      Theme Tuesdays: Waterfest 17 favorites

Waterfest was this weekend if you didn't now (I am sure most of you did) and while I have delusions of grandeur that one day I will have budget (and time) to travel to more events across the border it has yet to happen. So like I did for Wekfest 2011 I decided to live vicariously through other photographers and post my personal favorites of the photos I have seen so far from Waterfest 17.

Event Coverage: Street Classics July 9th 2011

After the Indy on Saturday my Steve and I swung by my place grilled some burgers, picked up our better halves, and rolled out to the Street Classics Cruise in at Canadian Tire #70. This was the first one of these events I had been to in 2011, and the first I had been to in quite some time where the forecast was great the entire day.

Readers Rides: Facebook Fans Part 5

I've been meaning to dedicate another post to Readers Rides for awhile now but with the amount of event coverage I have been doing combined with features and guest coverage it's been hard to find a day to dedicate to it. However with the Facebook fan page clicking over to 4000 people yesterday (thanks everyone who has liked the page) I think today is the perfect day to show some of your cars some love, it was long overdue.

      Theme Tuesdays: Old School Minitrucks

After googling Truxarossa for last weeks WTF Friday I came across an old school mini truck thread on streetsource.com and was hooked instantly. I was no where near driving age when a lot of these trucks were out killing the streets and gracing covers but I do have hazy memories of similar style trucks still being around the time when I began to start noticing automobiles a lot more.

      Featured Ride: Kevin’s Varis STI

Being a car enthusiast and working at a tuning shop is akin to being a kid at a candy store, all of the resources you could possibly want to put together an incredible car is right at your fingertips waiting for you every day. Kevin, an employee at Nextmod, put all of these resources to work when he decided it was time to take his 2010 STI from mild to absolutely wild.

      Guest Coverage: Slamology 2011

Reader Scott Simmons recently went to Slamology 2011 which took at the Marion County Farigrounds June 18th and 19th and sent in these photos. Wow is pretty much all I can say about the level of trucks and cars that were at the show. I am going to have to make a point to try and attend a large American show because the turn out of completely buried in the weeds mini trucks at these events never seems to disappoint.

Event Coverage: Niagara Truck & Tuner Expo Pt 2

Before I get into part two of the TNT Expo coverage I would once again like to thank and congratulate Nine-O-Five rides for putting on a great event. If there is one thing I remember most about putting on events (BMX) its that people don't always say thanks or even show any sort of appreciation for the work you put in so again thanks guys see you next year! Today's coverage is 99% cars because I posted all of the trucks yesterday and it also includes a few of the vehicles that were in the limbo contest.

      Featured Ride: JDR’s Mazda 3

When discussing aggressively fit Mazda 3 hatchbacks* three cars instantly spring to mind: Kevin Nigel's titanium gray 05 that was on SSR Vienna Kreis wheels, Rocky's fender flared conversation starter, and the subject of today's feature the always clean Safron Yellow example owned by Yevgeniy Kovalchuk. Yevgeniy, better known as JDR on the forums, has already received a number of kudos for his cars 2010 look, and his 2011 makeover is about to turn just as many heads as before, if not more.

      SilForty

I have had this car saved on my hard drive for almost two months now but I just kept putting it off until later for one reason or another. However now that Readers Rides Part 5 is number one on my procrastination list it's time to let this Silvia clipped 240 go. This 240SX was owned by three Super Street editors in it's day and was built up for the magazine on two separate occasions, once in 2008 then again in 2010. It's in print popularity means that some of you may already be very familiar with the it.

      Theme Tuesdays: BMW E46

After spending a lot of time yesterday working on the Turbo Dodge, turned compact American car Theme Tuesday and not really getting anywhere (but reading a lot of interesting threads about why aggressive fitment is the devil) I decided to take a break and bounce around some forums and blogs. Doing this I found out that one of my favorite e46s is being parted out and sold, so I set out to find a new favorite, along the way I encountered the ones below plus many more for a follow up down the road.

      Event Coverage: S&P June 19th 2011: Part 1

Stretch and Poke's second official meet of the 2011 season was on Sunday and it brought out all of the usual suspects (Scraped Crusaders, StreetClass, Dorimoto and more) as well as some of the people behind the upcoming ImportExpo. Dave and his ever growing crew are working pretty hard this year to raise the bar in regards to meets in the Toronto area and so far so good as they were able to pull a decent crowd even for Fathers day.

      C-C-C-C-Combo breaker

Traditionally I only post in the WTF Friday category or Fridays, however I will make an exception when Steve Wharton at E11even: 11 is involved and leaves gems like these on my facebook wall on a Thursday night. These photos of Division R Sam's previously featured, and recently transformed 350z, were shot a few days ago at a Niagara region airfield which happens to be home to a few lovely planes including a hand polished Lockheed.
