Stance Pilipinas

I love when international readers send in their rides (the further away from Canada and the US the better) because it is always cool to see which trends make it internationally and which don't. Bruce and Jay from the Philippines recently sent in some photos of their rides along with a few of the people in their crew and they are quite nice.

Guest Coverage: Driven Aftermarket & Performance Show 2012

Weekend posts on SIE are a rarity (I like to ride my bike) however I do make the odd exception for great content like today's guest coverage. It's not often I get a chance to share what's going on in Calgary so luckily for all of us previously featured photographer Mike McConnell happened to be at this years Driven aftermarket & performance show in Calgary with a brand new camera he was dying to test out.

WTF Friday: Twin Engine Echo

Pretty well topping my list of 'things I didn't expect to see this week ever' would have to be this twin engine Toyota Echo. I'm not currently up to date with what goes in on the Echo world but I have reason to believe that this car doesn't represent the average Echo owner especially when you consider that the car puts down 503hp at 8.5psi.

Event Coverage: 2012 CSCS Season Opener: Pt. 2

Back with the second and final part of the CSCS season Opener coverage with today focusing on the show & shine and Stretch & Poke Fitted showcase. The CSCS show & shine is always an interesting mix of cars and I have tried to capture a lot of them here, I missed out on a couple between heading back and forth to the track and talking to people but there is a good mix of what was there in this coverage.

Event Coverage: 2012 CSCS Season Opener: Pt. 1

Shasha AnisIf you listened to the weatherman all week long than you are probably some of several people who skipped out on CSCS opener this weekend which is a shame because outside of a few quick showers most of the event was actually dry. The drag strip was busy most of the day (until a particularly hard rainfall) and the road course saw heavy use by both the time attack drivers and the drifters.

Theme Tuesdays: Dat Ass – Fitted Edition

This Tuesday I've opted to bring back the ever popular 'Dat Ass' theme but fill it with only cars that were at Sundays 'Fitted' event put on by Stretch & Poke. Gathering this Theme Tuesday took second priority to capturing as much of the event as possible so I might have missed a few significant rear ends but there is still a good amount of variety and the last picture is sure to draw some controversy.

Theme Tuesdays: Cressida Wagons

Last weeks Theme Tuesday on the standard Cressida went over so well that it would be stupid not to strike while the iron is hot and follow up with a Cressida Wagon post. Distinguishing the difference between the Mark II, Cressidas, and Cresta's is a little different when you are not super familiar with with each platform so don't lop my head off if I got a few wrong.

WTF Friday: Tempting Fate

As bizarre as this might sound I actually spend more time than you probably expect looking at donks. No I don't really like them, and no you won't see them posted here in anything other than WTF Friday category but I can't help but be a little mystified behind this crowds choice of modifications. The huge wheels, lifts, insanely loud stereos, and odd corporate paint schemes, for lack of a better word, dumbfound me.

WTF Friday: So Who’s Worse?

It's no secret that in the quest to go as low and wide as possible some people have been known to cross the line between voids warranties and downright dangerous. Not long ago one particularily inept attempt appeared on Jalopnik and more recently people have been up in arms over a particular silver Celica from Japan.

Soupra

While pulling together yesterdays post I came across this Supra that I felt was deserving of a post all it's own. It's a single turbo MKIV from Scotland that is currently sitting on BC Racing coils and rolling on 18x9.5 and 18x11 Work Meisters.

Theme Tuesdays: Dat Ass Part 3

On Sunday I saw something that made me think I should do another 'Dat Ass' Theme Tuesday post and, foolishly, I didn't save it in the hopes I would remember it when the time came to put the post together. No such luck.

Theme Tuesdays: Borbet Type A Appreciation

With their chunky twist on the classic five spoke the Borbet Type A is a wheel that people love as much as they hate. Personally it took me a long time to warm up to the raised center caps, but after pulling this post together I realized that like everything else it all comes down to sizing and application.
