Low Tech

This 1940 Ford Coupe is another example of just how easy it is to completely change the look of a car by addressing its ride height, the second I saw it on LOWTECH I knew I would be posting it up. Being a classic this car no doubt turned a few heads at stock height but now riding a little lower to the ground I think it has an even larger appeal. It's not low to the point where purists would be upset but it's also not high to the point where it blends in with other non modified classics.

2005 STI For Sale

If you were at Importfest this year you will probably recognize this car as it was sitting with the rest of the Nine O Five Rides team. As much as I want Tyler to keep this car because I think he's done an exceptional job with it so far I know that if he is selling it means that something a little crazier is just around the bend. Since Tyler took possession of the car it has received a lot of love and car so hopefully posting it here will ensure that the new owner treats it just as well.

Theme Tuesdays: BTCC Cars

Before I launch into today's Theme Tuesday let me say that I know very, very, little about the British Touring Car Championship series so if some of these are from a different series or something don't be surprised and feel free to let me know*. When it comes to BTCC I feel I'd safe putting money down that a lot of people are fans because the competition is fierce and the cars (for race cars) very closely resemble what you see out on the road.

Event Coverage: Nextmod BBQ 2011

Nextmod decided to be patient this year and hold their BBQ a little later than they had previous years. This patience was rewarded with a stellar turnout (as always) with the quality and quantity of cars coming out rivalling a lot of the local parking lot shows in the area. Everyone knows these BBQs are a good time because what can really go wrong when you've got great weather, great cars and free food?

And the winners are…

Last night after editing the photos from the Nextmod and before Breaking Bad I divided the pile of stickers up into six groups for the winners I chose this morning. The recipients of the pre-production Stance Is Everything script stickers along with 6 additional stickers are: Justin Il Jackson, Vittorio Masongsong, Petr Mitiska, Christopher Jason Hammond, Jeff Pastuck, and Terrence Nikolai Kuzakov.

WTF Friday: They came turbo!?

I'll admit that even though I spent a lot of my early years as a car enthusiast staring at Countach posters on my wall, pushing Countach die casts around my house, and playing with the Tyco Cliffhangers Countach slot car set I knew surprisingly little about them technically growing up. While I've learned more about them as I aged until recently I had no idea that the Lamborghini factory may have considered production turbo versions.

Event Coverage: S&P – United We Stance

Summer sure flew by pretty damn fast, the first Stretch and Poke meet of the year doesn't even seem like it was all that long ago and now the last one for this season has come and gone. Though I was only at this season-ender event briefly I was there long enough to see that the community is appreciative of all of Dave's efforts and showed that by the great turn out.

Event Coverage: Battleground Show & Shine

I mentioned last week that Sunday September 11th was a busy day to be a car enthusiast here in Toronto. Conveniently the two events were close enough (about thirty minutes apart) that you didn't really have to make a choice between the two if you were only a spectator like myself. The first event I attended (and returned to) was the Battleground Show N' Shine put on by Battleground Performance and Division R.

Theme Tuesdays: Toyota Estima/Previas

To honest I am not quite sure how well this one is going to go over because I know not everyone is into these egg shaped vans, but when I was thinking of something different to do this Tuesday these were at the top of the list. I can't think of any local Previa's or Estimas but they are quite popular in Japan and a few have popped up in the US. Thanks to a couple threads on VIP Style Cars and some posts on OMG Pancakes I was able to pull together a group wehere everyone should be able to find one they like.

Photo Year In Review 2012 – The Events

At this point I've trashed three separate year in review drafts trying to figure out the best way to tackle the amount of content that has accumulated over the past 361 days. After hemming and hawing about formats I've decided that the best way to recap is with a lot of photos and minimal words.

WTF Friday: Triple Changer

I saw this work in progress on Facebook last week and genuinely laughed out loud upon viewing. Front and rear end swaps I'm no stranger to,...

Theme Tuesdays: E30 M3s FTW

If there is one thing that's universal between basically everyone in the automotive community it's that e30s kick ass, and e30 m3s even more so. I did an e30 Theme Tuesday and now its the e30 m3's time to shine. Tourings next?

Event Coverage: 2016 Cars N’ Coffee Toronto Season Ender

If you've been following the coverage thus far --or better yet attending the events personally-- then you already know that Engineered Automotive has been doing...

Theme Tuesdays: Air cooled Beetles

The 'blame' for this weeks Theme Tuesday can squarely be placed on the shoulders of previously featured photographer and current BC(?) resident Mike McConnell. After spotting the Beetle that used to be his at Oktoberfest I read through the entire build thread which left me wanting more. Since it's been a long time since I have dedicated a Theme Tuesday to this iconic car I spent some time last night pulling a quick list together.
