Event Coverage: 2013 CSCS Round 4

Vagkraft and round four of the Canadain Sport Compact Series unfortunately always seem to fall on the same day which means I have to make the difficult choice between to great events. As I'm sure you already know for 2013 my choice was Vagkraft however I like to run coverage from all the CSCS events so I asked around to see who would be making the voyage to Cayuga.

Vossen World Tour: Toronto

In late July the Vossen World Tour passed through Toronto stopping at Ertefa, Importfest, Niagara Falls, and Taylor'd Customs taking pictures and video as they travelled. I've been a fan of Vossen's video work ever since this video released in 2012 so I popped in on their shoot to peak at the method behind the madness.

Event Coverage: Vagkraft 2013

Historically Vagkraft has been a show I have always enjoyed due to it's laid back nature, great organization, and incredibly large turnout. Last year I ran into a bit of a scheduling conflict and was unable to attend but this year I cleared all that up in advance so I could head over to the Powerade Centre for a few hours and see what was up.

Theme Tuesdays: Rider Owned

I'm not exactly sure how or when it happened but BMX riders have managed to successfully infiltrate nearly every area of the car scene. From pro level riders with awesome cars, to pro level drivers with a bikes they tinker with during the off season, the BMX/car crossover is simply impossible to ignore.

Event Coverage: Tires 23 Customer Appreciation BBQ

While I was at Torque Modified, a little closer to home in Mississauga Tires 23 was holding a charity BBQ/show and shine as a show of thanks for the years of support they've received from the community. In addition to free food, the event had speciality trophies, giveaways, raffles, and live music and at the end of the day Tires 23 raised $1,022 for Credit Valley Hospital.

Event Coverage: Eurokracy 2013 – Part. 2

While at Eurokracy I kept telling myself I needed to shoot more photos in order to somewhat accurately portray the scale of the show. When I got home the first thing I asked myself was "why did I take so many photos!?" Funny how that works. Mountain of editing aside the entire Eurokracy 2013 experience was great and I encourage everyone with even the smallest interest in European cars (or low cars in general) to check out one of these events sometime in the future.

Event Coverage: Eurokracy 2013 – Part. 1

After hearing nothing but good things about Eurokracy for two straight years I decided 2013 was the year to make the voyage from Toronto to Montreal to check things out first hand. Being a terrible navigator I opted to join the Scraped Crusaders for their cruise down and as the convoy got larger stop after stop I knew I wouldn't be disappointed in the show the following day.

Guest Coverage: June Jitter Bug 2013

Going to take a quick break from the CSCS Beach Burnout coverage and light up the main stage for June Jitter Bug, a local Volkswagen show that takes place every year at Fireman's Park in Niagara Falls. Like Vanfest June Jitterbug is one of those shows I've wanted attend for a few years but can't swing due to other events or personal commitments. I have however run guest coverage from it before and this years comes from Mark Armstrong a long time reader and local enthusiast.

Theme Tuesdays: Front End Swaps and Conversions

Today is the day I make good on last Friday's promise of some more favourable front end swaps to balance out the more horrendous. Front (and rear for that matter) swaps are always going to be somewhat controversial, and a matter of personal preference, so I have no doubt some of you are not going to agree with a few of these picks. As always feel free to express your opinions, or share ones I may have missed, in the comments below.

Theme Tuesday: New Wheel Companies Part – 2

About three quarters of the way through writing last weeks Theme Tuesday I realized that there was no way to fit all of the companies I wanted into a post of reasonable length. What I didn't realize is how well received that post would be! I was honestly a little worried it would flop, now I might have to look into doing parts 3 and maybe for further down the road.

Theme Tuesday: New Wheel Companies Part – 1

Sometime last year I got into a conversation about "real" wheel companies with a local enthusiast. Normally I try and avoid conversations like this all together but, this time I took the bait and asked the person to list off a few companies he considered real. The standard prerequisites (BBS, Volk, Work, and so forth) were fired off but I was a little shocked that he failed to mention any of the numerous new (or perhaps maturing) wheel companies that have been putting out original designs within the past 5 years or so.

Event Coverage: Mega Speed 2013 – Part 2

Today's portion of coverage from Mega Speed 2013 focuses almost exclusively on the tuner hall which this year was fairly self contained from the rest of the show.  Apparently this was done based on feedback from last year but personally I would have liked to have been a little bit closer to the rest of the action.
