WTF Friday: Counting Sheep

Sleepers are interesting and everyone seems to define them a little differently. Personally I feel the best sleepers are the ones that are not entirely batshit crazy and have yet to make the changes that often reveal the cars true nature (ie cages and drag radials).

Event Coverage: Candy On Chrome

Prior the the KJohn Wickedest Slam show I stopped by the True Playaz Candy and Chrome show a few minitues from my house. Last year I showed up way to early which meant a really long day so this year I showed up around 2:30 right in the middle of the action so to speak.

Event Coverage: Wickedest Slam 1.0

KJohn Car Innovations has been cranking out pretty low and loud cars from the Brampton area for a few years now -most notably their Accord Wagon and SRT-4- and this Saturday they had their first show the 'Wickedest Slam 1.0'. Since Brampton isn't all that far from me I decided to swing by after Candy and Chrome and check it out.

WTF Friday: Domestic Sandwhich

This... is a little weird. I've seen wild front end conversions, wild rear conversions, and entire body swaps but a front and rear end conversion done to one car using two different brands. The front of this car from a fifth generation Mustang, the rear is from a C5 Corvette, and sandwiched between the two is the orignal car with is a fourth generation Mustang.

Guest Coverage: Dropsicles Sideshow 2012

Mike McConnell is an awesome event photographer, like myself he is the kind of guy who will do multiple passes of a show to make sure nothing gets missed and he isn't against revisiting the same car a few times in order capture those fine details. His latest contribution is from theDropsicles Sideshow held in Lethbridge Alberta and while I had never heard of it before these photos have made it a show I am going to keep an eye on. Great variety and quality.

Event Coverage: 2012 CSCS Round 3 Part 2

Continuing where things left off yesterday today's coverage consists of  the cars that caught my eye in the pits along with coverage of the show and shine. The Round 3 show and shine was actually a lot larger than these pictures illustrate but once the weather took a turn for the worse I focused my efforts more on track coverage and staying dry.

Theme Tuesday: Muscle Part II

I mentioned in my last Performance Improvements article that as a wee lad the first time I noticed stance of any sort was on a muscle car. The exaggerated forward rake that was in at the time made it stand out amongst all the factory cars I was used to seeing and it was the first time I realized I didn't much care for stock height.

Event Coverage: 2012 Majestics / Luxurious BBQ

A couple weeks ago Rob from Perfromance Improvments let me know that I should check out the Majestics/Luxurious lowrider BBQ  at St Marie Curtis Park West. Generally the word "Lowrider" is more than enough to get me to come to an event but when you throw in the word 'barbecue' along with it I am there in a second.

Event Coverage: Mosport DMCC 2012: Show And Shine

Before I get into coverage from the events that took place this past weekend I ought to finish off the coverage from the previous weekend so with that here is the show & shine coverage from the 2012 DMCC Mosport event. Put on by Carlos of SLC Productions the show & shine this year wasn't as big as I remember from 2010 but it did have a decent mix of cars and since it was actually cheaper to enter the show and shine than pay for 2 regular price admissions a lot of people who wouldn't normally show (like myself) entered.

Guest Coverage: Eurokracy 2012

Despite the wet weather last years Eurokracy drew quite a crowd proving that European car enthusiasts are not the type to let a little water get in the way of good times and low cars. This year the Eurokracy team started promoting the show six months in advance and once the weather cooperated breaking last years attendance record was no problem at all.

Theme Tuesdays: Vintage Lowriders Part II

I love looking at vintage coverage from all areas of the hobby because it is a great way to see what styles were here to stay and continue to stand the test of time and which were 'of the era'. I hesitate to use the word fad because it has a lot of negative connotations and some styles tend to boomerang and come full circle in the end anyway.

Guest Coverage: Nine 0 Five Rides Truck & Tuner Expo 2012

The inability to be in more than one place at a time is starting to become a problem, I had a great time at last years Truck And Tuner Expo and would have liked to attend again this year but I had never been to Grand Bend prior to Sunday so I ended up there instead. However the Nine O Five guys have always been very supportive of the site so there was absolutely no way I was going to let the show go by without some guest coverage and as luck would have it my friend Jon O was close enough to Niagara to head out for a couple of hours.
