Epic Save

I found this build on JDM rides and 'Epic Save' were the first two words to come to my mind. This car started out as one of the worst looking Civics I have ever seen but the owner snatched the car from the moronic hands of the previous owner, put in some elbow grease and turned it into a nice, clean, de riced ride.

Theme Tuesdays: Muscle

I'm in a gas wasting, deafening exhaust, bend the ground with torque type of mood today and the only cure for that is a lot of pictures of Muscle cars. Hope you don't mind.

Mini Of Epic Proportions

I really can't remember where or when I came across this car, maybe on one of the several message boards and blog I check out daily. Regardless of where I found it, it obviously had a good reason to be there as it's pretty damn appealing. The raked stance, wide track, copious amounts of tire, flares, and lack of non essentially accessories leads me to believe that this Mini functions just as well as it looks.

Cali Double Bill

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of the caliber of cars California produces. I would guess that a good 80% of the cars I see from California I like, and, today’s two featured e36s are no different. Bryan’s ti and his friend Marc's coupe are perfect examples of my favorite type of automotive styling. Clean and slammed, with just enough of a personal touch to make them unique.

WTF Friday: Why Did you turn!

I had a few other things in mind to post today and those will have to wait until next week because as soon as I saw this video I busted up laughing. This is what happens when a few guys and one girl try and load a Civic EG on the back of a U-haul using dodgy ass ramps.

Event Coverage: The Women Of Scrape

Well, time for the last part of the event coverage from Scrape By The Lake. Depending on how you look at it I saved the best for last, if girls and cars are going to be at the same venue I prefer them to be separate from the cars so one does not distract from the other. Warning: If your place of work monitors what you view you might want to wait until you get home to view this post, you've been warned. 🙂 Sorry in advance to the female readers.

Event Coverage: Scrape By The Lake Part 3

The third and final part of the automotive coverage from Scrape By The Lake are the type of cars you would expect at your average car show. Actually if you think about it this section was the size or a normal car show making Scrape kind of like three car shows in one... Anyway, quite a few unique rides here as well.

Event Coverage: Scrape By The Lake 2010 Part 2

Part 2 of the multi-part Scrape By The Lake coverage is all about the trucks. I was really impressed at the trucks that came out this year and last year. The trucks I saw last year had new mods and the new trucks I saw this year were crazy. If you like your trucks low this post is for you.

Event Coverage: Scrape By The Lake 2010 Part 1

Last year I went to Scrape By The Lake for the first time and had a blast. Scrape is one of the most unique car shows in all of Ontario and while it's mainly a low rider show there are classes and cars for everyone's tastes. This year they invited me back with media pass based on my coverage from last year which I was able to get inside the hop pit and get close to the action. Part 1 of the coverage contains pictures of the traditional Low Lows and bikes along with the hop contest photos.

WTF Friday: When Air Tanks Explode

There is a build thread I am reading on Stance|Works (one of the better threads of late) that talks about unorthodox tanks for air ride setups. The original posters plan was to run a multiple piece rectangular tank stack and there has been a lot of helpful (key word) discussion about how he should go about doing so safely. Many mentioning the importance of pressure testing the tanks to avoid blow outs like this.

Another e30 changes hands

Remember that dished out m-tech e30 that Sam and myself took pictures of at the 2009 maxbimmer.com autumn e30 meet? You know it was silver, dumped, m30 powered and also got posted on hella flush? Of course you remember it how could you forget? Well it's been sold.

Winter Wednesdays: Harley in the snow

Some of the long time readers, or those of you who have looked through the Theme Tuesday archives, may have noticed I have a bit of an attraction to VW Harlequins. I like these cars because you don't see them often and when you do they can't be missed. Seeing one thats winter driven never crossed my mind until I saw rabriolet of vortex not given a damn and pushing his through significant accumulation.

The Printed Form: The Jalopy Journal

It's no secret that I am currently more immersed hot rod culture than I was when I started this website. I've always enjoyed hot...

WTF Friday: 5.0 Twin Turbo Miata

Wow, it's been a long time since the last WTF Friday post. A drought as long as this one isn't something I plan on repeating....
