What Could Have Been

When my truck got broken into and written off I was left in a bit of a lurch looking for a car. I liked the wagon like properties of the Blazer but hated it being a slow gas pig, I loved Subaru Wagons but couldn't afford one, so I started to look at Mazda Protege 5s and although I ended up with a 3 I still have a soft spot for p5s.

Featured Photographer: Santiago Gomez

Lately photographers to feature have been few and far between, winter has a big part to do with this as motivation to shoot cars often goes out the window when the weather outside is consistently -15 degrees below zero and all the cars are covered in salt. Luckily while browsing the Union Auto Club blog I stumbled across a talented photographer named Santiago Gomez.

WTF Friday: Cars on truck frames

Awhile back I saw some wild lifted cars on the Outlaw videos site (which was linked to on the cardomain blog) and they amused me so I saved the pictures. I know lifted cars are nothing new but sometimes you have to wonder if they are worth the effort involved. Either way over the past few months I came across these pretty often so I figure WTF Friday was a way better way than Theme Tuesday to share them.

Blast from the past: The Collective work on AndreNY

Some consider the Stance/Fitment/Flush up-rise a terrible trash bin worthy fad that is one it's way out, while others acknowledge it as valid facet of the automotive community which is helping the scene move towards a cleaner less is more approach to modification. The dedicated know that it's all nothing new and and have been doing it for years.

Clean Dinah Bitch

I got the words "CLEAN Dinah Bitch" sent to me by sergio0h via twitter (which was a retweet of the same thing by TyCity) with a link to the car in this post. I still have no clue what Dinah means but after some light digging I found out that this car is actually a tidy little Toyota Starlet.

Winter Wednesdays: Buried

We got enough snow in the GTA yesterday to make my after work commute to the gym fairly lengthy so a Winter Wednesday post is justified this week. It's also been pretty cold and when it's cold there are few things more aggravating than brushing snow off your car. What really gets me is the snow that flies in once you open your door, I need to keep a snow brush in my side skirt or something...

Theme Tuesdays: DC chassis Integras

The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that suit the vehicles intent). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: DC chassis Integras

Mini Feature: Eric’s Mint Del Sol

Del Sols have always stuck out as interesting little cars, they tease with the look of a mid engine sports coupe while their underpinnings are actually hinged on the ever popular Civic chassis. As a successor to the much loved and ever popular Honda CRX Del Sols never seemed to catch on quite the same, however for every 10 people who look over the Del Sol there is one individual who is willing to put some time and money into this light and nimble chassis, Erich Hachey is one of those individuals.

Double Build Update

Looks like Christmas was good to some this year as two of the builds I have been sharing got pretty significant updates over the winter holiday, both the M-tricks Autosports 2002 build and Pat Cyr's F20 AE86 build were updated so let's take a look at what's been done.

2JZ: They Will Put That Shit In Anything!

2JZ motors remind me of the LS motor because, like the Chevy V8, people love to shoehorn Toyota's straight six into any engine bay big enough to hold it (and a few that are not). Other imports, domestics, European cars, and even a couple trucks have all been given 2JZ heart transplants over the years.

Winter Wednesdays: Winternational

Simply put I do not get to see enough of Rob's awesome International. I saw it at Scrape (By The Lake) in 2010, and...

Event Coverage: Candy On Chrome

Prior the the KJohn Wickedest Slam show I stopped by the True Playaz Candy and Chrome show a few minitues from my house. Last year I showed up way to early which meant a really long day so this year I showed up around 2:30 right in the middle of the action so to speak.

Winter Wednesdays:Icy Typhoon

Now I know that some of you looking at this photo thinking whats so special about a square body s-10 Blazer/Jimmy in the snow. Well this isn't just a sqaure body s-10 Blazer (the best gen) its an honest to goodness GMC Typhoon! While I am sure the modestly rated 280hp/360 ft/lbs of tq factory turbocharged 4.3L Typhoon would be tons of fun in the snow in salty climates these things rust out faster than the electric gauges in standard Jimmy's will fail.

WTF Friday July 17th Answers

I asked a few questions last Friday and it left most (all) of you stumped or silent via the comments (not so much msn). Anyway as to the answer of what last Fridays car was well. I think its some sort of Studebaker but to be honest I don't really know. The picture is named pretty ambiguously on my hard drive so I am going to have to do a little leg work to figure out what it was. As to which event I went to well...
