Sunday’s Refined: Curated Sunday Special

Event Coverage: Importfest 2010 Pt. 2

Here is part two of the 2010 Importfest Coverage including some of the rides from the Division R, Sic Ryde and Nextmod teams along with the winner of the 'Baddest Stance' category which I helped judge. Additionally there are some awards ceremony shots and a couple girls. Off the top I would just like to thank Basit, Neil, Dave and the rest of the judges/organizers who put the show on for having me out to cover the event and letting me be a small part of it. Congratulations on a great 10 year anniversary guys.

Theme Tuesdays: FD RX-7s

I know I've done this body style of RX-7 before but truth be told there are so many nice ones out there that I will probably do the same theme a few more times. Sorry for the amount repeats lately but I am working on a couple of unique Theme Tuesdays but they take time to pull together. Besides it's nothing but love for rotary's right?

Event Coverage: Importfest 2010 Pt. 1

The tenth anniversary of Importfest went down this weekend and it was really one to remember, the show was about the same size as last year but the caliber of cars on the floor seemed to be quite a bit higher. The team entries were off the hook, the stage always had something going on, and the women looked great, not to mention the new best stance award category which I was lucky enough to have a hand in judging. Today's coverage is a little bit of everything so there should be a little something for everyone.

Windows no tints, cars, no rims…

With certain cars sometimes to make a heard turner all you need to do is drop them to the ground, the cars which usually respond best to the 'just slam' treatment are ones that are normally not in the hands of people who would put them on the ground. Visually this Benz has no other modifications than a healthy drop, and if it never received anything else it would still look great.

White Letters

I hardly ever post on Saturday, more so this early on a Saturday, but an s2k dumped on one of my favorite rims with meaty white letter Falkens and minimal stretch? I like this, I like this a lot. Props to the owner and the photographer as both the car and photography are well put together.

WTF Friday: Who keeps this in a forest?

Today's WTF Friday is a sad tale of a car that was ridden very hard, stripped and put away soaking wet. This e30 (non M thankfully) used to be an S38 powered full out track car which reportedly had it's fair share of tough times on the track and now sits in the forest as a home for all sorts of vermin.

The ‘What Is Sic Ryde’ contest winner is….

First, on behalf of myself and Sic Ryde I would like to thank everyone who entered the 'What Is Sic Ryde' contest. Everyone brought their creativity and originality to the table and reading all of the answers was a lot of fun, especially for me since I don't even know the true answer myself. Unfortunately just like how there can only one Sic Ryde, there can also only one winner of the Importfest tickets and that winner is....

Mr Ing.

Mr Ing has been turning a lot of heads breaking necks in his Lexus GS350 lately, he's been featured on the scraped crusaders, has two long threads about his car on jdmrides and when we rolled in to the Nextmod 1 year every stopped and looked. The reason his car turns so many heads is because a Lexus that looks like this in the GTA is somewhat of a rare bird and this one is in a current state of evolution.

Event Preview: Importfest 2010

As the GTA's 2010 show season nears it's end one of the most anticipated shows of the year, Importfest, gets closer. This is a reminder to the local readers that this years Importfest (which takes place this Saturday) is the 10th anniversary of the show and therefore the organizers plan on doing it BIG with new classes, new sponsors, and new on site features.
