While I’ve only seen a handful of modified Volvo C30s, and I have not explored their aftermarket crowd extensively, I feel safe in saying that this one is near the top of my list of favorites and will be for some time.
It’s very clean, wears a nice set of wheels and it sits with a awesome raked stance that works great with the lines of the car.
What more can I say? I’ve got love for hatchbacks.
It also doesn’t hurt that the photos are awesome.
The rake on this car is via KW Variant 1'sI suppose the wheels could be spaced out a tad if you wanted to split hairsOften 19s can look really big but these BBS CK's don'tThe rear of these cars is really where people tend to either love or hate them
Sigh, I don’t know what it is about some drivers in this weather (snowed today) but I swear they forget which pedal makes the car go and ride the brake all the way to work. If you don’t feel safe on all seasons when it snows get winter tires sheesh.
Sorry had to vent a little there, spent some time this morning dodging vehicular pylons. The good news is the snow gives me a reason to post this awesome bagged 68(?) Caddy in the snow.
Now that's a plow.Man this beast is in great shapeWish I rolled this hard in the winter.
Pretty sure I spotted this bad boy over on s10forum.com
Question: What’s small, nimble, a little bigger than a go kart, loved the world over, and can run on motors borrowed from two wheel vehicles as well as four wheel vehicles? Classic Mini’s of course!
I don’t post a whole lot of Mini’s around here so a Mini Theme Tuesday has been long over due. However, before I get to posting more of the current generation I’ve got to give a head nod to the ones that started it all.
A little rough around the edges but it's got potential.CF flares 🙂This Mini is a little larger than the mostAnd it holds many secretsLike being AWD for example. This one is b16 powered awd, and looks like it means businessMost flip up front ends I have seen flip down, this is way much more practicalMini's have some of the best looking fender flaresI had no idea Mini trucks were around, until I was brought up to speed by OllieOut for a bootI wonder if mini's can actually run go kart tires, it looks like the almost could lolAnother b16 beast with great stanceHonda powered Wolseley HornetAnother truck convert, this time Honda poweredPart of me wants to see one of these Mini trucks laying sparksThe other part of me enjoys them as they areBuilt for one purpose.......Going FAST
This weeks Theme Tuesday was powered by Ollie and his vast photo collection and sizable Mini knowledge.
Thanks to him if I ever come into lots of money a Honda powered Mini will be in my stable along with lots of other hybrid cars…
Here’s a quick before work, pre-Theme Tuesday post to get your day headed in the right direction. Nothing too fancy with this LS400 just another clean, black, dumped, dished Lexus.
The more I look at it the more I like it, the factory two tone is working surprisingly well and the chrome trim around the wheels works well with the wheels.
Wheels which someone obviously spent some time researching specs because they fit perfectly in the wells.
Bagged? Perhaps but that doesn’t make it any less sick.
Rear fitment, speechless.Nice plate.
Can’t remember where I picked these up but it’s got me thinking I should do a future Theme Tuesday on the LS400, what do you think?
This isn’t the first time I have posted photos from today’s featured photographer. Nor is it the second or third time, truth be told a formal feature of the work done by Mike McConnell has been long over due.
Known as ‘Mikejoe’ in the Volkswagen scene, where he developed a love for low Beatles and Rabbits, Mr. McConnell’s initial photographic focus was German automobiles but since then his horizons have broadened to the point where he needed to move from Ontario to Calgary to swap cityscape for landscape.
The reason Mike moved out to Calgary, the breath taking scenery
Mike is a Canon shooter who currently uses the popular, reliable, and versatile 50d, and his camera bag is multiple lenses deep with glass ranging from 10mm to 300mm.
An 80s Audi GT Mike shot while working as a VW/Audi tech
On location Mike likes to make his photos more dynamic with creative use of his auxiliary battery pack and strobes.
As a VW guy Mike had access to lots of great cars to shoot
Once the harsh Calgary winter passes Mike plans to shoot as much as he can in Calgary including their thriving car scene.
Since Mike’s flickr account is already full of lots of fantastic shots I really can’t wait to see what he can accomplish in his new location for 2011.
The perfect backdrop for a photo of an FJ
Of course I will have no problem coming across Mike’s work this year because he has graciously offered to share some of his automotive work in 2011 here on Stance Is Everything as a contributing photographer.
Brick boardwalks always make for awesome photosEasily a catalog quality shot of this AudiSand in the eyes!Uh… maybe Mike can explain this one 😛This shot is just beautifulQuick shot of Mike’s old bagged ’71 Super Beetle for good measure

When it comes to motor swaps I’m not a purist in the slightest. I’ve said time, and time, again if a motor from another manufacturer is cheaper, faster, and more reliable than the one that came with your car and it’s financially feasible to swap in then swap it in.
That being said I had absolutely no idea people put small block Chevy motors in Porsche 911s so when I saw this ’75 Porsche 911 with a Chevy small block in it on Night-Import I did a double take.
Well as much of a double take that’s possible when viewing a car on a laptop.
Well damn, fits well
After doing some searching last night I’ve found out that this swap has been performed by a few people and you can actually buy a kit from Renegade Hybrids (fitting name) to ease the dropping in of Chevy grunt.
I'm not sure how the weight distribution is now but the overall weight remains similar Front end of the same car via cardomainLooks pretty sorted
After doing a little poking around I was able to find some specs on this particular hybrid:
Steel slant nose and turbo body
400hp Small Block Chevy
Electronic port fuel injection by Edelbrock
Porsche 930 transaxle & brakes
Ron Davis radiator & Meziere 55 GPM remote mount electric water pump
9 and 11 inch Fuchs – 3 Piece (Fuch centers & BBS halves)
345 tires on the rear
Fresh suspension and corner balance
Weighs 2600 lbs (Porsche 930 had a claimed weight of 2635 lbs)
No smog check required in California (1975 and older are exempt)
Current California registration
Looks like a Porsche, sounds like a healthy muscle car
When I was deciding what to post for Friday I considered the obvious, BBS going bankrupt for a second time, but decided I didn’t really want to open up the can of worms discussion on whether or not it replicas lead to the current financial situation of a company we love so much.
So, I decided to post something I found on There I fixed it instead that is mind boggling that it even works. Maybe next time you get a flat on a road trip you can try this method before getting the spare out of the trunk, then again maybe not.
Gotta give this guy some credit, it’s a very creative solution.
Site Updates
I mentioned it earlier this week but I’ll do it again, the store is updated and now has new products and inventory tracking so go check it out so you can throw a ‘Mr. Plow’ sticker on your lip this winter.
Also in regards to stickers if you ever have any questions regarding your order don’t hesitate to email me.
I’m pretty sure this Datsun 510 hunted me down and found me because I wasn’t even on a content hunt when I found it. I was just minding my own business, on my laptop, one lazy Sunday afternoon when it leapt of the screen at me.
Even though I wasn’t looking for it I am glad I found it as it’s jumped to upper rankings of my favorite 510s ever built list. SR20 powered, on Works, clean body, and a drive height that looks good and allows it to be driven hard and stay clean? Yeah, I’m a fan.
I have no specs (I know, I know) but like I said this car was posted randomly with no link back and the Fortune Auto site is loading excruciatingly slow for me right now so these pictures will have to do.
Color fits the Blue Bird NameNice front mount placement behind the grill there, retains an oem look to the front endFor whatever reason I really like the hint of heat scorching on the bumper...Enough clearance to avoid contact during high speed maneuversAnd there it is folksEverything is cleanIncluding the interiorI really like every part of 510sI'll end it with this
It’s funny how in most cases, regardless of the manufacturer, older cars look cooler than the newer ones. The Toyota Crown is no exception. Later models don’t look particularly bad but they lack the uniqueness and character of their older first, second, and third generation siblings.
This Crown Deluxe doesn’t have much done to it visually other than a significant drop but it’s styling is reminiscent of some of the I posted not to long ago, and as we’ve seen before sometimes less is more.
This could easily be mistaken for an older American carDiggin' the rear window shutters
I upgraded the Stance Is Everything official store this morning so that I could sell more than 5 products and monitor my inventory better. The previous way of monitoring (me) was proving in effective as sales increased.
The need for more products comes because I’ve made Mr. Plow & Plow King stickers for the winter months. For now they are produced myself on matte white and matte black vinyl however I will get SecheMedia to do a multiple color run if the demand calls for it.
Hopefully you guys get the obvious Simpsons influence in these stickers, yes I am a big fan.
Mr. Plow is a loser and I think he is a boozerThis sticker is 7 inches wide .5inches tallBarney you stole my idea! They are: 3.75 inches wide and 5 inches high
Right now there are only three of each so if you want the first batch act fast. I will be printing up some more this weekend if they sell out.
If you would like to see more colors let me know in the comments, thanks for the support guys.
