Theme Tuesdays: Women and Cars

One 'drawback' to compiling the Classy Car Model Theme Tuesdays is that I often end up coming across lots of photos of women with cars that are the standard fare, you know, the scantily clad woman with a nice car type of photo. All of the photos in today's post were chosen because of the car in the photo, the woman in the photo, or the photography, I'll leave it to you guys to speculate in the comments what was the determining factor in each. Sorry in advance ladies, also this one may be NSFW.

Orange Delicious

Man, whats up with all the sick Orange EG's lately? When I posted this one before I called it an 'epic save' and if the owner keeps doing what he is doing I might just have to upgrade it to best Civic save ever. Fittingly this B16b powered, pumpkin orange, hatch was voted ' Hatchback Of The Month' for October on Clubeg6.com. If you ask me it's well deserved honor.

It’s a Mirage

When I think of modified Mitsubishi's it's normally Eclipse, Lancer, or Evo, but never Mirage. This is probably because the history of the Mirage in Canada is a little confusing. Up until early/mid 2000 Mitsubishi was sold under Eagle and or Plymouth, which meant the Mirage sedan was a Dodge Colt while the hatchback was an Eagle Summit. I've seen a couple modified Colts around town (though few and far between and none within the past five years) but at the time I never made the connection to the cars Mitsubishi heritage.

Top Content of 2010

Welcome to 2011 everyone! I hope this year is better than the last for all of you and for those of you that rang in the year with firewater I wish you a speedy recovery from the grips of a hangover. Like last year I'm watching the 2010 Scottsdale Barrett Jackson Auction re air on Speed TV and looking over my Google Analytics stats to see how things went in 2010.

WTF Friday: What the heck is a Wartburg?

Saw this in the 'Post Insane or Unique Engine Swaps' thread over on VW Vortex and it had me a little confused. I've never seen, or heard of, a Wartburg before. However after checking out Wiki it sort of makes sense as they were a car of East German manufacture that never made it's way to Canada. Their 'claim to fame' was the fact that the motors only had 7 moving parts (three pistons, three connecting rods and a crankshaft).

Whats the plural of Lexus?

Lexi? Lexuses? Toyotas? I think it's Lexuses but that sounds funny (like Flanderses) so I am not really sure. Anyway the reason I am talking about this is because I found photos of these six Lex sedans while pulling together the IS300 Theme Tuesday. I'm having a hard time deciding which is my favorite, the red one on Equips or the purple one on Meisters.

Readers Rides: Facebook fans Part 4

The Facebook fan page just surpassed another milestone, 2000 fans, and to celebrate I've decided to do one more readers rides for 2010. As the fan page grows so does the variety of cars posted in the fan photos gallery. Seeing variety is great because it means that I can continue to post all sorts of cars here without worry of losing the collective interests to to speak. Here's the latest from the fan page.

Theme Tuesdays: Volvo Bricks

Not too long ago I was challenged to do a Volvo 240 Theme Tuesday by the human car encyclopedia Joe. Initially I thought this would be hard to pull together as after a few weeks I only had a handful of 240s and 244's saved. That was until I decided to go over to TurboBricks.com once I was there the list came together very well and very fast. I always kind of knew older Volvos had a following but I didn't know people were as faithful to these as they are e30s.

Draggin’ flap

Clean Civic's always seem to resonate with me because I'm so used to seeing them either riced out, rusted out, or a tragic combination of the two. This particular Civic has been a resident of my hard drive for some time now and I've skipped over posting it time and time again, but not today. Looking at this car again overall I admire it's simplicity and that is the reason I saved it to my 'automotive' folder in the first place.
