Featured Photographer: Johnny O

For as long as I can remember I've wanted to build a proper mini truck so throughout high school I spent countless hours thumbing through the latest issues of Mini Truckin' and Sport Truck magazines. Chances are pretty good that at some point in my search for slammed truck inspiration I was looking at photos taken by today's very talented and several times published featured photographer, Johnny O.

WTF Friday: Jeepers Creepers

Since last weeks WTF Friday was a little wordy (that guy is blaming tweet-deck ) and I'm going to assume you have all seen the Lamborghini destruction already I've decided for today I am just going to post two hilarious jeeps and one hilarious Hummer. Well, at least I think they are pretty hilarious, though I've had a long week...

Event Coverage: Performance World 2011: Pt. 2

Here is the rest of the Performance World coverage I was hoping to have up yesterday before the day spiraled wildly out of control. There are enough pictures in this post to warrant two but I decided to just get them all up at once instead of having you guys wait even longer. The mini trucks and classics make up most of today's post with a few random images dropped in. If you thought Performance World this year was lacking that just means you didn't spend enough time in the vast section of classics.

Raw

I had every intention of finishing off the rest of the Performance World coverage today and then work just kicked the living crap out of me and is continuing to do so. Good thing I had this gem tucked away. I first saw this eg on eyegasmic cars and immediately popped the watermark into google to find more photos. After a bit of clicking I found the source (flickr.com/oncam) and more photos of the car.

Theme Tuesdays: Rat Rods of PW 2011

Since I'm sitting on a bunch of photos from Performance World (about 50 left not including today) I figured using them instead of internet finds for today's Theme Tuesday wouldn't be a bad idea because it's rare I have original content for Tuesdays. These are most of the rats from Performance World, some are perhaps not exactly rats but were in and amongst the rat rods so I included them anyway.

Event Coverage: Performance World 2011: Pt. 1

After reading other sites with weather envy all winter it felt pretty good to head out to a local event and get some photos this weekend. A lot of people have said that PW wasn't as good this year in regards to turn out but I think for a show at the end of winter the turnout was pretty good. It takes a lot of dedication to get your car all cleaned up for three days and then drive it back out in the muck right after. This year I've decided to switch things up a bit by posting the more modern Imports, Euros, and American cars first leaving the rat rods, traditional rods, and muscle cars to later.

Event Preview: SGR’s Advanced Driver Training

Sometime last year I made the decision that 2011 would be the year I do two things. One rock an aggressive fitment wheel setup on my car daily and two actually learn to drive my car better on a more functional wheel and tire setup via driving schools, auto cross events, and lapping days. As you probably already know the first is well under way, and on March 27th I will be taking the first step in the right direction of the second goal by attending Sweetie Girl Racings Advanced Driver Training clinic at the Toronto Motorsport Park, Cayuga.

WTF Friday: Chrysler Overreacts?

Since Jalopnik has over 50 thousand fans on facebook and over 18 thousand followers on twitter I am going to assume some of you may have already heard a little about this story but I feel the need to talk about it anyway. Two days ago someone tweeted from the Chrysler corporate account "I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the #motorcity and yet no one here knows how to fucking drive", today the person responsible for the tweet no longer has a job and Chrysler didn't renew their social media contract with this company.

The Performance World ticket winner is…

Well that time has come, its Friday at 11:00am and Performance World 2011 should be officially open. I messaged Sic last night get the final number of sic ryde. pass it on slogans in the display area and he let me know that the final number would come in at 10:30 am and until then to 'Expect the Unexpected'. Sure enough at 10:30am I got an email with the final number.

WTF Friday: War Of The Worlds

Who Says Playing With Chalk Is For Kids?

Found myself over on Street Source the other day where I came across this pretty cool Chevy Luv build. After a long period of ignoring his Luv, builder Daniel Maxwell decided that when the truck was fit for the streets it needed to be body dropped. The problem was he decided this after already putting a decent amount of work into it.

Theme Tuesdays: Cressida Wagons

Last weeks Theme Tuesday on the standard Cressida went over so well that it would be stupid not to strike while the iron is hot and follow up with a Cressida Wagon post. Distinguishing the difference between the Mark II, Cressidas, and Cresta's is a little different when you are not super familiar with with each platform so don't lop my head off if I got a few wrong.

Theme Tuesdays: Classy Car Models Part 4

At the last round of CSCS Danny from Street Concepts was wearing a T-shirt that said "Say No To Recession Models" in addition to making me laugh this shirt made me realize it's been awhile since I have done a 'Classy Car Model' Theme Tuesday. As always pulling together this group took quite sometime because the trend for most car models (specifically import) is still to wear as little clothes as possible so everyone can see your high points and your low points.

Theme Tuesday: 2018 Canadian International Autoshow Wheel Gallery

The precursor to coverage of the 2018 Canadian International Autoshow is this wheel gallery. New OEM models, vintage racing models, and the bleeding edge of lightweight technology are all included within.
