Theme Tuesdays: Mazda Speed 3s

I've been hanging around more Mazda 3 forums lately whoring out my new drop and letting people know how they can get it and while doing so I have been looking at a lot of Speed 3s', because I want one, bad. A few right click save as later we have today's Theme Tuesday.

Guest Event Coverage: Stretch & Poke II

This past Sunday Stretch & Poke hosted their second event, 'Hard Parked' at Humber Bay Park East in Toronto. The turnout for this event was smaller than the last but the cars that did show up were of top notch quality and sometimes a smaller group is better than a larger group when you are hanging out on a Sunday afternoon. While I was unable to attend Mike Branco, (the Division R member with the Mazda RX-8 on works) did and was kind enough to give me permission to reproduce his photos here, so without further adieu here is 'Hard Parked' through the lens of Mike.

Worked 905 gettin busy

Remember the J-32 powered, Worked 905, Honda Civic I posted in the 'Unique Local Motor Swaps' Theme Tuesday? The same one I saw at Honda-Tech 6 and Vagkraft last year and the same one that was featured on The Chronicles and in the pages of Honda Tuning? If none of this rings a bell click here for quick reminder.

WTF Friday: More 4th Gen Camaro Abuse

Making one car look like another is fairly hard (unless you start with a Fiero) so I am not sure why companies keep presumably mass marketing kits to do so, furthermore I'm really perplexed as to why the figured to manufacture these kits for 4th Gen Camaros. Perhaps because this gen of Camaro was kinda meh? Regardless I don't think any deserve to end up a little confused like this one.

My new drop

If you've been following along with my Friday site/personal updates, or on twitter, will have known that I recently made the switch from my Eibach Sportline/Koni Yellow combo to BC Racing BR type coil overs. After the initial install, while the ride quality was vastly improved, I was shocked to learn that my new coil overs actually sat higher than my previous setup at their lowest setting. Not cool. So it was time to consider my options.

Matt’s Low Matrix

Division R has been making a lot of moves here on Stance Is Everything lately and today brings another member from their crew, Matt, with his dumped Toyota Matrix. Spotting a well done Matrix in the GTA is on par with spotting a unicorn as a lot of them end up in the hands of people who either rice them out or wait for them to die as daily drivers. Thankfully Matt saved his from both fates and has put his 'trix to work skimming the top of speed bumps all over the GTA.

Event Preview: Stretch & Poke II: Hard Parked

I've been totally sleeping on posting this event, I swear I need a secretary, anyway Strech & Poke the crew behind Stretch & Poke 1 is putting on another event this Saturday at Humber Bay Park East starting at 10 am. If the last event was any indication of the caliber of cars that are going to be at this one it is defiantly worth checking out if you are in the area. Furthermore David at S&P has also hooked up with JDM Ego and Fatlace for this and will have some exclusive stickers. Further details inside.

Theme Tuesdays: CCW Wheels

CCW is one of a few custom wheel manufacturers who have really been making an impact on the internet lately and it's no surprise since they make gorgeous looking wheels to essentially. Their classics and LM20 models are their most popular it would see but I have yet to see a set of wheels from them I didn't like. After seeing two set's on the weekend at Tuners Against Street Racing I figured an appropriately themed Tuesday was in order.

Event Coverage: T.A.S.R 2010

On Sunday July 11th I attended the charity Tuners Against Street Racing show and shine for the third year in a row. This year to switch things up a bit I entered with Team JH instead of Team Toronto Mazda 3 and we were able to take home best team award which was pretty cool. Like previous years the event went off fairly well considering mother nature decided to cool us down in the middle of the day with a quick thunderstorm. I got to catch up and shoot the breeze with a bunch of old/new friends which is pretty much all I ask for from an event.

Purpose built Miatas

As much as I love slammed Miatas today's collection of Mazda roadsters caught my eye because judging by the way these cars are set up it's safe to assume that they do a lot more than hard parking and actually take these cars out to the track. If your building a car to tear up your local track and the ride height you need for that leaves you with some fender gap that's alright by me. Just go fast to make up for it, real fast.

Theme Tuesdays: BMW E9X

It's been awhile since I have done a Theme Tuesday on a late model car. This one in particular I've been working on and off for at least a year. Most of that time was spent with me pondering whether or not I really liked this chassis. Visually I think I do however if I were to get something for a performance aspect I would probably go older. This might have to do with the fact that I couldn't afford to own and mod an e90/e92.

WTF Friday: Off Road In Style

It's been said anything worth doing is worth doing in style and clearly that was the approach used when this Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was conceived and built. After finishing it's first (and only) Baja race in 1984 the RR sat for 17 years before retried (and reported late) stunt man Chuck Strange scooped it up.
