Lexus

Featured Photographer: David Nguyen

Once again showing love to Canadians behind the lens, today's featured photographer hails from the home of The Oilers, Edmonton Alberta. David, who never really thought about getting into photography, started shooting photos as a way to generate original content for his automotive site Import Bible which is a combination of Alberta auto enthusiast content and unique automotive apparel.

Theme Tuesdays: Lexus LS400s

About this time two weeks ago I posted up a clean LS400 and put forth the question about whether or not I should do a full LS400 Theme Tuesday. The response I got was basically a resounding 'yes' so I hit up Aidan, who I normally ask about Lexus/VIP matters, and he helped provide some links and photos to pull this together.

What would you do?

I mentioned yesterday on facebook that the test fit of my new wheels went pretty poorly, but before I get into that I should back track and let you guys know what my goal for these new wheels is. What I hope to have purchased is a set of Work Equip 5 spokes in 17x8 (et38) and 17x9 (et44) fitment. The plan, through lots of research, was to run these with 215/45/17s all around and be happy with not a lot of poke and no excessive amounts of camber.

Rollin Heavy

Here's a quick before work, pre-Theme Tuesday post to get your day headed in the right direction. Nothing too fancy with this LS400 just another clean, black, dumped, dished Lexus. The more I look at it the more I like it, the factory two tone is working surprisingly well and the chrome trim around the wheels works well with the wheels.

Whats the plural of Lexus?

Lexi? Lexuses? Toyotas? I think it's Lexuses but that sounds funny (like Flanderses) so I am not really sure. Anyway the reason I am talking about this is because I found photos of these six Lex sedans while pulling together the IS300 Theme Tuesday. I'm having a hard time deciding which is my favorite, the red one on Equips or the purple one on Meisters.

Event Coverage: SEMA Part 8

Well, I've finally reached what is going to be the end of the 2010 SEMA coverage. Hopefully you guys have enjoyed all of the coverage as much as I have enjoyed posting it. I hope after seeing these photos you are now devising a way to get to next years show as I think it's something every enthusiast should try and get out to. As much I have tried to share here it's really, really, hard to explain what it's like until you've been, I've never been so exhausted from taking in so much automotive eye candy.

Event Coverage: SEMA Part 7

This is going to be the second last set of coverage and it's pretty substantial, 50 plus photos from the outside of the show so if you are on a phone or a stressed connection give it some time. Imagine the net worth of all the cars on the convention center grounds during the week? That's a lot of money.

Event Coverage: SEMA Part 6

It's time to get to the outside of SEMA, finally! While the entire SEMA show was impressive I would have to say the outside had the most modified cars per square foot. However it was also hot, very hot compared to Ontario and walking around with a laptop in my bag wasn't helping so I did it in stages between the halls. Here's part 1 from the outside.

Event Coverage: SEMA Part 4

Here is another photo overload from SEMA 2010. For those of you who are waiting for photos of the cars that were outside of SEMA rest assured I lots of great coverage from the outside as well that will be making it's way up to the site over the next few days. In the meantime enjoy some more of what was going on inside the halls. After this set I believe I've got one hall left along with some of the adjacent hallways before taking it outside into the Vegas sun.

Event Coverage: Lowballers VIP Meet

Last night, after SEMA, I hit up the Lowballers SEMA VIP meet. I knew I had to make a point to head out to this meet from the first time I saw the ad because the Lowballers do it big and the VIP scene in Toronto is still pretty small still so this meet served as a great opportunity to check out an established VIP scene.

Event Coverage: SEMA Part 1

The first day at SEMA was intense, the show basically blew me away in every regard. It's larger than I could have imagined. If you think you have anyway of getting out to one of these do what you can to make it happen, it's a car enthusiasts paradise. Each hall is massive and the parking lot out front of the show is the size of a large car show never mind the multiple halls that actually make up the event. Today's coverage is a small lot that was behind the Center Hall that was all Source Media Interlink feature cars.

Theme Tuesdays: First gen IS300/Altezzas

For this week's Theme Tuesday I decided to go with a vehicle I have yet to dedicate a day to instead of doing another series theme. While I've posted, and featured, IS300's before I've been slacking at posting up a real solid collection of them, until now. There isn't really much to hate with the IS300, It's a versatile rear wheel drive platform built on Toyota/Lexus's past successes. After a day or so of searching here is the tip of the IS300 iceberg.
