Subaru

If you were at Importfest this year you will probably recognize this car as it was sitting with the rest of the Nine O Five Rides team. As much as I want Tyler to keep this car because I think he's done an exceptional job with it so far I know that if he is selling it means that something a little crazier is just around the bend. Since Tyler took possession of the car it has received a lot of love and car so hopefully posting it here will ensure that the new owner treats it just as well.

Nextmod decided to be patient this year and hold their BBQ a little later than they had previous years. This patience was rewarded with a stellar turnout (as always) with the quality and quantity of cars coming out rivalling a lot of the local parking lot shows in the area. Everyone knows these BBQs are a good time because what can really go wrong when you've got great weather, great cars and free food?

I mentioned last week that Sunday September 11th was a busy day to be a car enthusiast here in Toronto. Conveniently the two events were close enough (about thirty minutes apart) that you didn't really have to make a choice between the two if you were only a spectator like myself. The first event I attended (and returned to) was the Battleground Show N' Shine put on by Battleground Performance and Division R.

Last night after sitting down at the computer post a relaxing long weekend I realized that I was at the now familiar point where I have a few Theme Tuesday ideas started (around 6-8 photos) but not too many at, or near enough to, the point of completion. Thankfully I've had this one waiting in my draft status for a bit and six plus months since the last 'Pictures With Attitude' (aka awesome photos) it was time for this draft to grow up and become a real post. Is there such thing as a car show hangover? If so that is what I have after this years Importfest Toronto. This has always been a show that people look forward too but I felt as though this year people were anticipating it even more than usual. I think the increased amount of anticipation was due to the hard work the Ifest team put in beforehand promoting the show online and at events, as well as the announcement of several 'feature' cars coming to the show from both within the GTA area and abroad.

After two back to back events with flawless weather the skies turned a troubling gray for Sundays round three CSCS festivities, Of course CSCS attendees are used to mother nature pulling these shenanigans and made the trek out to Toronto Motorsports Park anyway. Personally I had my doubts in the morning but thankfully as soon as I arrived the worst of the weather seemed to have pass which meant there was a lot for me to check out and shoot all day at TMP.

Normally the features on this site are written in more of a magazine style tone and not the same personal tone the rest of the posts are written in, however in regards to this car and it's owner I felt a more personal approach was justified. In the short time I have known Tim (the owner and builder of today's Subaru) I have come to learn a few things about him. He's a talented do it yourself mechanic, a Batman fanatic, a proud father, and one heck of a nice guy.

I'm not sure what kind of deal with the devil Chris and the organizers of CSCS made between last season and this in regards to weather but we are now two events deep in the CSCS calendar and the weather has been outstanding. Actually outstanding isn't an accurate description of the weather on Sunday, dehydrating might be better, or perhaps sun burn inducing, or maybe even heat stroke administering. You get the idea it was damn hot.

When it comes to low Subaru's I feel that Impreza (wrx/sti) steal the spotlight quite a bit, which isn't really a bad thing because a lot of them are well done, however most of Subaru's models are capable of looking great with a drop and the right set of wheels ( actually plenty look good lifted with meaty tires as well but that would be for a different themed site). I've had a couple of these Legacys kicking around for awhile and last night I decided to gather a few more so that I could post them all up at once.

People who build sleepers have to be some of the most creative and dedicated car people period. The dedication it takes to do something ridiculous to your car but keep it as stock looking as possible so as not to give away your secret is nothing short of incredible. Sleeper builds are always creative, interesting, and motivating. Motivating because after seeing the fabrication skills someone went through to get their idea to work it makes doing simple bolt-ons seem like nothing worth complaining about.

Being a car enthusiast and working at a tuning shop is akin to being a kid at a candy store, all of the resources you could possibly want to put together an incredible car is right at your fingertips waiting for you every day. Kevin, an employee at Nextmod, put all of these resources to work when he decided it was time to take his 2010 STI from mild to absolutely wild.

About a month ago now Jesse from Air Society and myself began discussing collaboration ideas for both of our Canadian based stance sites. While we continue to work out some of the final details of our future plans he sent over some coverage from 'Eurokracy' taken by Fuel Riders. Eurokracy was Air Society's first show and it brought out a number of quality cars from Vermont, Strasse, NY, as well as a few people from Toronto including Scraped Crusaders .
