the 965 Hoonigan-- and everyone who was anyone was photographing, posting, tweeting,  and just generally carrying on about those cars several times a day.

Top Content of 2010

Welcome to 2011 everyone! I hope this year is better than the last for all of you and for those of you that rang in the year with firewater I wish you a speedy recovery from the grips of a hangover.
