WTF Friday: Double Down

This Miata is the automotive equivalent of the KFC 'Double Down' sandwich. It takes a sound concept (in this case a v8 Miata) and doubles it up into something that isn't very visually appealing and ultimately extremely hazardous to your health. With two Chevy 350s out in the open air and a frame that looks ready to give in on itself safe this probably isn't. But loud, over the top, and obnoxious it certainly is.

Winter Wednesdays: I know a guy

I know a guy who recently acquired a red Miata and is patiently waiting for old man winter to take his leave so he can start putting parts on it. This same guy used to own this Subaru so it should end up being one nice looking car all said and done. The car below doesn't belong to the guy I am talking about but is mighty fine looking all the same.

Guest Blog: Theme Tuesdays: Air Bag Love Pt. 2

One of the most unnecessary arguments in the automotive community, in my opinion, is the static vs air debate. I just don't get it, people should get down how they want to get down and that should be the end of it.

WTF Friday: Bosozoku truck

This is one of two Bosozoku builds to be posted here on Stance Is Everything and really it was only a matter of time before more and more North American interpretations of this Japanese tuning style started popping up. There are a few builds out in California and perhaps couple more in Florida but now Arizona as a boso build to call their own.

Featured Ride: Moneesh’s RX-8

2011 saw a lot of people take extreme measures to build something that stands out in what has become an increasingly competitive scene. In an attempt to separate themselves from the latest internet sensation some arguably took things a little bit too far. Montreal native Moneesh didn't do this, instead of setting out to launch the 'fitment bar' to the moon he upgraded his car with modifications that compliment the RX-8's factory figure letting the final result speak for itself.

Winter Wednesdays: Miata

There still isn't really any snow in the GTA (damn cold though) but Sunday and Monday I was in snowboarding in Barrie and Monday morning we woke up to an incredible amount of fresh show which made conditions awesome. Driving wasn't so great but Lyndsey's Kia Soul fared pretty well (considering it is on all seasons). All of this means that Winter Wednesday is a go for this week even though I see bare pavement outside my window.

Theme Tuesdays: Mazda 3s Part 2

It's been awhile since Mazda 3s have been the subject of a Theme Tuesday. The last one for the naturally aspirated 3s was in September 2009 and the boosted Speed3s last got their time in the spotlight July of 2010. Since then a lot has changed in the land of Mazda 3s. A whole new generation was released with a lot of people jumping ship to the happier generation and those who have stayed with the first gens are pushing the limits in regards to ride height and aggressive fitments.

2011 Event Year In Review: Part 2

Today I'll continue running down the list of events I attended in 2011. Hopefully you enjoyed the look back at the first twelve, there will be thirteen more today to cover all 25 from 2011. I enjoyed all of the events I attended this year but I am always up to check out new ones so if there is a local event that you think I should attend feel free to let me know via the comments or an email.

2011 Event Year In Review: Part 1

What a year 2011 was event wise in Ontario. It seemed like there was something going on at least every other weekend, if not every weekend, often with two events occurring at the same time. While I did my best to make it to most of the major local events (as well as some of the underexposed ones) it was pretty much impossible for me to attend them all, luckily a few people helped me out with great Guest Coverage again this year. This post will be a chronological run through of the first twelve events I attended in 2011.

Lost Coverage: Meeting of the Mazdas 2011

M.O.M is an event that prior to attending I had heard nothing but good things about and with Stance East making the trek from New Brunswick to attend both M.O.M and Importfest I figured 2011 was as good a year as any to attend for the first time. Besides someone had to show Will around. M.O.M. was an extremely laid back, quiet, outdoor, event, the complete opposite of Importfest the day before and exactly what those of us who had been at IF needed (in addition to sleep).

Theme Tuesdays: Vette Wheels

Today's Theme Tuesday is a direct result of a suggestion from the fanpage, if you ever have something you want to see don't be scared to throw out an idea. I usually get started right away so I don't forget. The use of Vette wheels seems to have slowed down some from late 2009 and 2010 but they still mange to show up in some of the darnedest places.

Event Coverage: Squeaky Clean 2011

After successfully running Tuners Against Street Racing for a few years Matthew M (previous feature s2k owner) decided to switch gears a bit and start a new show series called 'Squeaky Clean' aimed towards those with more subtle modifications done to their cars. The first Squeeky Clean show took place two weeks ago at JRP and even though mother nature didn't seem to fond about the idea of Matt having a show that day about 35 or so cars ended up coming out to participate in the event.
