Event Coverage: 2010 CSCS Finale- Part 1

Yesterday I mentioned that the 2010 CSCS finale had an absolutely stellar turnout, the best of any CSCS I had attended personally. There were cars everywhere, on the track, in the pits, and all over the visitor parking, it seemed like everyone and there mom was out at Cayuga. Today I have 30 plus photos of what I saw off the track and away from the show and shine, few unique/rarity's here.

Event Coverage: Mosport DMCC Part 1

On Sunday September 19th 2010 I went out to my first Drift Mania Canadian Championship (DMCC) event, which just so happened to be their final East event of the year. I had the long lens on the camera for most of the day which worked a treat for catching the action from the stands, and today's coverage is what I caught in the qualifying rounds.

      Featured Ride: Aidan’s VIP IS300

Cruising through the streets of Yorkville I watch as Aidan carefully navigates his way past potholes and any parts of the road eager to damage his Crimson Inc Linea Sport rims and Version Select body parts. Riding in the plush passenger seat I look past the Junction Produce curtains, and through the dark tints, at the reflection staring back at me and it's at this moment I understand why the VIP style and culture are so appealing.

      Event Coverage: A Sunday BBQ

Last Sunday I was invited out to a pub in Markham for a casual gathering of local car enthusiasts. It was great to go from the busy car show atmosphere to a lazy patio venue all in the same weekend and just further proves that no matter how you love your cars the GTA has something for you. The afternoon was a great opportunity for me to meet quite a few people I have interacted with online, in person for and see a lot of their cars first hand outside of the typical show venue.

Event Coverage: Importfest 2010 Pt. 1

The tenth anniversary of Importfest went down this weekend and it was really one to remember, the show was about the same size as last year but the caliber of cars on the floor seemed to be quite a bit higher. The team entries were off the hook, the stage always had something going on, and the women looked great, not to mention the new best stance award category which I was lucky enough to have a hand in judging. Today's coverage is a little bit of everything so there should be a little something for everyone.

      Event Coverage: Honda Tech 2010

Last year was my first Honda Tech event and I was blown away by the quality of cars that were there. For a long time Honda's were not the cleanest cars around so it was really refreshing to see so many nice ones in one area along with all of the other clean cars that came out. Because of my move the previous day my time at the show was short and sweet and while I didn't show up during it's peak but I was still able to get a lot of shots of the action and, thankfully, the time I showed up it had cooled down slightly as it was a scorcher.

Event Coverage August 22nd CSCS 2010 Pt 1

Sunday August 22nd 2010 was a busy day for the GTA automotive community. Three events took place simultaneously (Vagkraft, Meeting of The Mazdas, and CSCS:Xtreme Tuner Challenege) and depending on your location you were anywhere from damp to soaked as the weather didn't want any of these things to happen. Thankfully in Cayuga at CSCS the weather actually wasn't too bad for most of the day, a little damp at times but for the most part dry and great for photos.

      Featured Photographer: Edwin Tan (Dougboy)

The internet is a great way to kill a lot of time and personally I spend a lot of time browsing automotive blogs and forums. If you are anything like myself you have have recently come across photos of a white Amuse kitted s2000, a red s2000 on gold works, and an Import Expo brandedAcura NSX. If  you look  closely at those photos you will notice that they all share a  similar water mark, and or photo credit: ‘Dougboy 2010‘.

Event Coverage: Nextmod Anniversary Pt 1

Nextmod's one year anniversary BBQ went off without a hitch yesterday, even though the weather threatened like it was going to pour for most of the event. Nextmods customer base speaks to the type of service they provide as the amount of quality cars that rolled through really rivaled some of the full blown car shows this year. Shout out to Peter and the crew for organizing the event and keeping us all fed and hydrated for free!

Event Coverage: Street Classics July 31st

After last weeks Theme Tuesday on muscle cars I was in the mood to check some out in person once again so I made my way out to the local Street Classics cruise in on Saturday Night. Unfortunately soon after I arrived it started to rail lightly which put a quick end to things, but, I was able to fire off some shots and get something for WTF Friday. I also meet a real down to earth s-10 owner in the process, good times.

Geby is doin the damn thing

Just the other day @gebyz hit me up with this picture on twitter. After taking a look at it I quickly remembered that I had actually posted a picture of his car before, an RX-7 as sick as this is not easy to forget. Geby, who hails from the same area of BC as the Drift Union guys, has done a great job putting together one serious looking and performing RX-7.

      Cali Double Bill

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of the caliber of cars California produces. I would guess that a good 80% of the cars I see from California I like, and, today’s two featured e36s are no different. Bryan’s ti and his friend Marc's coupe are perfect examples of my favorite type of automotive styling. Clean and slammed, with just enough of a personal touch to make them unique.
