The beauty of graffiti

I have always loved good graffiti, not crudely draw penises and crappy tags, but large murals full of vibrant color and intricate designs. When I look at these pieces I wonder how much time goes into them and how they evolve. It's probably very similar to building car, some artists go in with an end goal in mind while others just wing it and see where they end up. Maybe this is why cars and murals seem to go together so well, thankfully Toronto has lots of great murals which more often than not they can serve as an awesome backdrop for great looking cars. Which they have done today for a pair of Subarus.

Theme Tuesdays: The Acura RSX

A twitter friend of my @AhmadBrown is a serious RSX nut, one of his more recent tweets that said 'Just got another RSX today. Good thing I'm not married or else my wife would freaking kill me.' tipped the scales in the favor of the RSX/DC5 being the subject of today's Theme Tuesday. The scale didn't need that much of a tip however since I seriously considered getting one of these before I got my Mazda 3. In the end I opted for the Mazda 3 because it could carry more bikes and people at once than the RSX.

Event Coverage: ’10 Maxbimmer Midnight Cruise

Keven and I headed out to the meeting spot for 2010 Maxbimmer midnight cruise on Friday night and while we didn't go on the cruise itself from what I read it went off without incident which is great because a whirly bird was floating above the meeting spot at about 11:30. There is always a great variety of cars at this spot (as it's a meeting spot for other clubs as well) so here are some of the photos I took while Keven got a chance to catch up with some old faces.

WTF Friday: Jet ski fail

Jet ski's are a lot of fun, provided you don't flip them in the middle of the lake and have to get towed by a fishing boat back in to fix it, but getting them to and from the lake can be a bit of a challenge. Getting it out of a lake becomes more of challenge if you don't have a proper trailer to do so. These two guys almost had a method worked out to but then mother nature, gravity, and common sense took over which resulted in a nice little fail.

Purpose built Miatas

As much as I love slammed Miatas today's collection of Mazda roadsters caught my eye because judging by the way these cars are set up it's safe to assume that they do a lot more than hard parking and actually take these cars out to the track. If your building a car to tear up your local track and the ride height you need for that leaves you with some fender gap that's alright by me. Just go fast to make up for it, real fast.

Featured Ride: Sams 350Z

Growing up one common rule among children is that they all have at least one toy car, next time you're around kids take a look around and you'll see at least one happy youngster taking their favorite toy car through its paces in their own little imaginary track. Those of us who grow to become car enthusiasts trade in our toy cars for one we can drive and our imaginary track becomes real world terrain. Sam, the owner of today’s featured ride, is an enthusiast who is no longer doing laps in his mind, these days Sam cruises the streets in his low, flush, 350z fittingly plated ‘JDM Toy’.

Theme Tuesdays: Classy Car Models Part 2

Last time I did a 'classy model' Theme Tuesday it went over a lot better than I thought it would. Really I shouldn't have been surprised. Guys like cars, and guys like girls it's natural. But girls also like cars, but they often do not like car show models. What girls do like (generally and in addition to cars) are clothes and style, thus classy car models give the female readers something to enjoy as well. This way everyone wins! Except me, the screening process for this is hell on my eyes 😛

F20/AE86 and SR20E30 drift builds are complete

The drift/track/fun season is well underway here in the Toronto area, so it only makes sense that both of the local heart transplant builds that I, and you by association, have been following are complete and running around burning up tires. Big props to Drift Posse/Cyrious Productions/Cyrious fab and Union Auto Club for seeing these builds through to the end and getting them running for this season.

WTF Friday: Want a truck? Make your own.

I'm sure we have all seen something like this before, someone takes a car with rear end damage and instead of getting it repaired traditionally (or just scraping the thing) the make some sort of El Camino bastard child. I can't really imagine how you go about getting these things insured since they would probably crumple like a ball of paper in an accident, and I doubt 2 of the 3 posted today go down the street straight, but hey its DIY?

Green 41

Quick post today before we head out to wander around Vegas more and grab our passes from the SEMA media center. I spotted a few black and white photos of this car on RA64 Freddy! and liked what I saw so I went hunting for more and found what I believe to be photos from the original photographer on the cyclone motor gallery.

Muthaf*cka can you buy that?

I saw these wheels for sale on maxbimmer.com and even though at an asking price fo $2300 they are worth what I sold my entire e30 for I really think someone without my shoe string budget should scoop up these refinished RS's because they are absolutely stunning. The specs are as follows:

Theme Tuesdays: Import Powered Hot Rods

I've never really bought into the idea that a car of any type "should" have one particular motor or another. I feel that the...
