Message Board Finds

Caught Slippin’

Turns out I need to dust off my Bimmer Forums account because apparently sleeping on that forum has resulted in my missing cars like this unreal Laguna Seca Blue 2002. Good thing Jay at Stance Factory has got my back and forwards along the good great stuff. This 2002 is incredible and perhaps the best use of LSB ever?

WTF Friday: When Air Tanks Explode

There is a build thread I am reading on Stance|Works (one of the better threads of late) that talks about unorthodox tanks for air ride setups. The original posters plan was to run a multiple piece rectangular tank stack and there has been a lot of helpful (key word) discussion about how he should go about doing so safely. Many mentioning the importance of pressure testing the tanks to avoid blow outs like this.

Bounce and Boom

This Mk5 Fiesta is one of is one of the more unique builds I have come across this month and part of this is because we don't get this flavor of Fiesta in North America. However, the rest of the reasons I like this car have nothing to do with this cars availability to me and everything to do with the owners choice in modifications. For example when was the last time you saw a car with hydraulic suspension that didn't have wires?

Skoty Chops

Some of you might remember me posting a photo of this dropped and chopped model A coupe on the fan page a few weeks ago. I had felt like as though I was lacking some classic metal in my life so I took to crawling the H.A.M.B. That Hokey Ass Message Board always delivers the goods and this ride built by Skoty Chops is no exception.

WTF Friday: Good Sir I Think You Have Had Enough

I'm all for one of a kind bodies on top of existing platforms because people have done incredible things with this formula for years. Sadly (in my opinion) this particular example might be the worst thing to happen to the outside of a C3 Corvette since Corvette Summer. This once Vette known as the Scorpion (not to be confused with the Skorpion) is the result of 6 years of work and made up of a combination of fiberglass and hand crafted sheet metal. The craftsmanship seems to be there but the eye for an appealing end result? Not so much.

Theme Tuesdays: Nissan 300zx (z32)

Back in high school (grade 11ish) a classmate picked up a 300zx and my first thoughts were how the hell did he afford that, and how long will it be before he wrecks it. I never did figure out how he got the coin to buy one but I do recall lending a hand replacing the clutch about two weeks after he got the car. Rumor has it not long after that it was wrapped around a pole or hopped a curb, whatever the case I never saw it again.

Theme Tuesdays: Women And Cars Part 2

Time again to do a pretty straight forward Theme Tuesday post, the kind you could find on any other blog. Sorry this is not as creative as some of the previous ones. I'm not even sure you guys will like it.... /sarcasm Warning: Potentially NSFW unless maybe you work at the Brass Rail or just DGAF.

Fat and Flush: S-TI-fighter

From what I have seen Subaru owners that want to run low and wide might have the most uphill battle amongst their peers. A lot of the 'traditional' Subaru owners seem to think that Subarus (specifically STIs) should always be ready for rally conditions that could suddenly pop up in the middle of the highway. The reality is you don't need 4x4 ground clearance to enjoy all wheel drive, but people hate reality.

Alfa.

The Alfa Romeo Brera is one car I can safely say I have never seen before in person before, and one that doesn't pop up often in the forums and blogs I frequent. That is probably a big reason why this car really impressed me when I saw it. Dropped significantly lower than stock and sitting on wheels by seemingly unstoppable wheel company RotiForm this car is certainly going to make it's rounds on the net.

Got Nine Grand?

Looking to pick up a new car and have nine thousand dollars? Then maybe you should give this 97 328is strong consideration because even if it didn't have an Active auto c30 intercooled and water cooled fully rebuilt super charger setup it would be a steal. I've seen this car around a couple of times and it would be a damn shame if it just sat in a garage on fire and theft for the rest of it's days.

WTF Friday: Misguided Talent?

I'll admit I have been going back and forth about whether or not I should do a post about this person/shop as when I first saw the cars produced therein I initially assumed it was just another bondo workshop. However after clicking through to the shops car domain page I was quite impressed at the work that lay underneath. While the final products are not be something I would drive I am very impressed at the workmanship behind all of these builds.

Always been a fan of this one

I've seen this car at a few local events and it has always stood out to me as being one of those cars that just looks "right". The owner isn't trying to push any boundaries when it comes to ride height, camber, or fitment and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Stance isn't all about specs and shock value, execution and final product play a big part and this car has been executed beautifully.
