Winter Wednesdays: Winter Saftey

Last night I attended a Winter Driving event at Grand Prix Kartways put on by Canadian Tire. The overall mission of the seminar was how to be prepared for winter driving, in short get winter tires, have a snow brush, top up your fluids, and brake early. While I knew these things already it's great to see that Canadian Tire is trying to educate more people so the chances of getting wrecked in the winter is much less. As a bonus we all got some free laps on the track at GPK, along with some other schwag.

Race Sport

I'm not sure where I got these pictures from, and I know they are not new, but really when it comes to a car with as much heritage and race chops as the 911 Carrera RS looking at one for the 1000th time isn't really bad. Much respect goes out to the owner who showed lots of restraint and didn't go overboard on this car in any regard. Kept things nice and clean.

The Loud Pedal

On the way home last night from hockey at around 12:30am my new skid plate hit the ground hard which knocked it 80% off and resulted in some road side hockey tape mechanics and a very, very, slow drive home to where I removed it for modification at a later date. As a result I am quire tired today and my brain is a mess so I decided to keep things simple: The loud pedal, press it and things get awesome here are 5 examples.

Event Coverage CSCS 2010 Finale – Part 3

Even though this show was just last weekend with the way the weather has changed (and the amount of time it's taken me to post all of the parts) it seems like so long ago. Most of the cars in today's coverage are probably stored away by now or will soon be in winter mode so here is a look at one of the last show and shines of the season.

Event Coverage: A Sunday BBQ

Last Sunday I was invited out to a pub in Markham for a casual gathering of local car enthusiasts. It was great to go from the busy car show atmosphere to a lazy patio venue all in the same weekend and just further proves that no matter how you love your cars the GTA has something for you. The afternoon was a great opportunity for me to meet quite a few people I have interacted with online, in person for and see a lot of their cars first hand outside of the typical show venue.

WTF Friday: Batman Returns

Last year I posted up a couple photos of Batman styled Porsche 944 I saw at the Cruisn' for The Cure car show, and at that point I thought the owner was done with the theme being firmly established. It would appear that I was wrong as the owner continued work on his Porsche by adding a few more details to the mix, most notably the winged flares.

WTF Friday: Medieval Death Sedan?

This has been a crazy week for the Toronto area, the upcoming G8 and G20 summits have turned the downtown core into a media and security frenzy. In close proximity to the summit you have a mix of people who don't care, people who care too much, and police in riot gear all milling around, and as if things were not volatile enough mother nature decided Wednesday would be a great day for an earthquake. The ground shaking must have jarred some things loose in this local nut's brain because he was caught cruising around in Hyundai with a crazy home made container on his roof filled with weapons, details inside.

Theme Tuesdays: Classy Car Models Part 2

Last time I did a 'classy model' Theme Tuesday it went over a lot better than I thought it would. Really I shouldn't have been surprised. Guys like cars, and guys like girls it's natural. But girls also like cars, but they often do not like car show models. What girls do like (generally and in addition to cars) are clothes and style, thus classy car models give the female readers something to enjoy as well. This way everyone wins! Except me, the screening process for this is hell on my eyes 😛

Event Coverage: 2010 Gumball 3000 Toronto

I could have called this 'Event Coverage: Rich People Envy' because after I left Yorkville, where the Gumball cars cruised to in Toronto, I was fairly jealous of what all of the Gumball participants get to do. Driving from city to city in a 'rally' and stopping off at local tracks and party hot spots and having enough money have to care about things going wrong is every automotive enthusiasts dream.

WTF Friday: Porsche Emblem Rims

Today's WTF Friday is a perfect example of what happens when a car owner has a decent chunk of money and no real taste. Yes, I am sure we have all seen examples of this before, but, this one I found particularly alarming since the rest of the car isn't over the top with ugly.

Theme Tuesdays: Camouflage

When I was younger I wanted a camouflage BMX bike really bad, I actually took it as far as reading a tutorial on how to paint your own camouflage. Once I figured out how much labor it would take, and how much it would have cost I painted my bike solid blue. The people with the cars today however have a lot more ambition than myself, or access to someone who can print and wrap automotive vinyl. Either or.

WTF Friday: Cars on truck frames

Awhile back I saw some wild lifted cars on the Outlaw videos site (which was linked to on the cardomain blog) and they amused me so I saved the pictures. I know lifted cars are nothing new but sometimes you have to wonder if they are worth the effort involved. Either way over the past few months I came across these pretty often so I figure WTF Friday was a way better way than Theme Tuesday to share them.
