I’ve started and stopped this Theme Tuesday probably over ten times no with each attempt getting derailed due to my automotive attention deficit disorder.
To help get things on track I asked Ollie for some help and together we were able to get this one done.
Since I am doing the ‘/ Aristo’ I am going limiting this to first and second gen as they had Toyota counterparts. I will get third and fourth gen the second go round.
I’m not a huge first gen guy but this one is amazingColours work together very wellAnother first gen from the Black 3 coverageHammeredPosted this back in 2009, still as crazy now as it was thenI like how the GS wears luxury and sporty wheels wellMr. Cyrious Productions at CSCSYou’ll notice intercoolers behind the bumper of several of the cars posted todayI’m normally not a huge fan of such significant rear camber but a lot of it made it into this postSeems about time someone slid one of these locallyShot from Wekfest LADamn I love Weds Kranze Bazerias, the pin stripe is a nice touch tooStunningGreat photography as wellGreat rolling shot of a simple and elegant GSAnother great rollerModified Magazine feature carNot just easy on the eyes this car gets driven#LSineverythingPersonally I would go with Satin over CF but still a great looking carCouldn’t have this whole post go buy without something a little over the top from JapanAnother beauty from the guys at Mayday GarageCrazy exhaust and diffuser on thisStock quartersand a little wider…JP GS sitting on Leon Hardiritt Beils from the 2012 Tuner Evolution showAnother 400 from the same show, I believe this is turbo 2JPhilly GS starting some Chaos at H20iAnother shot sans smoke, This it might be sold now
Awhile back I came to the realization that try as I might living my entire life without owning at least one motorcycle probably isn’t going to happen. The number of motorcycle riding friends I have seems to be increasing at an alarming rate and the machines themselves are just starting to interest me more as time goes on.
I’m doing a good job (well actually my empty wallet is doing a good job) of fighting it off currently but if somehow I ever come into a windfall of cash.. well then Houston we’ve got a problem.
No immediate plans to start posting motorcycles like crazy around here but I there’s just something about this one that makes me want to share it. It’s certainly not the most practical thing in the world with a 1/4 tank and all but practicality has never stopped me from liking a vehicle before.
The simplicity of the whole bike is what I find most appealingAll that is left is what you need to head down the road, turn, and stopKnee ‘suicide’ shifter is a nice touch, the wood knob tops it off perfectThe die cable knarp is another awesome detailSomething tells me this bike would be lively in the rain…
This bike started as a Soyer 07S 1928 but now is worlds away from that and since motorcycles are not really my area of expertise I will direct you to the Southsiders for more information on the build.
First and foremost a big thank you to everyone who entered, the best wishes and congratulations were great to read in addition to the positive comments around the site and fan page.
It was also awesome reading comments from some of you who had similar pay it forward experiences, I know personally it’s something I want to start doing more of in everything I do.
For those who were curious the reason we chose to get married in Vegas was that we wanted a wedding ceremony that was just the two of us without a lot of the hoopla that surrounds the traditional wedding. Not that we don’t like other peoples weddings but it just wasn’t our style. Once we started looking into possibilities a drive through wedding and then straight to photo locations afterwards just made the most sense.
If any of you are thinking of doing a Vegas wedding or want to know more about the specifics feel free to shoot me an email. I’m not a wedding planner but I can let you know what we did.
Hanging around Mazda people you come to learn a few things about rust, check engine lights, recalls, and slightly obscure cars with spinning Dorito power plants.
The Eunos Cosmo is latter of that list (though it’s probably not exempt from the same problems at the beginning of that list), and is a pretty interesting piece of work all around.
This car –that they didn’t deem North America ready for– was powered by a triple rotor twin turbo mill (the first and only production car equipped with a three rotor) and according to Suck Squeeze Bang Blow was quite rare with only 8,875 units being made in it’s run from 1990-95.
In stock trim the ahead of it’s time Eunos Cosmo looked like this:
A little awkward in the face but certainly not the worst maw to ever be affixed to a car, the Cosmo was jam packed with technology including; a digital dash (that hopefully actually kept working), a TV, GPS, and a touch screen that seemingly controlled everything from the seats to the HVAC.
A hidden gem to be sure but nothing that couldn’t be made better by modification like the example below.
The reason this car is wearing a body kit that screams early nineties is because that was the only way to give the giant Lamborghini Diablo sized 335 tires a place to live.
Why are such wide tires fitted to those Panasport G7 wheels you might ask? Well under the hood the factory twin turbo 3 rotor that has been fitted with a single Garett T88 turbo and Nitrous system giving this Mazda just a little bit more get up and go for trips to the coffee shop to discuss nothing.
Taking a rare car and making it even more rare takes a special kind of crazy and obviously whoever owned modified this car originally was just that kind of crazy.
Currently (as of September) the car is in the UK but it was imported (modified) straight from Japan.
Putting the finishing touches on a shop visit feature this weekend that should be up next week, in addition to year end wrap ups and another article I’ve been sitting on for far too long.
This year while I in Vegas for SEMA my girlfriend and I got married after eight years of her putting up with my impractical cars, obsession with small plastic transforming toys, and risky children’s bike manoeuvres.
Though it was a surprise to many we actually planned the entire thing before hand and one of my few responsibilities was to arrange a vehicle to do the drive through ceremony in. After putting out an S.O.S. on twitter I immediately got a response from Las Vegas local Luis Planas of Kreative Street Designz who had a recently restored 72 c10 we could use.
The truck was purple, our wedding theme was purple, Lyndsey loved it, and I love trucks, so I gave Luis the details regarding our ceremony and he met us there.
When all was said and done and I tried to pay Luis for his troubles he refused to take any payment instead suggesting I ‘pay it forward‘. Beyond a few twitter/gtalk conversations Luis and I were practically strangers at this point so for him to step up and do this for my wife and I meant a lot. I’ve still got a lot of paying it forward gestures ahead of me to make up for his kindness but hopefully this give-away is a step in the right direction.
While running this site I’ve been fortunate enough to wind up with a lot of free product and instead of selfishly continuing to horde these t-shirts, stickers, key chains, bracelets, lanyards, and plate frames I’ve decided to split it up equally, toss in some Stance Is Everything merchandise, and mail it to three of you reading this right now.

On one of my more recent Wrong Fitment Crew lurk sessions I spotted this green 97 328i owned by user low36.
BBS wheels on an e36 isn’t anything outside of the norm but when it’s as cleanly executed as this my attention is peaked.
I particularly like the colour along with fact that the owner didn’t go the M bumper route. My love for the fact that it’s on a custom Air Lift set-up should be obvious.
The wheels are 16×7 et11 and 16×8.5 et-8 with 205/40/16 all around and the owner is planning to widen the fronts over the winter.
After almost immediately losing an hour of my day upon discovery, I sent the page admin an email and we agreed that it’s been far too long since some OG (traditionally styled) minitrucks have been posted on Stance Is Everything.
Looking through the wealth of pictures and information the page offers I can’t help but wonder how today’s trends will be viewed several years down the road.
Part of me can’t wait to find out and the other part of me remembers owning a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fanny pack.
Eitherway the individuality in each of these trucks speaks volumes.
This photo should set the tone of how far back we are going with this postCheck the detail in the doorTaz was incredibly popular in the nineties I know I had that green pillow, myself. It’s little unfortunate you don’t see murals so often anymore.Glass art is also seldom seenDrip paint, louvers, and reversed wheels, OG at it’s finestKitted out shaved s10Trackers never really did get low enough for me but were a staple of the OG sceneAstro’s take things back… can’t think of the last time I saw one at a show (or elsewhere for that matter)Tilt beds and toppers are another staplePushing aggressive fitment before people were calling it aggressive fitmentLong bed short box, scallops, chrome fender trim, so classic. Love the window on the topper too.For some reason this reminds me of that often spoofed scene of John Cusak in Say AnythingChoptop Datsun on Welds?Bed dancing Tandems anyone!?Hell I would take both the bike and the car todayLooking in the comments of this photo on their fanpage it seems as though this truck may have had an influence on a few local Rangers, most notably Gary’s truckHammeredThis one was spotted on ebaySeeing this makes me want to fly to TN and drive back a clean BlazerLooks to be just about half the wheel tucked..Japan really digs OG minitrucking style and Datsuns take well to itLike I said Japan loves it…This truck is actually recently finished in JapanTrucks as big as this can’t die, the OG page admin tell me this truck is being rebuiltThough this picture looks sad this is also being rebuilt currentlyAs is thisSome info around what’s known as the ‘first’ body dropped truck, ever.
Big thanks to the guys at The Coalition of OG MiniTruckin for letting me share these photos with you and I encourage you to take a look around his page.
It’s perhaps the best source of mini trucking history to date.
Sometime in May I tweeted a photo of my Canon on a tripod in front of my car and @ClintJollyGreen was one of the first to ask when those photos would be posted.
My car isn’t exactly top priority around here so my reply was simply “soon”.
This is not soon, and those of you who like my car should thank Clint for his persistence as left to my own schedule these probably would have never made it up.
I didn’t really a whole lot to my car this year but I did use the pothole incident as an excuse to get shorter springs (this is now my fourth suspension set-up), and I ditched the sunroof visor along with a few other extremely minor changes.
I’m hoping to do a little more next year but we will see what the future holds. As it sits I can drive it at the height it is all year without any issue and still carry three bikes and three people without rubbing which has to be some sort of miracle.
The car also just clicked over to 195k so keeping the rust at bay has also got my hands full.
Since those photos are kind of ho hum here are some additional ones taken by Calvin Lee, I know Right Studios, and Kevin Lam respectively.
While I am at it I may as well throw in this photo of me riding in front of my car for those who may have not seen it.
Still a little bummed that the table kind of sucks but timing it all proved a lot harder than I thought. I’ve also included a test shot for the heck of it.
Lately, when posting a ‘questionably’ modified WTF Friday discovery, I try to find at least one redeeming quality to compliment. Unfortunately with this car I can’t really think of anything to say beyond “it’s unique”, which is basically the participation trophy of compliments.
I’m actually really surprised that anyone did this to a Starion to begin with considering that they are a relatively obscure chassis to those who are into front and rear end swaps.
Currently for sale in PA this 86 has spent a significant amount of time under the knife, take a look:
“2002 Pontiac Sunfire headlights, 2002 Oldsmobile Alero fog lights, 2006 Nissan 350z” – What?“2011 Camaro Tails” – What!?!?“20” Venti Plus Wheels”.. ehh expected at this point2006 BMW 745 center console – What!?!?!?!?!Could have at least pushed the wheels out a little bit…
Last week I posted an Audi on 3 piece TMBs to which Ollie replied “some times I think if I see another VAG on Rotiforms I’m gonnna shoot my self. Isn’t the idea of custom cars that you never see another one like it?”
I thought about that comment for awhile and realised that despite the fact I still enjoy a good VAG car dumped on Rotiforms Ollie’s point rings true because if I see another Rocket Bunny Kitted FR-S I just might scream a little bit.
So with something different in mind I’ve decided to post this second generation Rover Coupé I stumbled upon awhile back.
Wound down over top of wheels I feel bad for not being able to name of (tip of my tongue I swear), this particular 216 has also been fitted with a Civic rear spoiler and Opel Calibra side skirts.
Far from an over used platform this car certainly stood amongst the varied builds that pop up in my rss reader.
More info here on rovercoupe.net. The owner has since sold it and moved on to a new project.
