After spending a lot of time yesterday working on the Turbo Dodge, turned compact American car Theme Tuesday and not really getting anywhere (but reading a lot of interesting threads about why aggressive fitment is the devil) I decided to take a break and bounce around some forums and blogs.
Doing this I found out that one of my favorite e46s is being parted out and sold, so I set out to find a new favorite, along the way I encountered the ones below plus many more for a follow up down the road.
These first six or so I have had for a bitClean example from one of Night Imports many event coverage setsLocal car, though I have not seen or heard of it in awhileAbout time I posted it thoughThis cars been through tons of wheelsSunday drive steezBlue on white seems to be somewhat of a reoccurring theme with e46sThis car looks completely different this year, I still dig last years look thoughTwo for one imageI have always sort of liked Boser hoods on e46s sometimes I feel like I am a minority with that thoughProbably should have saved this for a convertible Theme TuesBlack suit, gold cuff linksDamn. Now I have the Cruisn' USA game music stuck in my head, not really this cars faultNot a care in the worldTourings are going to get their own post soon, but here is a taste...
Stretch and Poke‘s second official meet of the 2011 season was on Sunday and it brought out all of the usual suspects (Scraped Crusaders, StreetClass, Dorimoto and more) as well as some of the people behind the upcoming ImportExpo.
Dave and his ever growing crew are working pretty hard this year to raise the bar in regards to meets in the Toronto area and so far so good as they were able to pull a decent crowd even for Fathers day.
These meets have been a great way for me to meet a lot of the fans of the site for the first time so I spent a lot of time Sunday networking instead of snapping photos of every car that was on hand so sorry in advance if I missed yours.
However I was able to get shots of a few cars without lots of people and other random whatever in the background which is a nice trade off.
Dorimoto
I was talking some pics of an Evo when it got really loud turn around and there were those Dorimoto boys.
First time I have seen Jesse's car since last year at CSCSLiam's car is loud.
Infiniti
While there were a number of Infinit’s on hand when I got home this was the only one I had pictures of, kind of makes sense though because it’s a personal favorite of mine.
I do not see if often but whenever I do it is looking cleanNice touch with the badging
Dodge
Talk about your different platforms to work on. When was the last time you saw someone mod a Plymouth Breeze? Personally I love to see people take on the tough platforms.
Curious about the mechanics around this car, might have to recheck the build on Stance WorksI think a lip spoiler instead of a wing would do wonders
Lexus
Took some snaps of IS300s and a GS that I didn’t see last time.
I love the gold on these wheels, actually hell I just love those wheels. The car is nice as wellPeople have spotted this car lurking about in down town TODue to those super green wheels it's not all that hard to spotBallin GS
Mazdas
Mike Branco's clean RX-8, he was snapping photos of the event as wellThe owner of this car doesn't know how to act and is going to hit someone soonI think this was the first time I had seen this particular FD, I like the look it's gotSuper nice first gen RX-7I met the guy who was originally going to by my wheels Sunday, sorry I snaked them 😛
Honda
I've liked this exactly look since the end of high schoolEdwin (Dougboy) brought his car out this timeCivic on ATS cupsRolled in with this guy, his car looks great rollingAdam bought Danio's TEs and they look outstanding on his car Met the owner of this car, nice guy, sick carEven with the over fenders he had to do a decent amount of work to get these to fitCars been through a number of changes, going to see about getting more info on those...
The second and final batch of photos should be up in no time…
Flats suck. I’ve never get one on a day where I wasn’t going to something important. Another thing that sucks about flats is having to run the super tiny spare (unless you are lucky enough to have full size) until you can get it fixed.
Well to make the slow drive on a spare a little more bearable a cleaver Long Islander has made up a spare of extra BBS RS parts. Now if you get a flat you can roll in style and clear your big brake kit.
I know some of you probably would have rather seen these lips and faces put to better use but you have to admire his creativity.
Much better looking than a boring factory space saverTire sizing is 125/90/16 Curious not only to what the wheel in the background is, but where it is going to end up...
The biggest news? I am looking into getting an initial run of 25-30 shirts made. I posted this on the facebook page last night but if you could let me know which of the following three color combination you prefer and what sizing you would like to see let me know.
Teal on whiteTeal on grayTeal on black
After the initial run I should be able to switch the shirt colors up no problem it’s just the initial screen cost that keeps me limited to one shirt color so far.
Event wise I will be at the second Stretch and Poke Event of 2011 on Sunday. Doesn’t seem like it was all that long since the last…
Flashback Friday
Is Voice Coil Meltdown happening this year? All this Division R stuff reminded me of it. It’s super close to my house too… Here is last years coverage
Traditionally I only post in the WTF Friday category or Fridays, however I will make an exception when Steve Wharton at E11even: 11 is involved and leaves gems like these on my facebook wall on a Thursday night.
These photos of Division R Sam’s previously featured, and recently transformed 350z, were shot a few days ago at a Niagara region airfield which happens to be home to a few lovely planes including a hand polished Lockheed.
The photos are predictably phenomenal and really showcase the work Sam has put into his car this year. Additionally these photos showcase the various types of photo editing techniques Steve is capable of applying to any photo shoot (your next one perhaps? :))
Perfectly composed car and photo. These photos do this car the justice I have not been able to seeing it at showsSam's got a real cohesive look this year with the black and goldWork should holler at Steve for promotional photos...I am pretty sure Steve has a black book of photo shoot locationsSimply a great shotIf you ask me this is cover materialThis shot really shows off the camber out back of that ZShudder to think how long it takes to polish a planeNot your traditional car shot by any means which makes it my favorite of the set
When fitting a car well patience is key as it is what can separate a dialed setup from one that is constantly destroying your fenders and tires. Unfortunately it seems that lately a lot of people are rushing into more aggressive setups which can hurt the over all look of a car, especially one that is meant to look clean.
That’s not the case with this Subaru, the owner carefully planned everything he wanted to do to change his 2010 setup.
The game plan was pretty simple restore a set of staggered BBS Super RS wheels back to their prime, select tires that would keep is all wheel drive running gear happy, and find coils that would place his car where it needed to be.
This simple plan speaks volumes of how little it takes to make a car look exceptional.
There is simply no denying that this car came together very nicelyThe wheels, the height, the color, all work together so wellThe fitment is great, it looks like these wheels were meant to be thereCan't wait to see more of this car
The level of cars coming from Toronto this year just keeps getting better and better.
Maybe I am just paying more attention now but it seems in the past few years people have been giving BMW 2002s more love here in the GTA, which is great because it means less are crumbling to dust in the yards of stubborn elderly people or being crushed in wrecking yards.
Both of these have been done up in a tasteful fashion that suits the vintage look of the 2002. The second one was mentioned in the Stance Factory post from a few weeks back but the first one may be new to you.
This first one is on trimmed IE springs and Work EquipsThese wheels suit the car very well in my opinionWork really nailed this design which looks great on older vehicles and a few newer onesThis one probably looks familarThe black and new lower front really changes the lookNice tire flushnessMake sure to view this entire set, the head unit in this car is so sick
Keeping my current Soarer addiction going one post longer (sorry if you don’t like them something different tomorrow) here is a full post dedicated to them. Thanks to reader Magic for sending in a lot of the photos that got this party started.
With his help (and a few Club Lexus threads) I have got enough of these cars to span multiple Tuesdays.
But before I get ahead of myself lets start with one and see how it goes.
From the dudes at CanibeatWell, damn. This looks spotlessCurious how that exhaust soundsA welcome change to how most are doneAlex is a local, and a reader, and doing some changes to this soonPretty sure those fronts are RPF-1s... if so my obsession continuesNothing over the top here just one hell of a well put together carI've come across this one before, probably one of my favorites.Nicely done. I respect people who can make champagne look goodAnother one that is simply cleanThought about keeping this for for the next rolling shot Theme Tuesday but didn't...Is there anything industrial gray doesn't work well on? This color combo and stance are on point
Two Saturdays ago (I was at the Fleetwood Cruize in) the 2nd anniversary of the first post I ever made for Stance Is Everything came and went. Now over 700 posts deep I am completely amazed at the growth this site/blog has gone through in that time.
Writing, shooting, and gathering content for the past two years has lead to new friends, new experiences, and a passion for cars that grows larger by the day and it’s really humbling how many of you read, and actively interact with the content via comments, emails and the facebook fan page.
A big shout out and thanks go to everyone who reads, all of the contributors, sponsors, anyone who has helped me with my car, and especially anyone willing to rep one of my stickers on their car.
I still can't believe how popular the site is in the Philippines!
The fact that readership continues to grow daily regardless of the amount of other stance blogs that have popped is incredible and I think what separates this blog most from similar blogs (aside from the goof behind it) are the people who contribute and interact.
I love the fact that I can post classics, euros, kit cars, muscle cars, and imports in the same week and never have to worry about the negative backlash I see in the comments (peanut galleries) of other blogs.
To be honest I think one of the biggest contributing factors to the toxicity of commenters on other blogs is that some writers come off as elitists for one reason or another and I can assure you that will never happen to me.
I think your ego should never be larger than your wheel gap and thanks to all of you mine keeps getting smaller.
You probably remember the photo shoot I posted not all that long ago of a very, very, clean 240sx that had a Soarer hiding in the shadows.
Well the twoLITREmedia facebook page alerted me that Emilio recently finished up a full photo shoot of that car and in typical twoLITRE fashion the photos came out awesome and are worth checking out.
Clean car, clean stance, clean photos, anything else you could ask for?
Well the keys I guess 😛
As much as I like the lighting in this shot...I think I like the lighting in this even moreI've liked this car since I saw it at DMCC last year, very cleanProps to the owner for knowing when to say when with this carMore engine bay shots to be found in the full set
I’ll be honest with you I had a completely different set of WTF Friday photos to post today and I wasn’t planning on doing a guessing game for a few weeks but that all went out the door when I saw this creation Sic Ryde spotted on one of his many missions through the the streets of Ontario.
If you can correctly identify and prove what the heck this truck started as then I will send you an equally mysterious sticker pack made up of Stance Is Everything stickers and stickers from sponsors and friends.
Bragging rights go to whoever can identify where this car also took a number of parts from.
Looks like a Dodge Avenger mixed up in there, and Ford Focus vents?I won't even begin to speculate where the rear came fromAh Testerossa style sides..

Site Updates
Taking a break from covering car shows this weekend, I’m sure there are some going on but tomorrow I get to spend the day waiting around for the satellite guy (probably catch up on some work I need to do in the garage) and Sunday we (by we I mean Lyndsey) is doing a photo shoot of one of my favorite Subarus.
The Relay For Life Fundraiser is going well, last I checked we just broke the $100 milestone which is awesome! For those of you who have yet to purchase the event is next Friday so there is still lots of time to get your donation in. If you would like to support a good cause and get a sticker please head over to the ‘Relay For Life Fundraiser‘ section of the store.
While you are at the store also check out the 2.0 version of the classic ‘I like em dropped’ sticker which is now available, a bit more expensive than the previous version because I have to use large sized envelopes.
Flashback Friday
I was thinking about this Boso box the other day, does anyone know what happened to it? Is it still around?
