As the GTA’s 2010 show season nears it’s end one of the most anticipated shows of the year, Importfest, gets closer.
This is a reminder to the local readers that this years Importfest (which takes place this Saturday) is the 10th anniversary of the show and therefore the organizers plan on doing it BIG with new classes, new sponsors, and new on site features.
Running from 12pm-12am on Sept 11th 2010 there is really no excuse for not being able to find the time to check out this years show.
Nissan is coming out with another interesting suv type vehicle, The Juke, and just like last years Cube this car sure looks unique.
With the cube it was pretty easy to see that Nissan was trying to scrape some off the top of the Scion ‘box’ market but with the Juke I am not 100% sure on where they are thinking of going.
Personally I think the styling is a little too far out there for the average soccer mom, and a little too soccer mom for the average car guy, however the render I below may have swayed me some.
Stock formIf this is not real, someone should make it real.
While the exterior doesn’t really appeal all that much to me the drive train does, awd 1.6l Turbocharged engine with 190 HP and 180 ft-lbs of torque.
What do you think, will the Juke pick up a solid following or go the way of the Aztec?
Furthermore where do you think Juke power plants will end up in a couple of years?
A couple weeks ago, in the “Rolling Shots Part 2” Theme Tuesday I made mention of the fact I was working on an all rig shot themed post.
After searching a few forums I have come up with the following collection of photos. You will probably notice that many share the same watermark and that’s because those who take rig shots well take them often.
Rig shots are an art that I do not see myself mastering any time soon so big, big props to all of the photographers as these are awesome shots.
Still have love for the GC chassisCity lightsWonder if this was taken on a beach?Shout out to those brave enough to rock CF lipsA little game of cat and mouseA lot of Subarus today, I knowClean lookin e46 enjoying a quiet roadNice lookin tiI'll take bothMakes me miss my e30Mmm more e46 loveMan when was the last time I posted a Viper? Not often you see a straight on rig shotSte takes great rig shotsOne of the only guys I know doing drift rig shots.Wow this car is cleanM3.This is slammed.LOL
Owning an 04 means that my car is now a senior Mazda 3, previously wasn’t really too noticeable as the differences from 04-08 are fairly subtle, however now that the 2010’s are out and running around this means that my car is officially old news.
Looking at the 2010s though it’s hard to be bummed about owning a geezer car because not only am I used to it but the younger happier sibling to my car takes very well to modifications as the following Toronto Mazda 3 members have shown.
A drop, lip kit, and set of wheels change the look of these cars from a slap happy grin to a sinister smile.

Like the first gen Mazda 3 Nextmod has been right on top of the aftermarket support which means that the hardest part these 3 2010 owners had with getting parts was finding the money.
Give Nextmod and the TM3 crew a little bit longer and I wouldn’t be surprised if you see someone really pushing the stance and fitment game on these cars.
The guys over at Supermade must have a Corrado resource I don’t know about because this is the second one that they have posted this week that’s made me stop in my tracks and throw up a post
These Mercedes Benz AMG wheels, though large, look right at home on this Corrado with the height it’s at, I’m really feelin it.
Biggest wheels I have ever seen look good on a rado
The question is which VW do you prefer more on AMG’s this ‘Rado or Big Pete’s Passat?
I found this crazy contraption in one of my new favorite threads on VW Vortex, the Insane or Unique motor swap thread. Personally I love when cars are transformed into motors on wheels using power plants that were never meant to power something as small and humble as an automobile.
The internet legend would have it that this 1970 or so Opel GT got hit by a train and instead of ending up in the junk yard for the rest of it’s days an unknown Ohio inventor got a hold of it and put an early P-51 Allison v-12 in the back of it.
Here is an edited version of what was posted on the forums:
Long car is long
“This one of a kind Opel GT, was built sometime in the early seventies by an Ohio inventor. As legend goes this Opel lost a race with a train early in its life and went on to become the donor vehicle of a early P-51 Allison V-12 with (1710 cu.in.) 1250 HP.
It has a 10,000 lb release clutch, a custom differential with straight gears, inboard axle mounted disc brakes, independent suspension, and a custom rear cover made of fiberglass and aluminum.
This car was street legal, no roll bars or bracing NOT a drag or race car strictly sight and sound 2000lbs of engine right behind you. “
That's a heck of a lot of motorImagine getting this assssssssss out
and because those photos are so small here is a video of the beast trying to start
The home move is more or less complete, and by that I mean all the boxes are here and some rooms are setup. The office is still a mess so I should get off the computer soon and back to setting that up.
If you ordered any stickers this week yes they will all go out today so if you ordered on Monday sorry for the extra delay in shipping.
My garage build will have to wait a few weeks however since I found out after riding on Tuesday and being in heaps of pain after I went to the doctor and they told me that that I actually fractured my scaphoid bone three weeks ago when I fell at a trail jam so they put a cast on it.
It’s a bummer but it is what it is, if you see more typos on this blog than usual you can blame it on that 😉
Two weeks of this then more x rays, cool!
Not that the move is done things can start to get back to normal around here, there’s a feature that has been in the works for sometime that now has an excellent chance of seeing the light of day soon.
Myself and everyone involved are very much looking forward to it as it was a blast to do. Without giving to much away I will just say are there any Liberty City fans in the house? 🙂
Flashback Friday
J.P. Ellis over at welovethis.ca actually knows exactly how it feels to have a broken schapiod being a downhill rider so I figured I would flashback to the mini feature on his friend Mike’s RWD WRX.

Subaru uses the beauty of all wheel drive in their sales pitch but that doesn’t mean the owners don’t love the attitude of rear wheel drive! If didn’t see this feature before check it out now.
Emilio aka b20bomber on jdmrides aka the man behind the lens at TWOLITREmedia was a photographer part of an EK Hatch photo shoot last weekend after HT7.
All of the cars in the shoot look amazing, and really speak to the quality of Toronto’s current EK scene.
Additionally the pictures themselves are of top notch quality.
I have to say hats of to Emilio because I couldn’t imagine the logistics of organizing a shoot this large.

As mentioned previously the 10th Anniversary Importfest show takes place September 11th 2010 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center and thanks to Sic Ryde I have a pair of Importfest tickets to give away along with a limited edition Sic Ryde key chain.
The contest is open to anyone within driving distance* of the show and entering the contest is simple, the person who can best describe what Sic Ryde is in the comments of this post will win the prize package**.
Be creative and original as the mystery has not yet been revealed. Remember, it’s not a car show, it’s not a car club, what is it?
Sic Ryde: Expect The Unexpected.
The contest will run from September 01 2010 to 12:00pm September 9th 2010 and the winner will be chose by the Sic Ryde.

Time for me to purge my hard drive of 90% of the s2000 pictures I have saved because it’s becoming hard to remember which I have posted and which I have not.
I’ll admit when s2000s first came out I wasn’t all about them but, as the years go by and more people let loose on them the more I dig.
